TLDR: Generic metal hose, but overall decent quality, good flexibility. End connectors are brass but only have 1/4" hole, so overall flow is lower than standard hoses. They also smell bad, and make the water smell. Update - these hoses stink, literally. I mentioned the bad smell when I opened the package, after a month of use, the water has that same funk when you first turn on the water. I don't know what chemical is making this smell - it does not smell like rubber or PVC. It really just smells like farts, every time I turn on the water. Not recommend for drinking water... Longer - As a vine reviewer, Amazon has a list of products we can request to review. Recently, there have been a lot of these metal garden hoses listed, but only in shorter lengths, so I decided to order several to get the length I need. I ordered 5 hoses, lengths varied from 6' to 25', from 5 different "sellers" and 4 different brands. All 5 hoses seem to have come off the same factory line - there is no difference I can tell between them, other than the packaging and length. 4 came in just an unlabeled clear plastic bag, one (the 25') came in a box that looked like retail packaging, with the hose in a clear plastic bag inside the box. 4 of the 5 came with a small roll of white Teflon tape and a package of 3 replacement gaskets, one (the 6') had only the gaskets. All five had a very similar STRONG stink inside the package, so don't open these indoors, if you can help it. All of this leads me to believe they most likely came from the same factory. As for the hoses themselves, the quality seems good. They are more flexible than I expected and can be coiled with about a 3" diameter. When you pressure up the hose, it does "grow" a bit longer, but only by a few inches on a 15' hose- not like those "pocket hoses" the double or triple in length. I did a driveway / car test and ran over one of them with my Honda CRV. There was no noticeable damage, so I crossed the hose and ran over it again. This time, the hose did crush right where it was crossed, but I was able to round it out again with some plyers with only a small bit of effort. The hose does NOT leak after this, although the damaged area is no longer very flexible (about 1" of hose, so not an issue). The only negative I have with these hoses are end ferrules. They seem to be made from solid brass (good) but the hole drilled for the water passage is only about 1/4" diameter. If you have an application where high flow is needed (filling a pool? large yard sprinkler?) This will slow down the flow a lot. Overall, these seem to be good hoses, lower flow is the only negative I have so far, 4 stars. ... show more

I needed a short(ish) light duty hose for a small garden area, and this one does the job fine. It doesn't leak from either end, is quite light, as it really does seem to be kink free. I doubt this hose would hold up under serious abuse, but if that's what you are looking for, I doubt you'd be looking at this product. As a light duty hose, I have no complaints. ... show more

My goal for this hose is to run it semi-permanently to the back side of my house, so I don't have to unwind the hose all the way each time. I wanted a strong hose that I can partially bury and partially run along the edge of concrete. And this hose is perfect. The metal protection makes me comfortable it can handle the abuse of both being buried and exposed on the concrete. And I was pleasantly surprised to find that the diameter is smaller than I was expecting. The interior diameter is standard, but the exterior isn't as oversized as I'm used to. I guess metal is so much stronger that you only need a thinner layer of it to replace a thick layer of rubber hose. Connections were tight and leak-free. Everything just worked. I was concerned it would be super heavy because it is metal, but it's not! I appreciate that it can't kink. It is so flexible. I love how sturdy it is and easy to move. Everyone at the house can use it! I live somewhere hot, so when it gets really hot I'll update my review to record if the metal has had any issues. ... show more

    • So far i love it! Very light weight and easy to use
this hose is SO light and so easy to use, i wish i had gotten one like it sooner! I switched to this and a sprayer that you don't have to hold down the trigger for and between the two it is much less painful for me to water my garden now! The light weight of this hose has made a world of difference for me & even though it is smaller around than the rubber hose i had previously, it still puts out plenty of water pressure to be able to quickly and efficiently water my whole garden.     • Nice looking hose on a deck were the hose is visible
I got this hose to use on my upper deck; it is used to water the plants up there and is visible to everyone, so I wanted something that would go with he stainless railing. This fits right in and looks great, and it is very light and flexible so pulling it on the synthetic decking is effortless and leaves no rubber marks. I am hoping it is also durable, and will update this review if there are any issues. ... show more
