I chose this charger for its adjustable charge rate and information screen that tells me how much energy has passed through the charger. It also has a temperature gauge, but I have never determined if that is the temperature reading from the car, or the internal temperature of the charger itself. We can charge our new Chevy Bolt from under 20% to completely charged 100% overnight with this charger, so I saw no point in installed a 40-50 amp line for a heavier and more expensive charging system. This charger gives me a choice of 10, 16, 20, or 24 amp rates. I have only twice had to charge at the 24 amp rate, and that is only because I believe in charging it all the way and that was after trips of 240-270 miles since last charge. Then we are good for another 330-400 miles total range in mixed driving around town, or at least 280-300 miles in total range on the interstate. So we typically charge at around 30-35% and 230-260 miles on battery, and at 16 amps. 20 amps if we are late and using the car early. I like this charger better than the dual voltage charger that came with the car. I don't see a real point in charging at 11.5 kwh on Level 2 as an overnight charge on a 66 kwh battery. This charger and the supporting wiring in your home should be enough to fully charge many personal EVs available today, outside of a Hummer. This also allows you to charge at slower rates, which are easier on ANY battery pack.

I bought this inexpensive device so I could use my 30 AMP dryer outlet to charge my VW ID.4. To install a dedicated 50 AMP circuit in my garage would have cost close to $2,000 (including the charging device). Ouch. Even with the tax credit, kind of pricey. I realize that a charger drawing 40 AMPs is going to charge faster than one drawing 24 AMPs, but I thought this would do the job. In fact, it exceeded my expectations. It was plug and play. In my first charging session I was adding 20 miles per hour, which is more than enough for my needs. What I wasn't expecting is that the display on the device shows charging session information. No fancy app or anything, but it tells you length of session and KWH consumption. In this case, 48 KWH and eight hours. It shut off, as it should, when it reached 90 percent. The car added an indicated 160 miles of range in that time. This is a simple, but effective device, and, obviously, inexpensive compared to what else is out there. After this successful test, I bought a 10-30 splitter so we don't have to unplug the dryer.

I bought this for my 22 Mustang Mach E. So far it's been great! Like the other reviews that say don't let the red light fool you, they're right. Mine does it every now and then but always charges! I like the length of the cord, makes this product very usable! Not too many options to run off a Nema 10-30 outlet so this is great!

I needed a Level 2 charger that could plug into my girlfriend's dryer outlet, because upgrading her system for a 40-amp outlet that would work with my Bolt EUV's original charger would have cost a fortune. I shopped around quite a bit, and this charger stood out because, at 24 Amp output, it could fully utilize her 30 Amp circuit. I was concerned about the low cost. Could a safe, quality product really cost this little? But the reviews were very good, so I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did. This charger is compact, light and easy to use. It has a helpful display that shows you all the info an EV nerd could want, and it has a simple one-button control to choose output power current from 10 amps to 24. It has a nice long cable. It works silently and flawlessly. Last night, for the first time, I used it to charge outdoors in the rain. It worked perfectly. I couldn't be happier.

It's good if your vehicle doesn't come with a charger/travel charger. Same speed as my Tesla Gen 1 Travel Charger on a 10-30 plug. No speed difference but cheaper then the OEM if you need one.

Edit: I moved to another brand (splitvolt) and the error message gone. I’m still experimenting it with my Ford MME (Mustang Mach-e). It works only half of the time. When it does not work the car gives this error: **Electrical system drain service required.** There is an electrical drain in your car, possibly caused by after-market device(s). If that’s not the case, please schedule service soon. It has been less than a month since I purchased it but I cannot find the return option in the order details page.

I bought this so I have an alternative for my slow charger at home. It plugs in on a 220 dryer outlet at home. With this, from a 24 hr slow charging, it brings it down to 6-8 hours for a full charge (about 20% charge left before charging). It's not that fast, but at least you don't have to struggle with waiting for a full charge for a day, just to use the car. So would definitely recommend it!

I use it daily on may 2023 Mach-E. The cord and connector feel very well made. I can't use the original charge unit that comes with the Mach-e as it pulls up to 32 amps and trips my circuit breaker on my automatic power switch unit. This 24 amp version works perfectly. I live in Phoenix, AZ and the garage can get 130 degrees. It works perfectly and I've had no problems with it.
