    • Well made and functional portable charger
This isn't exactly the state of the art in EV charging but it's not meant to be. It is a very well made and functional portable charger to keep in your trunk for emergencies. It has all of the built in protections that you find in any EV charger from a legitimate manufacturer. That includes overheating protection, over voltage protection, under voltage protection, short circuit protection, etc. I haven't tried using it in bad weather yet but every indication from the product description suggests that should be no problem at all. You control the charging process through the built in touchscreen or your vehicle's onboard system. You can schedule charging for offpeak hours if necessary.     • Cable works as advertised, one very minor complaint
The only issue I had was that the end of the plug that goes into the electrical outlet, is angled downward forcing me to only plug it it into the bottom outlet. Not a major issue, but when I've already spent 500 dollars on a dedicated 240 volt line with only two outlets, it would be helpful if the plug was straight versus angle downward. Like I said, minor complaint, even with me using the adaptor to convert the plug to fit my outlet, I still get a 16amp charge. ... show more

    • Adjustable power feed and timer for starting
Nice kit for taking with you places. Comes with a bag and adaptor cord allowing you to plug it into 120V outlets or 240V. If it detects 120V, it instantly goes to 12A mode assuming 15A circuit, otherwise it assumes you want max power (16A at 240V) unless you manually adjust it to lower power. It also has a timer you can set to delay charging start for up to 12 hours (so you can plug it in at 7pm, but have it start at midnight or such which the power companies love). I have a Toyota Prius Prime where it takes 2 hours to charge at 240V power (for it's ~40 mile EV range) or 5 hours at 120V. Not sure what other cars take, but imagine them needing much more time (like 4+ hours for a Leaf with ~80 mile range, etc.) ... show more

    • Works well on my Nissan Leaf
This has been a great portable addition to my Nissan Leaf. I didn't have a portable charger to keep with me so I either had to find a charge station around town or be sure that I was fully topped off at home before leaving for work. This charger gives me the option of charging at level 1 or level 2 if I can find a 220 Volt outlet. Comes with all of the necessary adapters and a nice carrying bag so I'm happy ... show more

I've gotten several of these units to test them out, so far they all stand up to the outdoor elements, and charges with no issues. I will report back if anything changes but so far so good.
