    • Our nesting boxes are clean
I feel that keeping the area clean makes for healthier chickens and, in turn, better eggs. I have tried other brands but the padding on these are much more dense and, at least with my chickens, they hold up better. I like how these pads can be rolled up and thrown in the composter when they get too dirty. The whole thing is natural and biodegradable and the chickens make themselves right at home on them.     • Love that they are boxed
Prior to this, we purchased from TSC and their nesting pads are just in a plastic bag which was kind of a pain to get them out without making a mess. With the box, there is less mess for us. The chickens could care less, but I appreciate the box.

My chickens really like this product. Before I purchased these for them, I used wood shavings and straw and they were kicking it all out of the nest box. Eggs were broken and cracked and some on the floor. But now that I’ve started using these nesting pads all the eggs stay in the nest box, and none of them get cracked. ... show more

I got these ahead of schedule. My chicks are only about 12 weeks old and won't be laying for another 10 to 12 weeks. However I have their nests boxes blocked off at the moment and only access is from the outside. I installed the nest in each box. My boxes are 12x12 and the nest pads are 13x13. They do fit but have to curve up the sides. We'll see if the chickens fluff up the pad material when they start laying. ... show more

    • Much easier to use than bedding!
When we first ordered these nest pads, our chickens turned their noses up and wouldn’t use them and my husband left a so so review. I’m the one who cleans the pens and coops most often now though and these nest pads are so much easier to keep clean than putting bedding in the nest boxes! Our chickens eventually came around too and they all use them now. I wish they were a bit cheaper because I have a LOT of chickens so I go through quite a few nest pads.
