  • Fast and Great SSD
Style: 990 PRO w/ Heatsink Capacity: 2TB
Samsung for the win! A great SSD that's fast, performs awesome and plenty of storage. Got this for my PC and it was easy to physically install and pretty simple to set it up with disk management. Everything flies with this: games, file transfers, videos, programs, etc. The specs look great and the heatsink does a good job keeping it cool. This is my second Samsung as they do not disappoint with performance. Great value! Just check to make sure your motherboard can use it and if so, you won't be disappointed! ... show more

  • Very fast high capacity SSD
Style: 990 PRO Capacity: 4TB
Very fast SSD. Not cheap, but not totally unreasonable price. I used in adapter to USB C access. About as fast as possible with USB C. High performance. Standard SSD size. 4 TB is great for the SSD. No hiccups. Easily installed in USB C adapter box. Slows somewhat and gets very hot when transferring large files. I transferred ~850 GB file. After a few minutes it slowed down somewhat and got very hot to touch. Could not keep finger on the adapter box. About same as other SSDs when transferring large files. I formatted ExFAT. Worked fine. Recommended. No significant temperature rise with files under 100 GB. ... show more

  • Blazing Fast and Easy to Install
Style: 990 PRO Capacity: 2TB
This Samsung 990 Pro is a beast — lightning-fast boot times, instant file transfers, and smooth performance across the board. Installation was quick and simple, no hiccups at all. The 2TB capacity gives plenty of room for games and creative work without slowing down. It runs cool, feels solidly built, and the overall design is sleek and compact. Definitely one of the best-performing drives for its price. ... show more

  • Great for my Proxmox Server
Style: 990 PRO Capacity: 2TB
Great NVME SSD, I am using it as the primary HDD on my Proxmox server, and it has excellent performance. Samsung has fast, high-quality products. If price is no object and you're looking for the ultimate speed, durability, and responsiveness that PCIe 4.0 can offer, the 2TB 990 PRO is the best storage investment you can make today. ... show more

  • A great hard working drive for the gaming PC
Style: 990 PRO Capacity: 4TB
This drive houses our Steam and other games and gets a workout each evening. It performs super fast and installation was a breeze. I do recommend getting a heat sink as it seems to perform better with one installed. 4TB for this price on a Samsung SSD, is a good solid deal and upgrading from a 1TB drive, I am sure that this will be around for a while. ... show more

  • Samsung <3
Style: 990 PRO Capacity: 4TB
I'm no fanboy but when it comes to storage, I love Samsung. It used to be Western Digital when I was young but something has happened to them over the years. This is one of their better drives. They do have newer ones targeting AI but unless you're decking out your machine for LLM and have hundreds of gigs of RAM to support it, this will suffice for basically everything except maybe the actual amount of space. So, buy a couple or look for an 8TB. These drives work well. I have a lower model in my desktop by mistake. Honestly though it's so fast compared to "faster" models from other brands, I can't tell I bought the wrong one. This one is in one of my laptops. The laptop mount wasn't correct so I had to make a rubber washer for UNDER the SSD which is unusual. Otherwise it mounted fine. Not the drive's fault but the computer. It was recognized perfectly but one note: If your computer has Intel RST/VMD and you intend to use linux, you may need to disable it. This may prevent Windows from booting until re-enabled. Luckily for me, I just deleted Windows. Problem solved. This is a side-note for those of you purchasing these for dual-boot to hopefully save you some headache. Anyway ... 4tb ... super fast .. I have it luks encrypted, full-bore. You simply cannot tell. That's why I love these drives. I work on sensitive projects. Some legal. Some health. Some security. Etc. I run full disk encryption on my project storage and active machines with different keys each obviously and other security measures we won't get into but with this sort of NVME the performance loss is absolutely negligible. For example the "AI" nvme is absolutely not needed in my case. I actually do a lot of AI code. Financial predictions to massive patterns that I can't explain here without breaching contract but the point is, the drives are never maxed out even while fully encrypted. My GPU, NPU or CPU always bottlenecks first. The same with Video Games. Even VR games. Basically, there are few cases where this drive will not suffice. You'll know if you truly need better. If you aren't sure then, this drive will probably be perfect but it doesn't hurt to double-check. ... show more

  • Excellent SSD for gaming!!!!
Style: 990 PRO w/ Heatsink Capacity: 2TB
My son plays a lot on his PlayStation Pro 5 He downloads a lot of games, and he's looking for better speed and storage performance I can tell you with all my heart that since I bought the Samsung SSD 990 PRO Everything flies faster at a really high speed, waiting times have decreased significantly And of course the big advantage is that there is an extra 2 TB of space for many more games!! It's very worth the money in my opinion for those who often play a lot Super easy installation You take off the Sony cover and insert the memory into its designated area and secure it with a screw that's already inside the device, after that you turn on the PlayStation and format the SSD and that's it! Very simple and very successful! Enjoy! ... show more

  • Great SSD
Style: 990 PRO Capacity: 4TB
I bought a few of these 1.5 years ago, and I decided to finally post a review. This is a great SSD in many ways: 1) Very fast, if you have a PCIe 4 m.2 NVMe slot. Still pretty fast, even if you don't. 2) Very power efficient. Consumes less power (and generates less heat) than many similar drives. 3) Consistently reliable, even when operating at high temperatures. I had one of these in my primary laptop (ThinkPad p14s Gen4 AMD) for about a year, and it did a great job. A few months back, I replaced it with a bigger drive (WD Black 850 8TB), so I moved this into a fanless embedded server (which unfortunately, only has a PCIe 3.0 bus). I've posted a benchmark I ran this morning using JDiskMark 0.6.0, a platform independent (Java) disk benchmarking tool. The drive does quite well, even with the slower PCIe 3.0 bus. ... show more
