For a budget priced charger, this thing is awesome! We'll see if it lasts, but it feels like a top notch charger. The screen is small, but...it has a screen! The adjustable amperage is nice (just don't forget to put it back to normal if you switch it to a lower charging rate). It maxes out at about 3.7kwh, so easily twice as fast as on a 110v outlet, but its no supercharger. Speaking of which, being able to charge on both 110 and 220v is really nice, and the adjustable charging rate is really important if you find yourself needing to charge on a 15amp 110v outlet. And that it came with the adapter to go from the 6-20 plug to the standard 5-15 is great.

This is a Level 1 car charger that operates on standard 115v AC. It is the slowest charging method available. We have a plug-in hybrid. Our Level 2 charger will charge at 32 amps 240V. That takes just under 2 hours to fully charge for 30 miles of driving. This charger will take between 8 and 25 hours to do the same. How long depends on available current. At the lowest (6 amp) setting, it will take 25 hours. At the highest (16 amp) setting, about 8. Don't get me wrong, this is a perfectly good Level 1 charger. We carry it in the car for use when staying overnight at a motel. If you have an electric car, this charger isn't going to get you going very fast. It's not the fault of the unit. Level1 charging depends on normal household current and it is limited by that. This charger is exactly the same kind that came with our car.

Ordered the 16a version of this charger for my Nissan Leaf EV. We've been using the original Level 1 charger at home, which is find for us most of the time. Ordered this one for two reasons. First, I wanted to be able to leave a charger in the trunk, for situations where there's an opportunity to top off (i.e. when at work, sometimes I want to get some charge during the day in case I'm going to be running errands after work), without having to plan ahead of time and take my garage one. Second, I wanted to be able do Level 2 charging in situations where I have access to 240v. Haven't gotten that installed yet in my garage, but am planning to soon. The Level 1 charging works great. I like that the cable is a little longer than the other one we have. That has come in handy a few times when we accidentally park the car a little further away from the garage door. Works well, good price!

I tried two of these, but unfortunately I wasn't able to get this charger to work with my 2019 Subaru Crosstrek. Unfortunately it displays the check cable message. I have since used other chargers on the same receptible without issues.

I ordered this for our Prius to use as when we are traveling so we don't have to unwind our mounted one that came with the car. They include an adapter so that you can use this with any standard 110 outlet which is a mice addition, we got one a while ago and it didn't come with an adapter which made it basically worthless. The cord seems to be about the same gauge as the original and as you can see from the last photo, the end looks pretty much identical to the one that came with the car. When you plug it in there is a small screen that shows you basic information and when you hit the power button the information includes charging rates and time among other things. When not in use they have a convenient bag with a zipper to stow the entire charging system, so you don't have cords laying around in the back and getting in the way. Overall, I am so far very pleased with this charging system, and I feel confident in recommending it to anyone who needs a secondary or replacement charger.

I have a Tesla Model X and a Nissan Leaf. So I used to use Tesla mobile connector with a J1772 adapter to charge my Nissan Leaf. My garage does not have a NEMA14-50, so I have been using the NEMA 5-15 which is quite slow. And now I'm able to use this charging cable with my only NEMA 6-20 outlet and achieve much faster charing speed - 3.8KW @ 240V and 16A, what's more, no more J1772 adapter is needed to charge my Nissan. Simply plug and play. In addition, with a J1772 to Tesla adapter, I could charge my Model X with this charging cable at 3.8KW speed as well (@16A), no need to do any modification to my house's electricity. Win-win. So I really like this charging cable. At $128 bucks when I picked it up, I'll give it a 5 stars.

It's nice that this charges can be used as a portable charger also which adds a lot of value. It works nicely and does the job it's supposed to do. No probs. :) Simple and good.
