This replaced a pergola retractable shade that basically rotted. So we weren’t sure it would work but was super easy to put up & hubby used zip ties to secure it. Looks super & works much better than the original. Believe it will hold up pretty well.

This shade came quickly and does the job it was intended to do, provides shade at a fraction of the cost of a replacement canopy from the company my pergola came from or any off-brand I found. It is a mesh-type material, not cloth, more of a plastic similar to what you find on a lawn chair. It does leak when it rains so it doesn’t provide waterproofing in rainy conditions but it does keep the sun out! I did have to order longer bungees to make it fit on my pergola but I’m really happy with it and enjoy the shade on an otherwise sunny deck! Included pictures from a sunny day to show how it blocks the light and show to material well.

The media could not be loaded. So very happy with this purchase provides great shade and feels at least 15-20 degrees cooler while under it! It even protects from rain although it’s not designed/described to! I love that I can slide it down from one end to the other as the sun sets.

For the price, this is a nice product, it does what it says it does. We bought the 12x16 and have used it for just over a year. We kept it out all last summer, but brought it inside from November - May. That said, the durability of the weighted, threaded rods are an issue. First off, the threads rust almost immediately. If you leave it out regularly in the weather, be aware that you'll need oil to screw them back in if you take them apart. Secondly, we had a thunderstorm roll through last night, which is common this time of year. The weighted rod broke at the threaded connection. If it was going to break anywhere, it was always going to be there I guess? Overall, this changes my opinion of this one a bit: 1. If these connectors break this easily, you can't leave it out all summer. You're going to break it. 2. I initially rated this as "easy to install" because it only took 30 minutes or so to get the big 12x16 up. That's not bad twice a year. If I have to take it down every time we get a thunderstorm, though, it becomes tedious and a bad investment. 3. I can't seem to find a set of replacement rods? Maybe a TANG rep can help me out?

Love the sunshade. Arrived on time, well packaged and easy to install with my daughters help. We fastened it with zip ties and it slides easily to adjust depending on where the sun hits. We did not secure with the side grommets but will wait and see if it is necessary on a more windy day.

The third time was the charm. I had a 10x10 pergola built on my deck last year. It was closer to the fall so I didn’t need a cover at that time. I started my search for a cover in February. I ordered from another company. Loved the material but it was too short. Sent that back and ordered one from another company. A little longer but rain couldn’t get through it. I didn’t want something in scutch water could just sit on the pergola so I sent that back. Plus it was still too short. I needed something that would fully cover both sides of my pergola and one which would prefect water from sitting and this was it. I had my contractor put it up and he added some things to it so I could easily roll it up if needed. Now new and colorful furniture needed.
