Description

Does it make noise and heat during the cooling process ? YES, this means that the compressor is working normally, but the noise will never affect your daily life. Heat is produced by compressor cooling, and heat dissipation is the key to effective cooling. Chiller is leaking ? Incorrect pipe installation: check the pipe connection, pay attention to the sealing rings. Long-term use may cause the water pipe connection loose, and water leakage may occasionally occur: try to add some vacuum grease to the pipe. Chiller is not cooling ? Please note that only when the water circulation is normal, the chiller can effectively cooling water. If no circulation: the pump is placed too high, causing the water flow pressure to be too high or the pump is broken. The temperature displayed on the screen is inconsistent with the water temperature measured by other thermometers ? Influence of external factors: such as the lights in the fish tank Temp test position: the chiller detects the overall water temp while the thermometer measures at a certain location, uneven. The controller is wrong: try temperature calibration F2 The chiller is cooling worse than before, is it broken? I’ve been running this thing for about 12 hours now on my 18-gallon hydroponic/aeroponic tote, and I gotta say, ZERO leaks. Not a drip. Not a damp spot. I know how big that is when you’re running water 24/7 so I had to start with that. I set my temps to target 65°F and trigger at 68°F and it works exactly how I hoped. Most of the time it floats right around 67, which is totally fine for me. It keeps the water cool and keeps my roots happy. I’ve looked over and seen it at 65 or 66 a few times too so it’s definitely doing its job. Again no leaks at all. ZERO. Now here’s something important: follow the instructions on the box!!! If it says “do not turn it on for 24 hours” and keep it upright , do that! There’s a reason and you don’t want to ruin your unit by being impatient. As for the pump that comes with it, I did some digging and it’s only pushing about 158 GPH. Not great, especially if you’re trying to keep steady flow. I ended up switching to my Knifel 300 GPH submersible pump and the difference was night and day. Way better circulation for chilling and spraying. To protect my investments I wrap every pump I use with a foam filter, zip tie (snug not tight), then cover it with a paint strainer bag, zip tie that shut, and boom! No clogs in my sprayers or pump. Peace of mind. Install was simple. Everything worked like it should, no crazy mods or special tools needed. And now that I’ve seen it in action, I gotta say, I LOVE IT If you’re on the fence, don’t be. I was skeptical too, but now I’m all in. This chiller is doing exactly what I needed and more. Works great. Fairly quiet. Warm air is dispersed from the back of the unit so I had to change my set up a little (I mean, warm air next to the tank I’m trying to cool isn’t a good idea). Cools the water quickly and has kept it in perfect range so far (I’ve only had it installed for 1 week).

I use this product on my 75 gallon aquarium that use house axolotls, the first one they sent me worked great until I had to move the aquarium and moved the chiller, I waited 24 hours just like it said to in the directions and it did not work afterwards, the second one I got which is the one I have now works great the only issue I had is that it started overheating and I was not able to keep it underneath my aquarium storage area with the door shut oh, and needs good ventilation and even then sometimes that is not enough I had to buy a fan and run a fan blowing on it to keep it cool in order for it to do its job, this is rated for 42 gallons of water I keep my water level about 3 in from the top and I also have about 4 in of substrate my tank is about 55 maybe 60 gallons when it's all said and done and this keeps my team at a cold 60 degrees to about 65 degrees during the very hot part of the day which is around a hundred plus degrees Fahrenheit where I live so all in all I think this is worth the money but if you invest a few hundred dollars more you could get something better and more reliable which is what I might do in the future ... show more

The product description lists R290 refrigerant, however the booklet that was included with the unit says R134a -- a cheaper, less efficient refrigerant. Also, Amazon product listing shows 300W for the unit, and I have measured the power consumption to be just over 200W using a plug-in watt-meter. Even if you add the water pump (12W), it is nowhere near 300W advertised. As the result, the chiller struggles to maintain 40F degrees in 60-70F ambient air temp, running 24 hours a day nonstop. On the plus side, you can set the target temperature all the way down to 32F, but at this rate it will probably die in a couple of months before it ever gets anywhere close. Completely useless if you need it to keep your cold plunge below 40F. ... show more

Works better then I expected. My house is old and has window ac units and we needed something to keep the axolotl tank cool. Even in triple degree weather when the heat got into the high 80s-90s inside my house, the water never got above 67 degrees in the axolotl tank.
