This product took a little more effort than the instructions would lead you to believe. I like it and it will satisfy our need for a side door rain and sun cover, but there’s definitely a learning curve to proper installation. The small set screws provided aren’t adequate. In order to make mine more stable and more of a one piece unit you can pick up from the floor, I added metal screws to every location that the arms intersect an aluminum cross member.

We got this to replace an older aluminum awning. We ordered four sections. I saw in the reviews that it needs a few extra screws in places for support. We did that. We also left the protective coating on for more shade. It's held up well to a few summer storms so far.

It seems sturdy and will help keep the sun out of our bedroom window. The old fashion awning with vanes seems outdated. this contemporary design is really cool looking. If you get the 40x80 it is a 2 person install.

This article is made of cheap plastic; easily cracks. It should have never be intended for outdoors due to its fragile construction. As soon as I received it, I noticed the extremely light weight which told me the flimsy/toy like of the material it’s been made of. The description of the article is misleading and so is the makers.
