I use this on (2) 10 gallon tanks, one line for each. I run an airstone and a foam filter in each. It is more then strong enough for my purpose. It is in the living room and is very quiet with just a slight hum. I have it sitting on a foam pad. With the amount of noise in the living room I dont hear it at all. The knob that adjust the airflow does work but does not have a good feel. Its kind of hard to turn and has to be turned alot to make the airflow change. For my needs I turned it down a little and the airflow seems to stay at the flow I set it at. It comes with some air stones hoses and valves that work fine. Good for the price. ... show more

The dial doesn't seem to adjust airflow much, but it is powerful enough to run an air stone in my quarantine tank and the sponge filter in my 40 gallon tank with ease. Overall it's surprisingly fairly quiet, though I did also place it on a piece of quilt batting to muffle additional vibration for my own preference. I really appreciate that it came with the pieces to split/join hoses and especially the backflow valves because my kitten is a little turd who has knocked a previous pump into the tank (thankfully I heard it and was able to unplug it right away) and being able to place it safely below the tank inside a cabinet without fear of backflow is a huge relief. I'm quite happy with this, I didn't have huge hopes with the price point but it's been good so far. ... show more

I bought this for my sons 2 fish tanks with 2 air stones. A 5 gallon and 3 gallon. It has a TON of power and has an adjustable power that works a bit. Both lines have backflow preventers and still works great. You can easily use this for very large tanks. I like it because it does not sound like a jack hammer which the older one we tossed was and importantly both ports actually work equally. It does have noise but not enough to disturb at night. Pro Tip - But on a small towel. Overall it feels durable and safe Recommend. ... show more

I have this set for one item currently. Pump is louder than my old one but much more power. It has a low hum and placing it on a pad does not quiet it. However, I'm sure soon we won't even notice it. I have a 75 gallon freshwater aquarium that has been running for 35 years. I have always used Tetra Whisper air pumps for my air stones.. When my current Tetra air pump failed, I went on Amazon to order another one, and found out that a brand name replacement was like $40!!! Then I saw this item from HITOP.. Suitable for 20-100 gallon aquariums.. $15, and they included a nice length of air line, two small air stones, some T connectors, and even 2 check valves (so water cannot come back down the air line during a power failure).. These accessories alone are worth a couple of bucks! As far as the air pump? Well constructed, dual outlets to power 2 airstones (or use the T connector to merge the output airlines into one airline to power a larger airstone)!! This air pump worked as advertised - right out of the box!!! I cannot comment yet on long term durability, but I can tell you this - the Tetra brand that I have been buying, which now cost $40 - have lasted an average of TWO YEARS.. So I am giving this HITOP branded air pump a chance!!! It puts out as much air as my old Tetra (which was also rated for aquariums up to 100 gallons).. The HITOP air pump is just as quiet as the old Tetra as far as noise level. And the HITOP air pump has a very nice little dial on the back that you can use to adjust airfow depending on the size of your tank..Easy to set up, and easy to use!
