  • Good stove, terrible manual, good tech support
Stove feedback 4 stars Title: Good stove, terrible manual, good tech support. The stove works, but not like the manual says. I don’t believe the manufacturer gave serious effort in writing the manual. There isn’t a step by step process described in the installation setup of control panel. When powered on the screen displays Day, Time, P1 (power/rate setting) and a ridiculous temperature setting. Mine said 120 F. Right away I Intuited that I ought to lower the 120 F to something for humans? I used the down arrow to drop it to 70 F. The stove fired up and worked for several hours. My 400 sq ft shop got over 80 degrees. Somewhere during this time EC02 displayed on the screen. I powered the stove off. EC02 is a mode of operation. In my small space EC02 is not a good choice. The manual says you can use EC01, EC02 or opt to not use it. EC01 fires the stove until the temp is reached, then it stops heating and cycles off. EC02 mode lowers the pellet feed rate and the blower speed when the temp is reached. But, it doesn’t stop. Not a good idea for me. The choice is EC01 or EC02, no way to opt out. The manual refers to MANUAL/ AUTOMATIC operation and being able to toggle between them and an indicator light. No, that doesn’t apply. You can press the clock button all you want, the light doesn’t come on. The P1 rate setting burns a lot of pellets and runs the blower harder. I chose to run in P3 (medium) rate. I was puzzled by the stove not relighting after reaching the desired temp. The sensor diode is coiled up and tied with a cable tie to the back of the stove. This cable tie needs to be discarded and the sensor cable stretched out away from the stove. The stove does relight when the sensor indicates the room has dropped 5 degrees below the desired temp. To display what the stove thinks the room temp is you can press the Thumbs Up button, the temp will display on the temp area as ## (R). This is all that comes to mind, I hope it helps. It is a good stove, just poorly documented. I found the folks at the tech support desk very helpful. ... show more

  • Don't buy unless you really enjoy cleaning pellet stoves!
I bought one of these on January 17, 2023 and installed in my sun room. It has worked flawlessly since then. About a year later I bought another for use in a converted garage. It has had issues since I installed it; it will randomly start beeping with an error code of E42, which is a vacuum error. I clean each of them thoroughly once a week. When I called for support, their first response was "well, you're supposed to clean it every day." If I had known that I would not have bought even one of them, let alone two. Who would buy a pellet stove that required cleaning every day? Not me, that's for sure! Anyway, I have found that if I power-cycle the stove, the error message goes away for some period of time, sometimes a week or more, then starts beeping again. Power-cycle it, error goes away, works fine for a while, repeat. I am hoping to limp through this winter and get it looked at by a professional when the weather warms. This same stove is sold under a different brand name by the same parent company. If you ask Rufus "how often do I need to clean it?", the answer is "Under normal usage, cleaning once per week is usually sufficient." That seems reasonable to me, I wish the parent company (Mr. Heater i think) would get their act together! ... show more

  • Great little heater, added a larger hopper
Great little heater well made. I’m used to having much bigger pellet stoves but this one puts out a good bit of heat. The app works great is the remote. The only negative would be the small hopper. At a great value for the money. I did put taller legs on it which easily unscrew. Add a larger hopper so we can accommodate a 40 pound bag and run all night. See pictures easily made from ductwork painted black. Overall, a great heater, well made . The reviews that are bad are probably people who haven’t kept up on the maintenance or cleaning. ... show more

  • Danger
The media could not be loaded. Had it for 2 years. Cleaned at least once a week. Burst into flames right into the pallet hopper. Please be careful if you purchase the stove do not use it when you’re not home I am reaching out to the company now to report the incident. 1/24/24 Update: almost 2 weeks later finally heard back from company after leaving multiple messages and emails requested pictures of damage to stove. Haven’t heard anything back from them. Pam from the stove company called me back today and informed me that they will not be offering me any assistance with this problem and that all damage was caused by this stove only getting cleaned once a day. She informed me that it is common for this brand and type of stove to catch fire if not cleaned daily. From her mouth to your ears. Not safe and will catch on fire if you miss 1 day of cleaning. ... show more

  • Works great!

  • It works
Arrived pretty beat up - had to fix a couple of dents on the side and front panels, and also had to replace a couple of rivets inside the stove. Louder than I expected, but it heats pretty well. The thermostat could be better and seems to be 4 to 6 degrees off - with the thermostat set to 65 degrees, it keeps the room at 70. Mostly run it in P3 - next to the lowest setting. In the highest setting (P1) the amount of heat it generates is a bit scary and includes a burning paint smell (assume that will burn off eventually). All in all good for the price. ... show more
