The canopy's quality is good, and is likely to last. It works great as a patio umbrella in a traditional stand. It comes with a tripod stand and ground stakes to help make sure the wind does not blow it away, and you also have the option of sticking it in the sand without the tripod stand. The height adjustability is amazing and is the main reason I purchased it rather than a patio umbrella. The combination of height adjustment and tilt allow for good positioning, and thus good protection from the sun. My main disappointment is I have to open the umbrella in order to lower the umbrella to the desired height. I would prefer to be able to leave it in my patio stand adjusted to a low height, but I have to raise the height, in order to close the umbrella. This probably will not be an annoyance if you are using it solely in portable situations. This is definitely a premium quality umbrella. I use it at my granddaughters soccer games. The fabric seems thick and something that will last. The color was as expected and easy to set up and adjust. It came with 3 spikes to secure to the ground. The first time I put it up it was quite windy, it has excellent stability. I was quite surprised that it was so lightweight and easy to transport from car via the bag with shoulder strap to the field. My daughter loved it too and plans on getting one for the beach.
