ADDENDUM 9/2023: THIS IS WHY IT FAILS I was bothered by the early failure of this hose despite no sign of external damage to the fabric outer layer and general good care of the item. So I took it apart to look at the rubber hose inside--it's a white rubber hose that is designed to stretch a little when pressurized, though only some since stretch is restricted by the outer fabric jacket. See the photos: notice that the hose has a tendency to lay flat when it's empty. There is a longitudinal split in the rubber along this bend from having been stored for a long time while folded up in the box. But it didn't split in any random location: it was clear that the split was in an area where it had been folded 180 degrees to pack flat in the box. See photo. I looked at other areas of bending (they seemed to be every 12 inches or so and there is evidence of early cracking in similar bend areas. So many spots just waiting to split open. If this specific location of where the hose failed hadn't opened up there were innumerable others waiting to split. My conclusion: the hose is well made but was packaged too tightly in the box and subjected to extreme/prolonged sharp bends that led to damage--before it was even removed by the consumer! So no matter how well you care for the hose, it's already damaged by the time you get it from thoughtless packaging. Star rating decreased from 3--> 2 *** original review: I am still searching for a quality lightweight hose for use in the garden. This one seemed to be well built and I kept it out of the sun and brought it inside during the winter (cold winters here) but after bringing it back out this past summer it developed a leak in the midsection. I don't get it since it only got light use watering the garden and was generally treated well. We don't have high water pressure here (I monitor the pressure). Seems like it should have lasted longer. Will need to keep looking... ... show more

I would like to caution with regard to this product. It is everything it claims and they say to disconnect after use. If you are like me and many others it is easy to let the hose stay connected to your faucet. The problem is that the connector on the hose is aluminum and your faucet is brass. When aluminum and brass stay connected there is a process that causes them to weld together. A previous hose I had did this and I could not disconnect them later in the year. I had to get a plumber who had to replace my faucet. This can be remedied by getting plastic quick connects for your faucet and hose. I just ant to save someone from going to the expense that I had. I am writing this on 20 AUG 2023. I have purchased 5 of the Agua Joe Fiber Jacket hoses this summer (since 31 MAY 2023). I purchased two 25 foot hoses, two 50 foot hoses, and one 100 foot hose. In less than 80 days, three (3) of the five (5) have ruptured. I have checked the water pressure several times and even have a pressure regulator on the entire house to prevent anything like this from happening. All three times it was the male end rupturing right where it connects with the hose. I really like Aqua Joe's products. I have three of the but Hybrid Polymer Flex Kink Free Hoses and have not had a single problem with any of those. I also have 2 of the Heavy Duty Indestructible Metal Multi Function Adjustable Hose Nozzle with Smart Throttle and 7 Indestructible Metal Base Oscillating Sprinkler with Adjustable Spray and have not had any problems with any of these other devices. Just the black Fiber Jacket hoses. I do not recommend the Fiber Jacket hoses and will not buy any in the future. ... show more

I had 2 that I bought from Amazon and 1 that was a replacement. I don't know what is going on , but this has happened within a month and a half. I bought another one from Amazon that is a different style and has lasted 2 months.

I have had a couple of these. They are too bad. They kind of kink but it’s easy to get them flowing. The small diameter makes water pressure a little lower and if you can get two years out of them, you’re lucky. But not bad for a lightweight hose.
