this is a one week review. so far so good. if you have a cold plunge tub that is less than 80 gallons then this chiller is a great choice. it comes with everything you need-chiller, pump, tubing, and hose clamps. installation was simple. let's talk about the pump. it is submersible only. if you need an inline pump for your setup then you'll have to buy a different pump. my water has consistently been between 48 to 50 degrees. Definitely needed for an axolotl tank this summer. Served it’s purpose and wasn’t terribly loud, but still quite expensive to purchase. UPDATE: no longer recommending this chiller. I ran it in the summer months only, so after nine months of use the power switch failed. I rushed to buy another chiller because I desperately need one. The new chiller rattles and wheezes, turns on way more frequently (every few minutes!). Sounds very sketchy. At this time I went back to my old chiller in hopes a wire just might be lose and it’s an easy fix… I opened the case and found burnt wires inside. After reading someone else having a literal fire shooting out at the same spot I found burnt wires. I no longer recommend this chiller ... show more

I’d been trying to decide on a chiller for my axolotls for months before I settled on this one. I’ve had it up and running for a number of months now and I’ve been very happy with it. It keeps my tank cool for my little guy and runs very quiet. Amazon offering payment plans through Affirm was a nice bonus Edit: I bought this in February and the pump has gone bad already. It still works but it runs so loud it makes me crazy. Not a huge deal to replace it I guess, but not impressed that it didn’t last longer ... show more

While the absolute sound pressure level registers as claimed, the high pitch compressor noise makes it subjectively much, much louder than white noise at the same amplitude. Not workable if you want to work in the next room or like your sanity. Otherwise works well so far, using it to cool a cold plunge. ... show more

As an axolotl breeder I’ve got to keep my tanks at a steady 62-64 degrees. In the past I’ve managed that with other great chillers. This one intrigued me since it was half the price of my last aquaeuro. It’s much smaller than I was expecting which is nice for tight cabinets. Hook up is fairly straightforward even comes with a cute little pump, line, etc…. My only complaint is that apparently I’ve gotten the newer model and the operating instructions have changed. Not really a big issue easy enough to google. Been in operation for a couple weeks now and since it’s in my bedroom I do love how quietly it runs. All in all it’s a great unit for the money, people can nitpick about the “cheapness” of the plastic connections but they do their job well. ... show more

I ordered this chiller for use while I was on vacation. I ordered it a few weeks before vacation to make sure it would work as expected. It arrived slightly damaged and I contacted Poafamx. They offered a cost adjustment rather than returning the chiller and getting a refund. I accepted and the chiller has worked well up until I went on vacation this past week. When I returned home yesterday, the tank's temperature was very high, and the chiller did not seem to be working. The external pump is pushing water through the unit, but it is not cooling it. Also, I do not hear the compressor coming on. I have contacted Poafamx and I will update my review based upon their response to the problem. ... show more

My salt water tank was getting too hot too frequently so I broke down and bought a chiller. It took about 4 hours to bring it down 7 degrees. It does generate a lot of heat but if it saves my reef then it's worth it. Easy to install even with the fact I had to make one trip to Home Depot to get connections for my tank. If you want to literally pour almost 600$ down the drain feel free to buy this peice of faulty equipment. Bought twice, should have known the first time. Stopped chilling after 1.5 years. Next one started heavily leaking with 6 months. And don't worry about buying a protection plan because no one on their companies side or amazons side can find it. Don't waste your money. I'm back to floating water bottles in my aqautic tanks switching them every 8 hours. It's been 3 days since first contacting them and it's apparent they aren't going to resolve the issue. ... show more
