  • Cheapest you can get! For broke or poor
Listen for coal, get the us stove draft control at lowes its cheapest there. Factory pure dot com has this and the pot belly and the electric circulator for over $2k now. It only takes 3 pieces of paper and 6 small pieces of hard wood bark to get up to 350 (18 inches above pipe damper at stoves throat) add coal shut damper half of 45. Do not walk away until you learn your burn all chimneys are different that's what it means in manual, the draft control is for your 6 inch black pipe going into a bigger water column aka bigger than 8 inch square diameter, it sucks and back burps with wind!! The draft control prevents back draft cracking the pot. The 57e has 2 dampers and the pot belly has 3. It can get to 500 in less than 15 minutes! WOOD burns Fast and hot in these. Mine stays around 350 with the pipe dampner shut burning COAL ONLY I put nuts on the pipe dampner so when you look thru it theres a circle of light and it can move completely round and round not sticking aka stuck, and the spinner is open and the slide is half open, the draft sucks air from cellar feeds coals burns out chimney. Embers get sucked into chimney, while starting and burning wood constantly, coal cleans while wood creosotes. Use soot and creosote remover weekly. The chimney is a good 100 years old! Patch red brick and mortar joints with hydraulic cement. This manual recommends skim/feather coating mortaring the heat chamber of the 57e with 211 mortar to prevent cracking. If you dont outside burn the cheap paint off, and pipe your pitch in to the unit, 18'' above throat, 90 elbow into the draft protection, then 3 2' sections into the chimney, put and exhaust fan in hopper open cellar, burn it up to 450 to 500 on pipe gauge 18 from throat. Use lemon ammonia and sponge the feed and heat chambers out side and it will cure white, you can paint it with rustoleum or more expensive high heat stove paint later. If you have a fire chief, shelter, or us coal coal blower unit for $2 k, burning this in one chimney will help circulate heat without using wood at same time if you have 2 chimneys. Get the insulated stainless chimney for the wood furnace at lowes if you built the block chimney wrong, wood fire burns up to 490 and the draft motor shuts off the baffle fan to reduce its temp down, cracking blocks. Replace it by running stainless in new block casing, making 4 chimneys. At least you'll have 4 options to burn for heat. Use klarna buy sections at a time. Remember theres 2" of clearance for selik lowes insulated chimney which doesn't need a chase and can be installed with pull up bar brackets on bottom outside the house thru a hopper window and bricked shut with clean out t, the wooden or cement block chase/case is optional in usa locations ask a chimney sweep FIRST. Read manual if overriding shut pipe dampner, spinner, and slide. DO NOT put mortar in between the clay flue and cement block due to thermal expansion, metal liners MAY NOT FIT THRU replace it with insulated stainless chimney. ... show more

This stove is awesome! Came well packaged and all the parts and pieces were with it. The freight company, NDS was great and delivery men were very personable and helpful. • Learning Curve
First, the delivery was fine. The delivery company communicated with me clearly and all was well. Second, this stove does not take an oval connection- so that was a bit of a bummer because I ordered one. Second, buy a draft regulator. I had no idea I needed one and if you are new to coal like me- anthracite is a little tricky to learn- the draft from my chimney caused the stove to over fire- not a problem with the stove per se - user error. Third, the stove is bigger than I thought- I measured everything out based on the dimensions, but visually bigger than I had pictured in my head. I need to get the draft regulator and refine my skill lighting an anthracite fire, but once all that is done I think this stove will work just fine. I have a big old Victorian house built in 1915 and live in Arkansas. While I don’t have Northern kind of winters, it does get cold and this house is big, drafty, and costly to heat. I’ve shut off a good portion of the house and this little stove will hopefully be my best friend during cold snaps. ... show more

  • Just received stove
We were excited to receive the shipment of our stove. Amazon delivery was perfect. Delivery people were helpful and courteous. The stove was packed well. However, as we were checking the parts on the stove, we discovered that the ash door does not fit properly on the stove. The defect will make the stove useless. We have contacted the stove company to resolve this problem. ... show more

  • Love it
We couldn't be happier with this stove. It came well packaged, nothing missing or broken. It doesn't hurt that it's as cute as can be. This will be out primary heat spree this winter and we're looking forward to coming on it too.

  • This could come in handy
We bought this to add to our prepping. Hard to find in Florida but if a hurricane comes through you could still use one for cooking if electric is out for days. I was looking for an old one with the oven but am glad I have this for now. Bought the coleman camp oven to set on top of it for baking but havent tried it yet so not sure how it will work out. I do know it is getting a little rust on it even though it is under shelter and has not been used yet so will have to get the black paint for hot cookers and spray it down. We want to be able to take care of ourself if things go south and not count on anyone else. Still have a long way to go but every step is one step closer. We bought this on amazon and did not have any problems.. ... show more

The quality of the stove is lacking and the manufacturer has very poor service. The stove came packed in a very insecure crate. In fact the crate could be pulled apart easily with only your hands. About 1/3 of the crate was already torn apart when it was delivered. The unit that was shipped to me was missing parts and poorly manufactured. The base where 4 legs are to be bolted on was missing two holes (failed to drill out from factory) and the fit of the legs on the bottom required about one hour with a file to make them fit properly. After contacting the manufacturer about the base not having holes to mount the legs they assured me that they would ship another base; they did. However to install the base required installing high temperature furnace cement between the base and the part above it. They assured me that they would send furnace cement with the base; did not happen and when questioned about their promise to send the cement, I was told that a supervisor canceled the cement being sent to me. A critical bolt was missing holding the center round section to the top. Also promised to send me the missing bolt; did not happen. I am very disappointed with the quality of the stove and even more disappointed with the response of the manufacturer. Would I purchase again from this company? Absolutely not! ... show more
