This is the second book in Micalea’s The Boys series and I just can’t stop reading these books. This one is a bit of a slow burn but the want is there, and the tension is the best. Cole got his heart bruised in the last book, and because of that he plans to keep his head down, study for his last year and focus on basketball. What he didn’t plan for is his roommate flaking out on him leaving him to worry how he’s going to make his rent. But then in walks Zoey, to say she is beautiful is an understatement, and now he has to decide what is actually important in his life. Zoey has had a lot of disappointment and change in her life. Now she’s starting over at a new school, with a new roommate who seems too good to be true. Read this book! Read this series! Micalea creates worlds that I would like to be a part of. The characters in this series are almost impossible not to love. I’m so excited for the next book, because I cannot wait to see what she has in store for my absolute favorite character in this series so far.

Cole and Zoey’s story had such a natural progression and comforting feel to it. While I was drowning in the tension waiting for them to break the ice and get together, I actually really enjoyed the way they waited and got to know each other on a deeper level. I liked that they knew all the nitty gritty details about each other before they committed to being together. Zoey’s hesitation were so valid and understandable, she came off as a relatable character. And Cole was honestly SUCH a nice guy and I couldn’t really fault him in any way. He was sweet, understanding, major care taker, and just all around a GOOD GUY. The lack of major conflict in this book was refreshing and it gave the story a comforting feel.

I loved everything about Cole and Zoey’s story. College, sports, friends to lovers, the emotion the characters felt. I loved how sweet and caring Cole was. He’s definitely a book boyfriend contender! The way he was with Zoey just melted my heart. Zoey was a tough shell to crack, and based on her past it’s easy to see why. When they both let go and give into their feelings for the other, it becomes such a love story that was made to be written. I can’t wait to see what the author comes up with for the next book in the series.

Told in dual POV, Coke is probably the sweetest kindest character you will ever find. Like he was absolutely raised by his mama and a gaggle of sisters! Zoey is an onnly child and the chemistry between them starts right away, this is a very sweet read with HEA.

This was a first from this author for me and it gave me all the feels… Cole is moving into his apartment with one of his friends. That friend bails on him last minute and Cole knows he needs to find another roommate asap to be able to afford the place. Zoey is a new student and her housing gets mixed up leaving her without housing for the year and this is how they meet. They become roommates with mutual respect and the attraction is there but they are both trying to not be the one to screw up their situation… The things: -Wholesome… this is the best way for my to describe this story. It was a relatable, down home, wholesome love story. -Cole is a college student playing basketball but he isn’t a typical jock. He’s studious, driven and he’s down to earth. He works as a mechanic after classes, he’s wanting his degree before trying to enter the draft for NBA. He cleans after himself, he’s from a normal family and drives and old truck. He’s got manners, and he’s the only brother with 4 sisters, he’s RESPECTFUL always to Zoey and he is SOOOOOOO KIND. 🥰❤️ -Zoey is in college, a transfer student after leaving a bad breakup and just wanting to start over. Her moms recently passed from cancer and so she’s attending the school her dad works at, since it’s kinda the only place she has left. She’s got damage but we don’t see her moping the whole story which is new and i love it! She’s gotta work on her relationship with her dad, she’s gotta move past the betrayal of her x. -Cole and Zoey are BOTH BIRACIAL!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 this js sooooo uncommon and I loveddd this! -No stupid BS drama. There is no miscommunication, no OP drama, they just are fighting their attraction bc they bother are scared after a year of heartache. -Good side characters. I loved teddy whose book is next. He’s the rich kid whose OTT goofy and you know it’s because he’s hiding behind it all. So I can’t wait to see him get serious lol. -No smexy time till like 70-80%.. I didn’t feel it too much because their is tension bc they are fighting their attraction buttttt 70% was a whole to wait and I wish it happened before hand. When it does happen it’s nice, it’s not dirty but that wouldn’t fit this story so it’s sweet. -H is not aggressive, he says please and even though I normally don’t like that it def fits coles personality. -HEA with a 2 year epilogue. This is a sweeter and more slower type that I usually like but it really fit this storyline and was written EXTREMELY well. I enjoyed it even without any spanking, and aggressive alpha male behavior lol. We get a little bit of jealous possessive moments but nothing notable. I think I will read the next book 🤗

OMGGGG! What an outstanding slow burn!! Cole Anderson is what dreams are made of. I loved him since BBBH but he sure shined on his own book. He is just the perfect guy. Smart, polite, steady, gentlemanly. Zoey is his perfect match, she challenges him in so many ways. They have the perfect push and pull, their chemistry is of the charts and when we FINALLY get to give into their feelings.. it’s just outstanding! I absolutely loved and adored this book. I identified with many things about Zoey and even Cole. They aren’t perfect but they do complement each other beautifully. Loved Teddy, he was the lightness that this book needed at times. I can’t wait to read his book next.

After Cole's heart is broken when Rory fell for Mascen, he decides to concentrate on his studies and basketball. When his friend, Sam, lets him down regarding accommodation, Zoey is in the right place at the right time and is accepted as the new roommate. Both have something in their past they don't want to reveal. Needless to say, they hit it off and both come to rely on each other. This is the second book in the series and I have every intention of adding the remainder to my library. This author has captured me with her way of sharing a story, that it feels like you are in their world, rooting for them to succeed.

Nice Guys Don't Win was an awesome read. I liked Cole in the first book in the series, Bad Boys Break Hearts and now I like him even more in his book. Cole was just the sweetest. He is just the all-around good guy but he sure had a racy side to him. Zoey is my homegirl hehe. I loved the toughness she showed but also the sensitive side. Cole and Zoey together were great. They had intense chemistry and the friendship they first develop was incredible. It was nice to see the friendship blossom into more as the story progressed. It was definitely a slow burn romance. I also enjoyed the side character of Teddy, he was a hoot. I'm excited for his book coming next. There is more to that boy. It was good to see previous characters such as Mascen and Rory as well. Overall, Nice Guys Don't Win was a sweet, swoony, fun story.
