  • Excellent value for the money and better quality than i expected. I definitely recommend Excellent value for the money and better quality than i expected. I definitely recommend
I dont normally write reviews but felt compelled to do so for two reasons. First, the product did exactly what I needed it do which was prevent hawks from getting to my chickens. Last night I was at the swing set playing with my son and heard the chickens across the yard make a noise I hadnt heard before (they were scared). I turned and looked and a large hawk was perched on the top of the fence trying to get in and couldnt! There are gaps where the roof cover meets the pole but not big enough for a hawk to get in. Second, I was a little weary of the sturdiness and quality due to the low price but was extremely surprised. It is very sturdy and in fact I didnt even stake it in the ground as I feel I dont need to. There are others that mention that its hard to put together so I was worried about that. Its not hard at all. The parts are labeled with stickers and the poles just interlock together with a button. I put this together by myself in a few hours and had no issues. The diagram is easy to follow and furthermore if you are the slightest bit 'handy' you will have no problem. The frame went together in about 15 minutes and the netting is just time consuming but just rolls out on the roof and sides without having to cut many pieces. Its the zip ties and wiring the ends together that is just a bit time consuming. I hope this helps with your decision to purchase! ... show more

  • Instructions are the weak link for this product
I was able to put this together by myself. Needed a painter ladder as I am 5'2. " Instructions are the type with all pictures and no words and left much to be desired. Many parts were unlabeled but I was able to figure things out. Better instructions and labeling would have rated five stars. That said, this product is well thought out, sturdy, and packaged well. There was plenty of wire and fencing with no need to patch and stitch. I used the wire to fortify corners against predators. Connectors are solid workmanship. steel tubing is strong. I encourage you to take time to lay out all the pieces before starting to reduce the annoyance of unlabeled parts. I used a 12'x16' tarp instead of the provided tarp. That is a matter of preference. Also, use the provided zip ties only to hold things in place while you install the better zip ties. Go to Lowe's and get the same number of heavy-duty UV rated zip ties to avoid having to patch things up as the included ones inevitably fail. I spent about $9 for 250. I added 4' hardware cloth for added security against predators. It takes about 50' to go around the whole coop. I'm using this product to make a chicken tractor. I'll post a picture later. ... show more

  • great chicken run and even better customer service.
This run arrived on time, was easy to put together and has kept our chickens safe for a long time. We had a record snow fall and the middle imploded due to the abnormal amount of snow, I reached out to the seller and they very promptly and pleasantly helped me with the parts that needed attention. Great seller and great product. Make sure to place a beam in the middle if you live in a snowy area and a clear tarp keeps the chickens in sunlight and not snow, but the beam is necessary. We are very pleased with this run and the seller. ... show more

  • Fast delivery. Great customer service. Well built product.
I am very happy with not only the chicken coop, but with the fast delivery and the customer service. My packages arrived days before the scheduled delivery. There was some confusion because 1 package arrived a day before the other one. When I reached out to customer service they responded quickly and gave me the second tracking number. I was able to put the structure together by myself. Then it took 2 of us to attach the chicken wire. The install was straight forward with easy to follow instructions for the structure. I did have to watch their video to get an idea as to how best to attach the chicken wire, but that step was also easy to do. It just took a little while to complete that step. The only recommendation I would suggest would be to include better quality tie wraps. Some of those broke as we were installing the wiring. But that in no way takes away from the excellent quality of this product. ... show more

  • Be prepared to spend hours completing the assembly Be prepared to spend hours completing the assembly
I bought two of these. The frame takes 45 minutes to put together, the rest of the assembly will take you about 8 hours. The instructions for installing and attaching the chicken wire are vague at best but luckily i found a video from someone that purchased one of these coops and he explained how he completed that part of the assembly. Each coop comes in 3 boxes, 5 of the 6 boxes came together and 3 days later box 6 showed up. The second coop, the door assembly, you can see the pop out tabs that connect everything together were missing but i was able to secure the door together with an extra bolt that came in the kit. The coop works great, it is just labor intensive to put together with the limited instructions. ... show more

  • Get it for the frame and plan on upgrading the rest yourself. Get it for the frame and plan on upgrading the rest yourself.
Firstly, the product is... decent... for the price. The frame was easy to assemble and seems solidish. The gate latch and hinges, the tarp cover, and the hardware cloth are all rock bottom cheap though. You can seriously tear the 'chicken wire' with your bare hands. Dull kitchen scissors cut it up like butter, so any predator would too. So get this thing if you want a decent bare kit of bones to upgrade yourself. My main problem was that it was supposed to come in three boxes: A, B, and C, but they shipped us two As, one B, and no C. Guess which one had the joints? And the instructions? And then even after we got the C box, one of the hinge pieces was missing and I had to run to the store and buy a replacement myself (the black hinge piece pictured). ... show more

  • Great value for a DAYTIME chicken run. Great value for a DAYTIME chicken run.
This is a great product. It does have flaws, but it's NOT a chicken coop. So, here's a really honest review: When you first put the frame together, which was exceedingly simple, and I did it all by myself, it seems wobbly, HOWEVER, once the wire is on, it's super sturdy. I'm not sure why everyone is complaining about the wire, as it's CHICKEN WIRE. Chicken wire is inherently thin and NOT predator proof. This chicken wire is probably the best quality I've ever seen and it's very sturdy. If you want better quality, you'll need hardware cloth, which is way sturdier and WAY more expensive. This is not meant to permanently house chickens and you WILL need a coop inside it. Mine in the picture is the Producer's Pride Sentinel that I've painted with white exterior semi gloss to extend its life. As a run, you can't beat this. I did make some additions. First off, don't bother with the stupid nylon zip ties except to basically hold the wire in place before you stitch it all up by wrapping the included wire around the entire frame at two inch intervals. Yes, it's a right pain in the butt but the cable ties are garbage and many of them broke AS I WAS INSTALLING THEM. I also purchased some stainless steel zip ties and used them at crucial junctions in the frame like the center of each pole, the corners and the top joints. There's PLENTY of chicken wire to complete it. What you need to do is go from the ground, over the top (this I absolutely needed help with because the roll of wire kept unspooling lengthwise and it took two people to heft it over the peak) and then back to the ground, twice. There's no need to overlap the wire as it will be wired to the frame at each edge. Then, go from bottom to top on the ends. There will be overlap here. You'll need 2 in the back and 3 in the front door. Place the first front section in the middle directly over the door WITHOUT CUTTING IT. Once it's all wired together, wire around the door and THEN cut out the door so you'll have minimal gaps. I had plenty of chicken wire left to double up the predator line AND go over the very small gap in the door (you'll only be able to open the door outward if you cover the gap.) Use wire weaving to stitch up the overlaps. The couple of issues I have with the run is that the butterfly latch on the door is VERY difficult to operate and tends to catch on the wire, and that the whole frame sits about a half inch to an inch off the ground, leaving plenty of space for small animals to get in. I made sure to extend the chicken wire about three inches over the ground on every side and then tacked it down with 12" landscape staples about two inches apart all the way around (yup, also a pain in the tookus) to prevent anything digging under, including the chickens. I have about 20 feet of chicken wire left over for eventual repairs or reinforcement. If you want, go over the bottom 24" with hardware cloth as well. You still can't leave your chickens out in this OVERNIGHT as it's not secure enough from predators because it's NOT A CHICKEN COOP. A hungry fox or raccoon with enough time WILL chew through it. Heck, A raccoon might even figure out the latch. There enough space in the latch to install a small padlock through one hole that will prevent the latch from lifting all the way. The tarp is ok. It's reflective on one side and, since I live in New Mexico, I put the reflective side up. I ended up securing the top center holes with stainless steel zip ties because the loops included were IMPOSSIBLE to affix in those areas, so I'll need tin snips to replace the tarp when necessary, but it's great otherwise. Overall, I'm very happy with it, just ditch the plastic ties and expect it to take several days to put together because of the wire wrapping, landscape staples, and the like. WEAR GLOVES. Even with fence gloves, my hands were raw after two days of wrapping and tightening wire. Don't listen to the negative reviews about how it's not sturdy or the wire is weak. It's CHICKEN WIRE... CHICKEN WIRE... Not hardware cloth and you SHOULDN'T be leaving chickens in it with no other shelter. For the last time, IT'S NOT A CHICKEN COOP, it's a daytime run. It's a great value. ... show more
