    • Very useful and reliable
Capacity: 500GB
I looked for external hard drives for additional storage since I was running out of space on my iMac desktop, Most of the files that would be stored on the hard drive are photos and videos of my family so it is important for me to have reliable storage. I had never used an SSD before, but I heard they were much faster than HDDs so I decided to try this one out based on the video review I saw on Youtube. It came with a nice little pouch to safely store the unit and USB-A adapter. I really liked how compact the unit is as my previous external hard drive (Seagate HDD) is much bigger. This makes it a lot more portable and easier to take with you on the go. It is less than a 1/2 of the size of my iPhone 11! While looks/aesthetics did not factor into my decision on which device to purchase, this SSD looks very tough, which is an added bonus! . I did not perform any specific speed tests, but this external ssd is extremely fast. I was able to load ~20 GB of pictures onto the SSD in around 10 seconds. While this is not a fair comparison, this device is much faster than my Seagate HDD. Using the device was also very easy. All I did to use the device for the first time was to plug it in, open it up from the D: drive, and start copying files over. I also liked that it worked seamlessly with a Mac as well as with an Asus laptop with no required configuration changes. For someone who is not extremely technically savvy, it was great to not have to do anything really to set up the device. ... show more

    • Small but powerful

I needed a compact portable drive that is rugged. I’ve never owned a solid state drive so I decided to give this one a try. The drive comes with a small pouch and a USB adapter. Speed: I was wondering if Merucy portable SSD was living up to their promise of Read Speeds of up to 1000MB/s. So I attached it to my Macbook Pro. I used BlackMagicDesign's Disk Speed Test. The test result is (as in picture) Write speed was about 930MB/s and Read speeds around 944MB/s. That is above 90% of advertised as fast as expected for both read and write speeds. Size and Portability: It’s very small in size, lightweight and fit easily in you hand as you can see by my picture2 compare to my Iphone X. Interface: USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 or you can call it as USB 3.2 Gen 2 now, plus it comes with a USB-C to USB-A adapter which is pretty useful. Compatibility: This is very easy to use. It’s ready to go right out of the box and requires no software installation. It works with my Macbook, Iphone (extra adapter needed), and Xbox. The indicator led is tiny and dim. This is great if you ever use the drive attached to a large display with room lighting off. The drive light will not be a distraction at all as many drives have bright drive indicator lights. Overall, Because of - 1. Fast speed 2. Build quality - dropproof, water and dust resistant 3. Compatibility and gaming performance 4. Portability I would highly recommend this product. ... show more

    • Super fast external Drive!!
Review Image by App Nimbute
I have used this external ssd for work. I do a lot of work with graphic design software, mostly Adobe Creative Suite, which requires a certain level of computing capability on the drive. With this portable ssd, I can get a much shorter time of opening, processing, and saving large files. It meets my expectation. A very good upgrade from a hard drive. PLUS, it is light, so it doesn't add much weight to my bag, it is very important when I have to carry multiple portable drives with me for work. If you want a high quality drive to back up to once and then retrieve quickly later with good life expectancy, this is a great fit. It is, however, pretty impressive with the price. That said, it's fairly comparable to similar drives and is of good quality." ... show more

    • Less than 6 months and died.
Capacity: 2TB
This worked great as an external hard drive for the XBoX until today. Completely flatlined when trying to use it. No excessive use or heat. I expected a lot more for a SSD that was $370. My recommendation is: Do Not buy this drive.

    • Nice design, decent transfer speed but wish the adapter was somehow connected
Capacity: 500GB
This M2 solid state drive is great for a small back up drive. If you are planning to take picture and videos on the go this works great. I would say it can hold relatively good amount of data but 500 gb is actually quite low nowadays. The trade off is that you get a type C drive that is super quick at transfer. I verified the disk drive and it is 500 gb (took a shorter amount of time as it is a solid state m2 drive. In terms of transfer speed, the average was around 150 to 200 MB/s for my laptops. It was 120 MB/s between it and another portable drive. If you use the type c, the transfer speed does not seem to change from what I can tell however I have not tried it on thunderbolt 3. If you are going to use this on a mac, please note that you will have to actually format the drive to get it to work. The case is nice. It is a solid aluminum metal so you get a good passive cooling without fear of the drive breaking. It has an integrated cable that outputs to type c. I am not a fan of that design as if any damage happens to the cable, there is no easy way to replace it making the drive enclosure useless. The cable itself is pretty strong and durable but I am afraid it will get twisted and tangled overtime that may cause it to break. It has screws you can remove to get to the drive if needed which is nice. The cable is not too long and wraps around the hard drive to make it more compact and easy to store or travel with. There is a type c to USB A adapter which has a hole on the corner to put a lanyard or something through it. I would have much rather preferred it be attached to the drive somehow for easier use. I actually found a way around this by using an old clip on chain that I could attach to the cord and the adapter together. The adapter is not too big but if you happen to have it plugged in and accidentally drop something hard on it then it will most likely break. Compared to many other m2 external drive, this one a bit thicker. I assume this is to keep the drive cooler as well as protective. It is not exactly not prone to dings and dents if you happen to drop it. It will be scratched or dented if you happen to drop it. Supposedly it is meant to be a little water resistant but I still avoid dropping this in water as much as possible. It can remain plugged in for long periods of time without any heating issue or connectivity. Overall I think this is a good drive to have if you want something more protective, but you do sacrifice storage space in relation to price. I do wish the adapter was either connected somehow or had a spot on the enclosure to store it. ... show more

When I saw this external SSD and see how small it is and its rugged from the video clip. I had to get one as I'm a photographer and I'll always need a storage to keep my photo. Traditionally, I use external HDD for backing up my photos, but they are so big, heavy and taken up so much space when I travel and can be easily broken when dropped. The speed is fast !! I can transfer my work much faster than my old HDD. I love how they give you the cable: usb c to usb a. This enabled me to use it on both of my devices; one which as a usb c and one which doesn't have usb c. Lastly the carry pouch is nice, I put the cable adapter within it. it's also waterproof and remove the dirt very easily. ... show more

Capacity: 2TB
Review Image by CheeseCakeFamous
This was an easy solution to taking my pc apart to increase my internal SSD. The read/write speeds are pretty fast and the drive is very compact. I have had success running games like GTA V and Forza 7 on the drive with no issues although the drive can get hot depending on what you are demanding from it. I would recommend this product to any one who may be short on storage space! ... show more
