Overall we are happy with this chicken coop. We have 4 chickens. They seem to be doing fine with it. There is enough space for them. The assembly wasn't too difficult. It probably took us about 2 hours to assemble. It is sturdy. One piece of wood arrived with a small crack, but a small amount of wood glue fixed it in a few minutes. Probably the only negative with this coop is the wood is thin and the coating is not very weather proof. It felt almost like a primer paint. The four of us spent a few hours painting every inch of the wood. We didn't paint the roof. This is a good chicken coop. I would recommend it to a friend with the caveat that if you plan to leave this outside it must be painted or be protected from the elements. ... show more

It looks nice coop but blind but when I opened box I realized that vey cheap quality. The wood is so thin .. some part was missing and also some parts was damaged but I nailed the crack parts. Assemble process was not difficult at all. Definitely need some extra safety for the door and windows. Great for beginners I think. However won’t be last long for sure ... show more

I purchased this little coop for my young chickens that still need to be separated from the adult chickens. The product was very easy to assemble. I was able to do most of it by myself. I had help with installing the side hinges on the lid to the sleeping area. I only gave 3 stars for sturdiness because I know how destructive and nimble -fingered racoons can be so I am a little afraid they will still get in, but for the price it is as I expected. I will be adding additional locking latches on the top lid, the tray and the front doors. I placed the coop inside of a fairly secure pen that consists of three sides of a dog kennel wrapped with regular chicken wire on the sides with 2 x 4 welded wire fencing wired over the top and railroad ties on the outside on the ground and limestone blocks around the interior on the ground. I have never had anything try to dig into the pen in 7 years, but my older chickens are shut securely in a larger walk-in coop attached to the pen. This is a very nice looking product and is a good size for my six young 10-week-old Buff Orpington hens to reach maturity and be ready to go with the big girls. I partitioned off a portion of the pen for them to run around and be chickens. One thing that really impressed me was the fact that an extra piece of all of the fasteners was provided. ... show more

Ease of putting this together is what every product needs to be, from opening the boxes, laying out all the numbered/lettered product to completion it took 1 hour. Was also very happy to know it was cedar. Will definitely buy another if needed.

I would recommend this coop to anyone who wants to make sure their babies are safe when you put them away at nights. I use mine for a very spoiled Pekin Duck, and he will actually bed himself down at night because he feels protected and safe inside this coop. It is very sturdy and easy to clean.

I like that they thought of everything. The wooden dowels made it easy to assemble by myself. This is my 3rd time assembling a coop. This family included locking hinges and a simple piece of wood to hold up the nesting box lid!
