So as next generation games get bigger and bigger on size its best to have external or internal drives. Unfortunately the external only supports ps4 games that can be played from it. But... Bought the WD Black 4tb as an upgrade from my Samsung S990 2tb I was using. I simply wanted more space to future proof my system. Install was super easy however the Samsung seemed to fit a little bit better but that may just be because of the design. Either way it only took minutes to remove the old and install the 4tb. Turned my PS5 back on and the new SSD was instantly recognized and needed formatting. Shows as 4.01tb available. I installed 3 games and still sitting on 3.79tb remaining storage so I'm set for quite some time. ... show more

    • Arrived perfect, unable to install right away due to PS5 flaw

So I got the SSD in perfect condition and reasonable time. The day I received it I went ahead and grabbed the PS5 to install. The first obstacle was with removing the panel. You do have to apply a lot of force, and I would recommend watching YouTube videos that can provide more information on where to push and where to support it. I had similar problems getting it back on and again had to watch more detailed YouTube videos. The second obstacle is my major problem. After removing the first screw and the cover, I am unable to remove the second screw. It is extremely tiny and frail. I pretty much stripped it in my first try to unscrew it because it warps and bends so easily. I got more tools out and also tried using needle nose pliers to manually unscrew it but I've had no luck so far. It feels like it was screwed in way too tightly. I'm hoping to borrow a specialized repair kit from a friend this weekend with magnetic screw drivers to try again. But I'm pretty disappointed and frustrated that this was not emphasized as a common problem in the above installation video. If you accidentally strip it like I did you're going to have more problems. (It is definitely a pretty common problem with the PS5 that I was previously unaware of) If you're buying this product and have the money, you might consider buying specialized computer repair tools or getting it professionally installed to avoid damaging the PS5. ... show more
