  • Excellent HDMI Switch - 1st I’ve Tried w/ No Problems
Very few TVs support 5.1 audio passthrough, and precisely zero TVs support LPCM/PCM passthrough, so I was stuck with stereo sound from my PS4 over ARC. Now, by wiring all my devices into this switch and the switch to the Soundbar, I get full 5.1 LPCM from all devices as well as Atmos from my Apple TV. It seems simple enough, but I tried 3 switches before this and every single one had a unique issue. This is the first switch I bought that has no issues at all and a great remote that doesn’t need to be precisely pointed like others I’ve tried. This switch is definitely worth the extra cash over the budget switches... ... show more

  • Gets the job done
This is supposed to be a simple piece of hardware that prevents plugging and unplugging different devices to the few HDMI ports available on TV's or receivers. My experience is that they usually work well for few months, then start to cause strange problems, which are hard to troubleshoot. So far, so good. No complaints. Good picture quality and my soundbar recognizes the audio signal as Dolby Atmos (from my Xbox One). Occasionally, you have to turn off the switch to allow it to lose the handshake from one device and acquire a new one from another, but this is true from all the switches that I have owned through the years. In all, the function of an HDMI switch is highly dependent on the connected devices, the receiver and the TV, so, your mileage may vary. One last thing; turning it off after done viewing your source, may extend the life of these switches. Highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Switch with a solid output, auto-switching works most of the time.
I am using this switch with an LG 4k oled, and an LG 4k bluray player, as well as game consoles and a PC. While the auto-switching works perfectly with my PS4, it does not seem to pick up the 4k player when it is turned on, however I am assuming it may be outputting a standby signal of some sort. However, other than this what I would consider minute problem, it is all positive! I obtained this device because my previous switch from Best Buy, the RocketFish 4K HDMI Switch, had minor background noise as well as an issue where it would occasionally stop outputting signal from the 4K player when it was outputting standard HDR10, but for some reason not Dolby Vision. Another issue I had with my previous device was getting black and white static when switching to my PS4 frequently since switching to my PS4 Pro. This switch has not had any video or audio hiccups or stuttering, and has picked up my PS4 the first time every time since setting up the device. I would recommend this switch to anyone looking for a low cost, yet adequate, HDMI switcher that does not want to use an external control system. ... show more

  • A Great Device for the Price
It arrived on time, well packaged and does a great job. Just a couple of comments, not complaints. 1. Wished they told you up front that for many switching applications your HDMI cables needed to be rated as 18Gbps. Mine weren't so sensing when the remote turned one input off and another on didn't work reliability. When you switched from the front of the switcher, the video and audio worked fine. Now with the new cables so does the remote switching. 2. I've always had great success we my Harmony One remote. When adding this switcher to the remote, you got to make sure you have the correct one chosen on the website and then figure on having to play with the programming several time before you get it right but once done, it all works great together. ... show more

  • An Excellent Solution to a common modern problem
(Disclaimer: I'd ordered a Prosumer 3-Port HDMI switch previously, so I was identified to try out this unit.) This unit helped me create an ideal media setup and solve a problem I didn't even know I had. I work from home and use my TV as a monitor, and I have for years. I'm also an avid gamer. I like to listen to media (regardless of source) through my surround sound system, or through high quality headphones when I feel like it. I'd been using my speaker system as a receiver, switching inputs from Xbox, to PC, etc. Here's my setup: TV Satellite Receiver Surround system PC - Windows PC - Ubuntu Xbox Turtle Beach wireless headset (runs off optical, mic is connected to Xbox at all times) My ideal setup means that all my devices can be run through my Xbox, primarily so I can get great wireless sound through my headphones. Since the Xbox only has one HDMI in (whatever is being sent there is shown in the OneGuide app) and a single HDMI out, I was able to run all my other HDMI devices into the HDMI switch, and then run one HDMI cable from the switch to my Xbox. The Xbox then feeds into my surround system and outputs optical audio to my headphones. My surround system then outputs to TV. I know that's a lot, and I literally had to draw a little flowchart to work out how I wanted everything connected, but the result is I am typing this on a PC that is running through the OneGuide app on my Xbox (so if I get Xbox notifications, they overlay on my screen), and at any point I can mute my surround system and get PC audio through my headphones. I can do all that with single, small HDMI switch added to my setup. TL;DR - If you have multiple HDMI sources and want them all to run through your Xbox, this unit makes it easy. ... show more

  • Works well.
Works well. Kinda of embarrassed I actually need to switch HDMI between 5 different PCs but that is the requirement and I do that many times a day. The remote is a nice touch.

  • Bought to replace old one.
Bought one locally and it was cheap light and all plastic. This is heavier, solid and well made. Not to mention works great. Never had any issues with the quality of the signal passing through it. All video and audio are passed through perfect.

  • Ok, but has a few quirks
*UPDATE* - We bought a couple of UHD movies this week and I'm happy to say the Atmos did work. This product works, but it has some odd quirks that I'm still figuring out. I got this in order to be able to input my Samsung Bluray, Nintendo Switch and Fios cable box directly into my Vizio soundbar that has 1 HDMI IN connection and 1 HDMI ARC connection. I was having some Dolby Digital audio delay issues when the devices were inputted into the back of the Samsung TV and outputted using HDMI ARC to the soundbar and was hoping this would fix the problem. The good new is that by inputting all of the devices into the switch and having it directly connected to the soundbar, the delay is gone and it sounds great. I can't notice any difference in quality of the picture. There is a small delay when switching between inputs but nothing I found bothersome. I even get surround out of the Nintendo which can be finicky if not connected right. I received the product very quickly and in good shape so no issue with the seller either. Some things to keep in mind though: 1. I got this to work with my Logitech Harmony remote. This switch looks like it is sold by many different brands, but its all the same model. Logitech has the model, but not all of the different brands. Because the model is the same, you can use any of the brands. Just find one. 2. I was having a similar problem as someone else here in that when turning on the cable tv, the bluray would also turn on for some reason. The switch would automatically go to the bluray input. I got this to stop by turning off the Anynet+ (CEC) on the samsung bluray settings. 3. For some reason, occasionally the Dolby Digital or DTS signal doesn't get to the soundbar. It doesn't happen all of the time. My soundbar has a light, white if DD and amber if DTS, and it doesn't always turn on using this switch. I'm hoping this doesn't continue. If I turn everything off and start over, I'll get the signal and everything sounds and looks like it should and my soundbar will confirm the signal with the lights. 4. It is advertised as being compatible with Dolby Atmos. I could not find in the manual that came with the product anything that mentions this. I have a dolby atmos compatible sound bar, but no content that can test it. ... show more
