  • Works - Its and HDD and lets you store data
Color: Silver
Okay, I love solid state drives and their boot time. But as you slowly build up years of data/kid pics/past jobs smaller SSDs don't cut it anymore. I started out with a 10GB HDD and thought it was the best. Total writable storage on this device is about 14.5 TB versus the marking but that's pretty standard. On Windows 10 if you install with the standard SATA cable you will have to initialize the device. So if it doesn't show up on startup after install you will need to go to the device manager (as I did) and actually initialize the drive. Look it up on your search engine of choice and should pop up. Not the fault of the device but overly complicated operating systems that seem to be the rage these days. So far moved about 4TB onto the drive to keep family movies and photos safe. No issues other than the OS compatibility as mentioned. 14.5TB - For me that's just crazy at the price even though it dates me a bit. ... show more

  • I’ve bought 9! Very happy.
Color: Silver
Title says it all. I’ve bought a bunch of these. Put them through smart testing and I ran unraid pre clear to read/write the whole drive. All of the WD passed the tests and have been fine in operation since. If it’s your first enterprise drive purchase, they are louder than most expect, but not bad. Smart data is reset in my experience during recert for WD and Seagate (but not Toshiba), so don’t think you got lucky with a new drive! Also, as a tip, enterprise drives, on the whole, should remain powered - unlike consumer drives which are more suited for power cycling regularly. Doesn’t mean you can’t, but generally you should focus on "sleep" and "spin down" instead of a full power cycle multiple times a day. Company wise, on other products I’ve had to make a warranty claim on one of their recert drives and it was super easy, they paid shipping, and I had my replacement -which passed testing- in less than 2 weeks. ... show more

  • Just perfect for my needs...
Color: Silver
I bought these drives used to install in my Ubiquiti NAS storage system and they are working just fine. I saved at least $300 bucks with this decision.

  • still waitting for disk sector detection result
Color: Silver
I received these two hard drives yesterday. The hard drivers are air-buffered and wrapped in anti-static bags. After the power is connected, everything is normal. Check the SMART table of the hard drive. Both hard drivers show that the power-on time is 0, but shows have been reset. It is estimated that the refurbished hard disk has reset the SMART table information, and it is no way to know any information before refurbishing. At present, VICTORIA is being used for comprehensive sector scan and detection. If everything is normal, I will update the review, but if I find that the sector reading speed is more than 1 second, I will apply for a return. ... show more

  • So far, so good!
Color: Silver
SMART status looks good, and it’s passed my series of burn-in tests. Been working well in a raid array for the last week

  • Legit
Color: Silver
First thing I did was run a full format. No errors or blocks missing. I personally use this to store games and downloads mostly. Honestly It works great and even loading times in games I can't really notice a difference to my Gen4 nvme. My hardware is probably too high end for the drives to be a bottleneck. You can however, notice it's there. It's not the quietest thing in the world. But I actually found the sound kinda soothing. It only makes that sound when the drive is being written on at least for me. But I'm very satisfied with the product its the same as if I would have bought one new. It's so nice not caring about space and it's just one drive. For less than a 1tb Gen4 ssd. ... show more

  • Shipping nightmare and very loud
Color: Silver
Drives work okay, as described. very loud and puts out a high pitch dog whistle sound. Beware about the shipping, dont expect to get them when described. Amazon still has no idea where they are, they think UPS has it, but no tracking updates on either side. Spent hours figuring out where my package was with no help from amazon and UPS clueless. Finally several days after the package should have arrived the seller replies to let me know it was with Fedex and that they were failing to deliver (at 10am on a weekday) because he required them to have a signature ??? for delivery. I never would have ordered if that was listed in the shipping info, which it was not. Such a hassle and waste of time. I ended up having to drive 2 hours round trip after work to the fedex distribution center to rescue my order now 3 days late. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE ... show more
