This afternoon I plugged it into a 14-50 outlet and proceeded to charge the Truck... Then I went to the setup app and I was shocked to see it was charging at 48 amps. Bad Bad.. I turned it off, unplugged it rom the truck and set the output to the legal 40 amps with a 14-50 plug. There is no way an manufacture should ship a unit set up like this. The DEFAULT should be 40 amps. Now I wonder if 48 amps is the default and it will it revert to 48 amps with a power glitch? Other than that it is a nice unit especially for the price I paid, and it charged my Ford Lightning without a problem. I don't know if I trust it now and I may be sending it back. EDIT: The manufacture reached out to me via Amazon message. They have changed the default current rating to a realistic 40 Amps. They modified the app to change default current output. I am pleased that they reacted so quickly to address the issue I brought up. I changed my rating from a 3 star to a 4 star rating. ... show more

The charger and cable both seem to be quality. Comes with all hardware and even a Tesla adapter. It is more compact than my Bosch EV charger. I have no way of setting the amps on the unit and on the display it says 28amps. The Amazon info said 32, 40, 48 that makes you belive that you can select amps on the charger. ... show more

This EV charger does exactly what I needed it to do, without any extra gimmicks or confusing apps to deal with. I'm using this to replace the junk Ford charger that came with my 2023 Mustang MachE, which broke after less than a year of use. Mounting/install was easy (I have already installed the NEMA 14-50 plug). A couple of mounting screws to secure the bracket to the wall, and you're done. It comes with mounting hardware. There is no setup with the charger at all. you plug it in, and it starts charging. The digital readout is easy to understand without extra junk you don't need. It gives input current, input voltage, power used, and time it has been charging. When charging is complete, it tells you how many Watts it put in and how long it took. It's super easy to understand and super easy to use. After a gradual ramp-up, mine went to a little over 39 amps and stayed there. The charger made virtually no heat at all. Charged my MachE from 37% to 85% in a little over 3.5 hours. 5 stars here. I really like how simple it is and how easy it is to use. The cost is very attractive too. ... show more

I ordered this because a friend of mine has an EV and there are no charging stations anywhere near here and his plug in at home takes soo long for him. I just so happened to have access to a 220 plug not being used and, fortunately, was exactly the female counterpart to this one. He charged 25% in less than 3 hours instead of the 7 or greater it would have taken with his option. The unit has some weight to it and seems to have good components to it. It seems to be well waterproofed from the inspection I did. The display is great as well. You are also provided the mount to keep things nice and tidy. My next step, since I know how invaluable this thing is, is to have another breaker installed in a more convenient location. ... show more

Then, at that point, I saw this unit and the cost was something very similar so I took a risk and really returned the other, very much made, unit without introducing it. As a fitting and play gadget, it works perfectly and completely charges my vehicle in around 7 hours. The actual unit was not difficult to introduce except for embedding the counter burglary screw which isn't exactly required at any rate. Luckily, I had a few security pieces and I had the option to get it in. In any case, the screw at the base really holds the unit safely, was not difficult to place in, and makes the unit challenging to eliminate. I'd strongly suggest utilizing a quality electrical line on any unit so you can place the NEMA 14-50 outlet in a less expensive spot and be allowed to find the charger wherever. The charger fills in true to form. The line to plug into your vehicle is very lengthy and filled the need I really wanted it to at my leased property. Would suggest at the cost that was given. It has held up perfect against nasty weather conditions we've had in the southwest US. ... show more

Love this charger. But, please, if you buy this make sure your electrical is up to par. Seen too many people who have melted parts and whatnot because they have a 48A charger and use a 50A connection. No competent electrician will think that's a good idea. You do not want to push your electrical to the max. And certainly not when you're sleeping and charging overnight. In any case, great charger. It's beautiful and the display is super clear with large visuals. Works perfectly with your EV's (or at least my EV's) charge scheduling. Much more affordable to plug in when you get home and have it charge late night when power is the cheapest. Cables are 20ft which should be long enough for most people. ... show more
