Excellent small Coop for 4 - 6 full size hens. Very easy to assemble and holes are pre-drilled. I have OverEZ coops and this was substantially easier to assemble. The top windows are only hardware cloth so I cut small pieces of wood to cover all but a little air flow.

This coop was very easily assembled, it took 30 minutes. However, in my experience it needed considerable upgrades to lengthen its usefulness and protect my chickens. I gave it a coat of John Deere implement paint, coated the floor with rubberized sealant, added extra hinges on the nesting box lid, a extra latch on the ramp, and a heavy lock on the door. Now it's ready for the flock. 5-6 chickens maximum. The perches will also need raised and a few extra added, chickens like to sit elevated. The product was damaged upon arrival box that it was shipped in showed no damage. When I took parts out quickly realized that this was not worth the money. The wood used is like basal or something similar, very lightweight and about worthless for long-term durability. In addition, the coop was covered in paint in places that should not have paint ( windows, roof material, etc.). The wood is so cheap that if you are not extremely careful, even with hand-driving screws, it will strip or split. There is also a quarter-inch gap between the coop wall and the laying box roof with any driving rain will be forced in. I will be contacting Amazon to see what can be done about this ... show more

I was hoping that the quality of materials would have been a little better than it is. But, I guess you get what you pay for. The roof seems to be well made as does the lid for the nesting area. I will be installing better door latches as the ones provided are pretty flimsy. I would also recommend putting some type of insulation on the walls and floor as the wood is very thin. I used a thin black fatigue mat and cut to size. It is going to be close quarters for the 8 chickens that I have but, they will mostly only be in it at night. Also, there was not much in the way on instructions but, it's not too hard to figure out how to assemble it. ... show more

I thought this was going to be a piece of crap, but didn't care because I just needed more space for my chickens. This took 2 weeks to arrive, but it is so cute, and very easy to assemble. The facia of the chicken coop is completely assembled already, I just had to use a screwdriver and screw it to the bottom and sides. Fairly lightweight. It took me a few hours to assemble and I'm an old lady, my husband was working so he couldn't help much. Only a screwdriver is needed. Instructions are very easy to follow. It turned out to be very sturdy. The wood is treated for outdoor use so no painting is needed. The roof pieces feel very sturdy! Both sides had doors already cut out, including a ramp for the chickens to enter. I am so glad I bought this. ... show more

It is a nice coop. The floor of the coop is a bit thin. A bit of reinforcement so it won't sag and the coop should hold up a little while longer. Well done. Especially the price. Better the the $1000 coops they sell at farm and ranch stores.
