I lost hope of ever having a yard hose I liked using. This metal hose glides around lightly and smoothly. No BS, this is a great hose. I use it 2 times a week, pull it off the hose reel and it just shimmys down the pavers. Hahaha

I ordered my Bionic Hose in Summer 2023 after seeing some positive reviews online. By April 2024, it sprung a small leak in the middle of the hose. Also, the sprayer attachment cracked. I liked the hose, but was very disappointed that it broke so quickly. The box advertises a 5-year warranty, so I expected it to last for 5+ years. That said, on Mon 4/8/24 I tried calling the Emson Customer Support number on my Amazon Order page, and to my pleasant surprise, someone picked up the phone quickly. She asked me for my shipping info, and created a replacement order for me. She just asked me to email them a copy of my Amazon receipt. By Wed 4/10/24, I received a reply to my email saying a replacement hose had been shipped. The brand new hose arrived 1 week later on Wed 4/17/24. Next year, I will remove my hose before the winter and store it in my house. I suspect that the damage was due to the cold weather (although it's not that cold where I live). I still give the hose a 5-star rating, because it's lightweight, doesn't kink, and customer service was fantastic.

I purchase my 100ft hose in June 2020 and still think it’s one of the best hoses I own and as an avid gardener, I own many. It’s lightweight, does not twist and kink, and will work perfectly even if tangled up. The only downside to this hose is that it’s not really as durable as advertised. Earlier this Spring, my husband accidentally drove over it with our Toyota Highlander and the hose got a little flattened where the tyre went over it, but the real damage occurred to the hose end that connects to the water source. The hose end got slightly flattened. It would still connect to the spigot, but couldn’t create a seal causing a leak at the connection. I contacted Bionic Steel customer service and they wasted no time in replacing the hose for me. They didn’t have the Bionic Steel PRO in stock at the time but offered to replace it with the HydroSteel PRO Hose of the same length. While I really hate the HydroSteel after using it, I don’t think it should negatively reflect on the Bionic Steel Hose or their Customer Service. I would buy Bionic Steel Hoses again in a heartbeat, and I probably will to save my wrists from this HydroSteel PRO Hose!

I use this hose for watering plants and washing cars but do not drag it over your car! I liked the lightweight ease of use. The hose I.D. may be 5/8 inch as stated but the fittings I.D. is more like 5/16 inch. You get pressure or volume at the output end of the hose but not both. Pull back the fitting cover and you will see an impressive array of fittings & hoses. The short clear section is curious in that it cannot be the same as what is under the armor due to the fact that it is the same O.D. as the armor. So what is its function I wonder? The worst feature is the smell of the undrinkable water coming out; a super strong plastic odor! Its no wonder the enclosed literature states "WARNING: THE BIONIC STEEL PRO IS NOT INTENDED FOR DRINKING WATER USE" all in caps! Too bad that bit of information is not in the original advertisement. Quality seems good but have not had it long enough to rate. UPDATE: 3/19/2025, its been just over 3 years of the 5 year warranty. The hose has failed! A major leak internally has rendered it useless. The water just spills out through the steel casing. There is no way to remove the casing to inspect the flexible inner hose. The hose has always been well cared for and stored depressurized on a spool as recommended by the manufacturer. Operating pressure was always 70 to 75 psi. Bell & Howell Support said due to the fact that I live in Hawaii, they will not ship a replacement. They recommended I ask Amazon for customer support which I did. Results are pending. I will update this review accordingly. UPDATE 4/4/2025: After working with Bell & Howell support, Emson sent a replacement hose at no cost except that I had to pick it up in California and I did that. New hose works fine. I never got a response from Amazon so if you are reading this you can disregard. Upgraded to 4 stars.

I started by buying a 30' Bionic hose. It was so great that I bought a 50' one and then a 75' one. The 50 and 75' hoses are their "Pro" ones. I haven't had any trouble with any of them after several months. They are lightweight and they don't kink. I hated dragging around the standard hose, even if high quality. Now, I spot water without any thinking because it's so easy. I didn't use their nozzles. I hold my nozzle with one hand and wind up the hose quickly with the other. I have one hose left that's a standard. It, like my other old ones, is in perfect condition. I feel guilty about replacing them but the Bionic is so much better and so easy to use. I live in southern California so I don't know how the hoses work in very cold weather.

I bought this item last year and while I have only had it for a year, I can say I LOVE IT. I actually just bought a second one because I don't know yet if will hold up to the test of time, but I love it so much, I don't even care. It is lightweight and so easy to pull around. It coils up like a dream. The spray distance with nozzle lets me spray far up my backyard hill. It has never been hot to touch. Honestly, I will keep buying it if I have to just for how awesome it is. Now, I'm not saying it won't last for years as it still works great and looks brand new after a year, so I don't know yet. I brought it inside for the winter (fits in small bucket).
