  • Wrong instruction book
I received the hearing aids, but they came with the wrong instruction book. i need the book to program them. the hearing aids do not hold a charge all day. I'm hoping that it is got to do with programing them. thank you and hope to hear from you soon.

  • Easy to set up, very small behind ear
Initial impression is these work well. The add says 35 hours operating but first day was about 14. Could be all the programming I tried. The adjustability was why I bought them. After several days these work well. Noise cancelation is excellent and 4 modes allow use in any circumstance. Phone app allows quick change to fit circumstances. ... show more

  • Right one died after 2 months.
My first experience with hearing aids so I have nothing to compare them to. Didn't want to spend a fortune on my first pair or deal with changing batteries. Did a lot of research and settled on these because they seemed to have a lot for the money. At first the hearing evaluation didn't work, contacted seller and they said they're working on the issue and would let me know when they get a fix. They didn't let me know but they did get it fixed. I still had to fine tune them after letting the app automatically optimize according to the evaluation but no big deal. Right away the right side would beep a couple of times to let me know the battery was getting low but the app showed it still had about a third to a quarter of a charge left. Seller just said it was normal for them to give a warning when the battery was low, but it wasn't actually low. Battery life is actually pretty long, a full day easily but it was sure annoying to get that beep with what appeared to be a lot of life left. Then after a month the right one quit charging in the right socket of the charging base. Swapped them and they worked in the opposite sides at first, then the right side quit charging all together. Had to charge one and then the other in the left side. Kind of a pain but I don't need them all day every day so I dealt with it, by now I'm past the return date anyway. A couple weeks later the right one quits all together. At first I thought maybe it just wasn't getting a good charge so I double checked and made sure the charge indicator light was on when I plugged it in. The light went out in short order indicating a full charge but there was no sound getting through, nothing. I put them both back in their original charging sockets and now both indicator lights would come on where only the left one worked before, but still nothing from the right side. It'd apparently dead. I was getting used to them and people didn't notice I was wearing them until I told them. I used them mainly for watching TV and in outside situations where I was around other people. I tried them in noisy situations, restaurants etc., but they just seemed to amplify everything so I still could barely make out what my table was talking about, no matter which mode or volume I chose, which was my biggest disappointment. Like I said, it's my first experience with hearing aids, maybe they all amplify everything equally, maybe I got a lemon, maybe you get what you pay for but I would still expect a little more life than this. Just contacted seller about a replacement so we'll see what happens ... ... show more

  • highly recommend
These hearing aids are amazing. I seldom review an Amazon purchase but I feel I should with this purchase. Fourteen years ago before I retired and still had health insurance that would help pay for hearing aids, I got a pair from an audiologist. They cost about $3,000 and my co-pay was $600. These were not top of the line. They were what the insurance company would pay for. I was never satisfied with them. If I got them adjusted, I had to make an appointment and drive over an hour to the audiologist. As time went on I quit wearing them because I couldn’t tell they were helping much. But, my hearing continued to slowly decline. These Clarigen hearing aids cost about $200 and a two year replacement warranty for about $25. So, my cost including sales tax is about $240. These work. Period. The app on my smartphone is amazing. I can adjust these in about every way I can think of. Last night I took a hearing test on the app. The results were displayed on a chart and I was given the option to “auto-optimize” my settings to correspond to the results of the hearing test I had just taken. The technology with these is simply amazing. I have noticed that when I take the hearing test available on the app and then choose the "auto-optimize" option, I hear much better. As a matter of fact, when I do this I sometimes need to turn the volume down a little. That tells me that these are truly hearing aids and not just amplifiers. And, there is more to hearing than just volume. The other day I was having lunch with my mother-in-law who will soon be 89. She got hearing aids from an audiologist about twelve years ago at a cost of $6,000. At this lunch I was telling her about these hearing aids. I asked her to try them. She was reluctant but eventually removed her $6,000 hearing aids and tried mine. I didn’t change any settings for her. She said they seemed as good as her more expensive set. I told her that her hearing aids were probably better but I doubt they are $5,800 better. Now, after wearing these for several hours per day, I am beginning to realize how much my hearing has deteriorated. When I remove these the difference is stunning. It sounds like my head is all stopped up. Apparently I didn't realize how badly I needed these. ... show more

  • charging station died after 2 months
While I am happy with the hearing aids for the reason I bought them (see below), here we are 2.5 months late and the charger has stopped working. There is no easy way to contact the company and see how to get the charger replaced. I bought these inexpensive hearing aids to wear during sporting activities like bicycling, running, going to the beach etc. This way my expensive hearing aids do not get damaged in high risk settings. The sound i fine. A little tinny. Not the quality of my Phonak, but I did not expect them to be. I do not experience wind feedback. The app is lame. Since you have to sync app to the hearing aids by Bluetooth, I was disappointed sound does not sink for phone calls. ... show more
