I can't speak highly enough of Omlet - they really understand chickens, customers, and customer service. If only every company operated this way! This is the first review I've ever felt compelled to write, simply based on how thoughtfully Omlet develops their products and serves their customers. I've owned several Omlet products, and their customer service really is outstanding, as are their manuals and instructional videos. I ended up losing some parts for my Autodoor, years after my initial purchase when moving the door to a new coop, and Omlet sent me the package that I needed - no questions asked and no invoice. I recently ended up needing another few screws that went missing in a move, and consulted the manual online which clearly had every screw labeled with dimensions so it was incredibly easy to replace. The Cube is no exception to Omlet's awesomeness - it went together in a couple of hour long sessions, and my girls took to it, after some gentle coaxing, within a couple of days. Everything is so easy to move, access & clean. I do miss the lofty ceilings of their old custom made wooden coop, however the girls don't seem to mind at all. The large nesting box is awesome, and I love being able to use wood shavings for nesting rather than expensive nesting pads. My cost and effort on procuring pine shavings and nesting pads has been eliminated, as now we just use wood shavings entirely. My only recommendation for improvement to Omlet would be to have the locking device for the large door access pre-installed, like it is on the nesting box. It has been no hardship though to not have this already in place. I look forward to years of happy girls and yummy eggs in their mid-century modern Cube. I'd highly recommend Omlet products to anyone that loves chicken keeping!! ... show more

Pros: Cool design, extremely sturdy, rainproof, easy access and cleaning. Cons: Expensive! Complicated assembly but all the parts were there. Instructions were so-so, lots of skipping around depending on whether you buy the attached run or not (I didn't.) Now I need to partially disassemble it to add the optional automatic door :( My girls are happy to lay their eggs in it, but so far won't sleep in it. I wanted to get away from the cheaply made 'cute' houses that barely last one season, and this fits the bill. Will update once the auto door is in. ... show more

I did extensive research on a backyard chicken coop and the Omlet Cube is by far the finest designed, best manufactured chicken coop I found. It is fabricated from blow-molded polypropylene and all metal framing is finished in their Omlet green paint. The hardware and brackets appear to be stainless steel. The entire design is very well thought through. Each accessory fits seamlessly into the coop assembly. And I was very impressed with their assembly instruction booklets. They are written in clear concise instructions and superbly 3D CAD generated drawings. The assembly was straight forward and easy to do. For anyone considering getting into backyard chickens for eggs, this coop will undoubtedly be the most fuss-free one to purchase. Fair warning...it is not the least expensive, in fact I found it to be the most expensive one. I liken it to a Mercedes Benz... you pay for the best...but it is worth it. There are an assortment of accessories available for the Omlet coops from the runs, automatic coop door, coop light, and wheels and handles for easy movement around your yard. These were not available from Amazon, but are available directly from Omlet. ... show more

I have a flock of 6 hens. All our average sizes, though three are small-avg. They pile in every night, and no need to worry if you add the auto door. Assembling requires two people. It helps if a person can hold the pieces in place while another assembles. That way, you get a tight seal. Our girls could not be happier. Coop can be a little warm in mid-west heat waves. I have the ability to leave the poop cater off to cool the ladies during hot nights. ... show more

I really like it. Easy to clean. Very sturdy. I bought the wheels, and automatic door for it too. One thing though, and maybe this doesn't happen to everyone's, but the one I got, rain water somehow seeps into the poop tray especially if the coop is not on really level ground. For the price, that was a little disappointing and reason for the 4-stars. But aside from that I'm happy with my purchase. ... show more

We have been using ours for over two years as a chicken tractor with the added chicken run enclosure and we love it. Keeping chickens has had its ups and downs, but having a great coop to start with has made it so much more easier for us.
