Went together very easily but with one exception - the screws. These #2 square drive screws stripped while installing frequently. We then used Kreg XL (4 inch) pocket hole screws instead, and that made the process much smoother. We modified the coop by extending the legs by two feet using plates and Simpson screws to append sections of 4x4. This allowed us to use the space below the coop to expand the attached run area.

I've been wanting this coop for about a year now and my husband surprised me with it for Christmas! Shipping to our location took about 3 weeks but it arrived in great condition. There were a few small flaws in the pre assembled pieces but I think that's expected in a hand built coop. Overall it is amazing and none of the flaws affect the performance of the chicken coop. The sturdiness is top notch, my husband and I were both inside of the coop during installation and it didn't budge a bit. The Size of this coop is perfect for us as it houses up to 15 chickens, we almost got the smaller size but im glad we went for this larger one as we now plan on a few more chicks I'm spring. OverEZ really knows Chicken health and care and making things easy going on chicken owners. Value for money on their products is no question at all. We all know you get what you pay for and with all Over EZ Products you are absolutely getting that high quality product for a fair asking price. After tracking this coop for several years, finally made the purchase and we wish we had bought it sooner. We have a backyard flock with 2 Brahmas (one of the largest breeds), a Buff Orpington, Australorp, and 3 Easter Eggers. Backstory: Our old coop was a homemade one we picked up for free on Craigslist. It was on the small side and had one nesting box that 2 chickens could use at once. We modified and painted it over the years and added the automatic door with timer from incubator warehouse (highly recommend that addition). All was fine for a while as the flock fluctuated between 5-8 birds over the years. Then, the feed store had Brahma chicks and, as they grew bigger, they discovered roosting in trees! All the past year after they began laying (and getting very large in stature), we would have to go out on a steep hill to a low Apple branch they roosted in, grab them, and carry them into the coop. We suspected they wanted more indoor space since they used to sleep in the old coop when young, putting themselves to bed independently. That is when we began looking for the "permanent solution." By now, we knew we would not be going chicken-free as we had the flock since 2013. Finally, the price on the OverEZ coop dropped enough, and we were able to secure free shipping, and a Prime promotion/deal, which made it the best possible price we had seen over the years we had been looking. The coop arrived on a large truck and the worker used a motorized dolly to place it in the yard. A level spot that is big enough will be needed. A standard driveway will hold the package. We unpacked and it is lucky the coop comes in panels because it took muscle to get it into the back. Ours was in good shape. The only thing is that one windowpane is upside down, but this does not affect the look or functionality at all. This is the large coop, so be prepared for that! The heaviest piece was the front, with the windows and nesting box door. Get it level and square so the roof fits. Ours was challenging because there was a tree right next to it that we had to work around so the roof was slightly off until we could deal with that. Installation was incredibly easy considering. A lot of thought went into making this a fast setup as even the screws are started. Instructions were clear and there is an animated app of the installation. Our specific site was an extremely tight fit or it could have been done within an hour with two adults in reasonable shape. As it was, we had to level, jiggle and more to get the best position. The automatic door from the old coop fit perfectly on this one. We used a large, modular dog kennel for a run. The chicken reaction was astonishing. After 2 days of putting them in there by hand and after programming the door for sunrise and sunset we came home one evening to discover all the chickens (including the tree-loving Brahmas) perching on the roosting bars! Every single chicken was inside in time for the door to close! We are beyond excited to have the safely housed again. The only thing left is to get them to lay in the boxes. The Australorp has brooded in there, so looks hopeful. Update: 9/1/2022: They are laying in the nesting box now. Brahmas rebelled when we installed an automatic light too close to the windows though and went back to the trees to roost, so we are moving the lights to the large door instead in the hopes that fixes it. Update 12/21/22: All chickens are roosting inside every night for months now. We have lots of predators right over the fence: coyotes, opossum, skunks, raccoons, eagles, and hawks to name a few. The coop has kept them secure. You want to close the windows entirely at night though if you don't replace the screens with hardware cloth. Raccoons will be able to rip through a regular screen though we have not had this happen. So far all are fine.

*Edit* This is a sturdy coop but do not be fooled by their "up to 15 chickens" claim for the large. I have 10 and it is crowded since their design puts the roosting bars too close together and does not leave many options for modifications. I'd say 8 would be an ideal number for this Large coop. Love this coop! I had planned on building my own but time is always an issue for me and I knew I already had to build a run. It went together easily but you will need an extra set of hands to hold walls in place as you screw together and assemble. I did make some modifications that you can see in the photos: 1) added 2 ft legs as the legs that come on it are only 8 inches and I wanted the birds to be able to get under the coop and myself as well for cleaning purposes. 2) added linoleum flooring to make cleaning easier. 3) added hardware cloth over the bottom (they offer panels but they are way overpriced in my opinion and fit the 8 inch legs). I will say, there were some manufacturing issues including nails missing the studs, ceiling and wall panels not lining up appropriately, and some small gaps (examples shown in photos) but they were relatively easy fixes and customer service was great offering some options to make it right. Overall it's a great coop, seems solid, and the girls love it.

This is a decent coop that is easy to assemble but is made of particle board and comes damaged with paint rubbed off and torn up edges etc. i’ve seen similar reviews. They know it bc they send little cans of paint for you to do repairs. Good coop otherwise but not worth thr money if you’re able to build your own

Our girls absolutely love this chicken coop! We have 12 laying hens and it has plenty of room for them to roost in at night and several nesting boxes for them to lay in with the outside lid to retrieve the eggs... With the big entrance door on the one end makes it easy to keep clean... The style and craftsmanship is nice and sturdy and will last several years... Besides being cute, the windows help with the ventilation...
