  • Use the chicken wire to your advantage during installation
Size: 228.1"L x 108.0"W x 78.0"H
First, I'm giving it 5 stars because for $200, it's fantastic. If you want a sturdy, bear proof run, you'll need to build it with wood and hardware cloth, and prayers. This size will set you back at least a thousand bucks and require much more time and effort to build. This is a lightweight, inexpensive run to keep chickens in, not to prevent predation. I built this as a run to attach to my coop so my birds have more freedom but are still fenced so they can't scratch up my newly planted gardens. We are also done tripping in their little ankle busting dust baths that they make all over our property! I'm using an automatic door to allow them access to the run during the day. At night, they'll be safely tucked into a secure coop my husband built with... You guessed it... Wood and hardware cloth. The run goes together easily enough if you are careful to use the correct poles and place them correctly. It's also easy to move said poles when you realize you put them in the wrong way. Everyone is saying that they used an abundant amount of zip ties and this is why I came to leave a review. The chicken wire easily wires to itself. Snip a little section and wrap around and around a few times. Wear good gloves. I also wrap it around the poles and use the wire to attach to itself. It also comes with a really long piece of wire that is used to keep the roll in place. Use that too! I find it much easier to wire it to itself, and to use wire instead of all those zip ties. I use a few zip ties for additional help and for holding things in place while I cut the wire and get the tension in the right places. But for the majority of the attachment, use the wire itself! I'm also going to modify the build just to give the roof a little more support. I plan to run a cable parallel to the middle support bar on the top maybe 2 ft on each side just to prevent the wire from sagging. For the price, this is a great addition to my existing coop. ... show more

  • Great Coop, Easy Setup with a Few Simple Improvements
Size: 79.2"L x 108.0"W x 78.0"H
This chicken coop was very easy to assemble, and the overall structure feels solid once fully set up. The size is great for chickens, ducks, or even rabbits, and the cover provides good protection from sun and rain. One tip: I highly recommend adding extra zip ties at the joints to make the structure more secure and stable. It only takes a little extra time but makes a big difference. Also, the latch is a bit short, especially if your ground is uneven—it can sometimes come loose. I suggest adding an extra hook or tying it with a rope for better security, especially at night. Always make sure the door is fully closed and secured. Overall, very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it with these small improvements! ... show more

  • Not high end but worth it for the price.
Size: 228.1"L x 108.0"W x 78.0"H
You are paying for the base frame and door only - the rest of it is garbage, YOU WILL NEED MODIFICATIONS. Check reviews for how people modified theirs. Here's what I did: I used it to house my vegetable garden and keep squirrels, chipmunks etc out. Frame is very easy to put together with two people. You can walk it around if you need to move it. The chickenwire and zip ties that come with this coop are trash. I bought heavy duty hardware cloth separately and "sewed" it on using both galvanized wire and steel zip ties (be careful of sharp edges if youre keeping animals). The roof will sag at the corners if you don't add an extra bar/T clamp like another person shared in her review. I layered up the cheap chickenwire and used it to line the floor so nothing could dig in, then covered with dirt and mulch. Dig those walls into the ground (friend also buries broken glass for her coop), added a brick perimeter too for good measure, used U shaped trampoline stakes to hold the structure down. For the gaps in the door you can use greenhouse panel to close them off. It is easy to cut. Drill holes in the panel and use the wire/metal zip ties to secure to the door frame. The lock that comes with the coop is also trash. I zip tied two blocks of wood onto the door and frame and screwed on a door latch i bought separately (Its a gravity lock so I put a string in case I accidentally locked myself in). I also used a gate anti-sag kit to strengthen the door and keep it from warping. The entire setup has worked all summer with no issue. Nothing got in except me and the bees! ... show more

  • Good value for customization
Size: 79.2"L x 108.0"W x 78.0"H
I didn’t buy this as a chicken coop—I’m using it as a base for a garden enclosure long term. Right now it’s just set up as-is, not fully reinforced yet, but I’ve seen other reviews and photos where people added hardware cloth and made it much more secure. The size works well for my backyard and gives me a good starting frame for what I plan to build. It’s easy to set up and useful as a base, though it feels a bit light, so I’ll probably reinforce it for wind later. Overall still a good value if you plan to customize it. ... show more

  • Overall decent cage.
Size: 228.1"L x 108.0"W x 78.0"H
This cage was easy to put together, I did it by myself. It seemed a little wobbly but got a little more sturdy once I put the chicken wire on it. I would highly recommend buying your own chicken wire, the wire provided was not good at all, very flimsy. I put two young turkeys in the cage and they tore three separate holes and got out on the first night, predators could very easily break in. I would also recommend using your own thicker zip ties, the ones provided snapped easily. I was very happy with the amount of space in the cage and I liked the provided cover. ... show more

  • Worth the price: Will need upgrades for safety
Size: 78.0"L x 108.1"W x 78.0"H
It was fairly easy to assemble and took around 4 hours. Probably wouldn't have taken so long but the GA heat is no joke. One issue however is some of the poles were drilled on the wrong side so a few of the nipple locks proved unusable. The door does bend a little when opening and closing, but it wouldn't take anything to run a brace across it. We ran hardware cloth along the bottom as well as boards to prevent predators from getting in, and it has worked nicely so far keeping them safe. I also built a coop on the outside and cut the chicken wire to open into the coop. The chicken wire it came with is thinner and more flimsy than what you would normally see at a feed store. Just to keep that in mind. I've had this pen for 9 months now and it is serving its purpose well. My chickens only stay in it at nighttime and free range during the day. There is a little bit of rust forming along the edges but nothing major. I actually ordered a 2nd pen of the same brand to connect the two together as my hens hatch out new babies I'll need the space and this size would only have enough room for about 6 chickens. All in all it works great and the price is nice. ... show more

  • Terrible product
Size: 79.2"L x 108.0"W x 78.0"H
The door to this setup broke within a month. I don’t mean like a small fix. It’s broken in to a pieces on the edge of the door and you can’t open or close it anymore. Animals are constantly getting in because the door is not usable anymore. places. It was easy to set up. And space is and room inside is good but if you’re using for chickens or any small livestock definitely wouldn’t recommend for that purpose. Very cheap quality. Even the metal ad you’re assembling it is very thin and feels as if it will break just assembling the pieces together. Definitely wouldn’t waste my money on this product. ... show more

  • Good
Size: 79.2"L x 108.0"W x 78.0"H
Works fine for my chickens. We move it every week. Ground can't be too uneven or they'll find a way out! The frame is not very strong; we reinforced part of it with wood to make moving it easier; otherwise it could bend and break. It was easy to put up but took a bit of work.We decided to get it after a hawk Raccoon in our open chicken run. ... show more
