We just shot a Tesla and our electrician reccomended this specific amazon link to buy. It was decently priced but not the cheapest. We have been using it for a couple months and it charges our Tesla beautifully. It had a nice rubber cap to cover the charger when not in use and it has a long 25 ft durable cord that reaches when I’m too lazy to turn my car around. lol! It was easy to install and it was comparable with our 240 outlet, I’m so glad I bought this.

This is a review of the Level 2 EV Charger 50 Amp 240V, NEMA 14-50P Plug, 25FT Portable Electric Vehicle Charger for SAE J1772 Cars, Adjustable Current & Delay Timer, Fast Charging and Convenient for Home Use and Road Trip, which was listed as currently unavailable at the time of this review. This charger is well suited for drivers who already have access to a NEMA 14-50 outlet, which is one of the most common receptacles used for residential EV charging. Being plug-in rather than hardwired makes installation much simpler and also allows the charger to be taken on trips when needed. The 25-foot cable is a significant advantage. It provides enough reach to accommodate a variety of parking situations without constantly repositioning the vehicle. I also like the adjustable current settings, which allow the charger to be matched to the capacity of the circuit being used rather than always running at maximum output. The built-in display is useful for monitoring charging status, and the delay timer can be helpful for taking advantage of off-peak utility rates. The included carrying bag and portable design add flexibility for travel, vacation properties, or backup charging needs. I do not personally own a Tesla, but I have family members who do, so I picked up this mobile charger specifically for when they are over at the house visiting. After getting it set up, I realized that the easier and most cost-effective route for my driveway probably would have been to just buy a simple adapter for my existing home charger to fit a Tesla. In fact, I ended up doing exactly that in reverse—buying a Tesla-to-J1772 adapter so I can use this unit to charge my own Mercedes-Benz EQS when needed. Performance & Electrical Safety In terms of functionality, this unit works exactly the same as my standard, non-Tesla charging equipment. I run this on a 40-amp breaker, which means I am charging at a continuous 32 amps to safely respect the standard 20% electrical load rule for continuous charging. The NACS handle connector locks securely into the vehicle's port without any wiggle or connection drops. The charger handles this throughput easily, and I have not experienced any heat retention or temperature problems from the main unit or the 25-foot cables during use. The overall construction feels quite solid, and the premium connector piece itself feels heavy-duty in hand. Interface & Usability The built-in 3.5-inch LED display screen is exceptionally bright and clear, making it very easy to read the real-time charging status, current voltage, and settings. Adjusting the current level is simple and can be done quickly with the press of a single button. The unit does offer built-in smart scheduling to delay charging for off-peak hours, but I am not one to use scheduled charging functions. My personal safety rule is that I never leave my car plugged into a live charger passively. The vehicle is either actively being charged under supervision or it is completely unplugged—there is no reason to risk losing the house and the car over a delayed timer. Emporia Energy Value and Compatibility Considerations While this is a highly capable and robust plug-and-play unit with great compatibility when paired with the proper adapters, the price tag is a bit high for what it offers. Looking at the market, similar mobile charging setups can often be had at much lower prices—especially ones that offer dual-charging versatility to switch seamlessly between standard 110-volt and high-power 220-volt household outlets. The Bottom Line If a household frequently hosts Tesla-driving family members or splits time between multiple vehicles via an adapter, this charger delivers steady power, features a great diagnostic screen, and runs completely cool. However, shopping around for a budget-friendly dual-voltage version might yield a better overall value.

Overview: A level 2 Tesla charger with a 50A max output, LCD display, and scheduling options that charges much faster than a standard mobile charger. I've tried out this Tesla charger a few times now on my PHEV, and it works fine ⚡. It plugs straight into an existing NEMA 14-50 outlet, no electrician needed, and supports up to 50A, which supposedly delivers around 45 miles of range per hour, so a full charge lands around 5 hours instead of overnight. That's a solid jump over the standard mobile charger that comes with the car, kind of like upgrading from a garden hose to an actual sprinkler system. The 3.5" LCD screen shows real time voltage, current, power, and cost, so there's no guessing what you're actually paying to charge. You can also dial the current down to 16A, 24A, 32A, or 40A if your home's electrical setup needs it, and the delay timer lets you schedule charging for off peak hours to save on the bill. Cable is 25 feet, plenty of slack for a garage or driveway setup, and it's rated "IP54 waterproof" so outdoor use shouldn't be an issue. One thing to check first, confirm your outlet is actually wired for 50A before assuming full speed. Value is pretty good for a charger this capable 🔌🚗.

This Level 2 charger has been easy to use and charges my EV much faster than a standard outlet. The 25-foot cable gives me plenty of reach, and I like being able to adjust the charging current and use the delay timer when needed.
