I bought this to charger my Fiat 500e and now my new Tesla Model 3. The older electric dryer plug is rated at 30 amp (24 output). I think for safety on any unknown wiring system, it is better to charge at 16 amps, vs 24 amps. I would recommend not to plug in and out plug a lot and keep the charging time under 7 hours. EV’s take a lot of power and can stress home electrical wiring. Of course use a qualified electrician to check your load to your EV. Overall a very good charger. I got my electrician to install an outlet to match with the nema 10-30 plug. I am charging my 2014 BMW i3 just fine. It charges fast while charging at 16A, and while charging at 8A, it charges slow like the OEM BMW 110Volt charger. The feature to delay charging helps me trigger when the vehicle starts charging at a later time after I've already plugged it in. I was attempting to plug this unit to an 110Volt outlet, but I could not do it using an adapter.I tried using the ONETAK NEMA 5-15P to 10-30R 120V 15 Amp 3 Prong Male Plug to 3 Prong Female Receptacle Dryer Welder Power Cord Adapter. I think that the adapter is not compatible with this unit. However, without trying to use an adapter, and while using this unit properly, I find it very suitable to charge my BMW i3. ... show more

I was very impressed by how fast it charged and worried about hurting the battery with fast charge but everything seem fine with fast charging and it cuts down my electric bill by using 240 volts instead of 120. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. First off, I needed a charger when traveling. Many options but I bought this one because of the price point and the heavy duty cable. In the event I drop or drag it by accident. This charger has a built in fault system so you can feel at piece that it’s safe to connect to your car/outlet. This charger also has a hanging kick which I wanted too. I have a 30amp at my house and work and love that I can charge for free while at work with my charger. The media could not be loaded. The cable is thicker then the main competition, comes with a nice bag. Well worth the price. I paid on sale but even at full price it is still a very nice cable. I grabbed the wrong one but I'll just buy an adapter
