  • Pictures and Product description don't do the bench justice!
Style: Single Incline
I bought this product when it only had 12 reviews and one-half decent picture. From my experience with other products I could tell from the pictures that this thing was likely good quality for the price. Right off the bat the pictures and product description do not do a good job explaining just how good a quality this is especially at this price. The 2-inch square tubing is some above average steel gauge, I suspect it is 11-gauge steel. They really should disclose this here or on the Sunny website (I could not find exact specs). It is thicker than most home gym equipment I encounter unless you are paying way more than $300. I have a Rogue Echo bike and the steel being used is very close and Rogue is known for over engineering and using above average (more than is truly necessary) steel gauge. The foam padding is very high density, I have two other benches that are flat only, one of which I built myself and this is much higher density foam than either of the other two. It is 2-inch-thick foam. The vinyl fabric covering the bench is also very good with excellent stitching and no give or wrinkles. The leg foam rolls are 4x8-inch thick high-density foam and covered in vinyl and feel very good quality. They slide onto a 1-inch steel tube that is very sturdy. The red plastic end caps could have been nicer if made of some metal but surprisingly they are very strong and not as cheap as you might have thought from the pictures. They have very strong rubber anti slip feet on the ends that will not be sliding off as they do on cheap benches. It is extremely sturdy with no wobble. The backrest adjusting frame is very well made, it has very nice and thick rubber/foam handles to grab when adjusting and overall feels very premium compared to other adjustable benches with similar design I have used. Cons: it is tall (20.5-inch), taller than a competition/regulation flat bench (17-inch), thereby taller than my other two benches, which is unfortunate but not uncommon in adjustable benches. Be warned as I see someone short having issues. Just so happens to be perfect for me (6’1”). Packaging/Shipping: This arrived via UPS and the hardware was scattered all over the inside, it is technically inside a vacuum sealed package inside the larger shipping box but it arrived to me having somehow opened and scattered everywhere. The actual benches large box was not completely sealed which is risky since little pieces can easily fly out during shipping. By some miracle only 3 black flat washers were missing, which as luck would have it I had just barely enough spare ones in my home tools/supplies. But most people will not have these around. If a screw, spring washer, or other less common items like the bushings or rotation rods are missing that would have tainted the whole experience. But I will not ding a star just because the actual product is very good. One other thing is the tube on the backrest into which the bushings and one of the rods is supposed to slide into was dented and no longer a circle so rather then return I just fixed it myself and hammered things in luckily it did not affect functionality at all. I blame UPS a little on this but recommend an upgrade to packaging for the company. This probably sound scary since no one wants to have to fix new things, but shipping is always a roll of the dice, I tend to be very forgiving since I have experience fixing things. I took lots of pictures, all the ones I wish had been available when I was shopping for this bench. I think Sunny has done an amazing job at the price point, I will likely take a look at their other products and hope they do a better job advertising the good specs their equipment seems to have based on this bench. ... show more

  • Don't be a fool read the instructions.
Style: Single Incline
I also own their squat rack, and I love both pieces, very sturdy and actually had more adjustability then I was looking for. Easy to assemble if you unpack everything, and take 5 seconds to review the assembly instructions. Also get a socket wrench.

  • Solid and sturdy bench but not good for decline
Style: Single Incline
This bench is built like a tank with no wobble. Construction is high quality but there are a couple flaws. The adjustable leg extension/lock down is angled too steep and causes you to hyper extend your lower back when declined. It needs to be a little wider angle to allow your leg to elevate just slightly more. This would allow you to lay flat during decline without having to arch your back to such an uncomfortable extent. This actually feels unsafe when doing decline press. Also, the decline is a bit too steep at -20°. -15° would be my preference similar to other competing benches. This exaggerates the first issue above. The seat adjustment on mine is a bit tricky. It gets stuck and you have to put your foot down on the U support and tug on it to adjust. It just does not adjust smoothly. Last, this bench when flat is a bit high off the ground and can make getting your feet flat for bench press challenging if your are under 6ft. The U shaped support legs help here as does the leg lock/extension if it is attached. I am 6ft and it works with my feet on the U support. Still, it should be 1-2 inches closer to the ground which would also help achieve a better decline angle and help mounting over the leg extension during declines. With all that said, the bench construction is solid and quality. ... show more

  • Great build / 11 gauge steel / Decline position is dangerous
Style: Single Incline
Received fast. Easy to build. Very sturdy. Happy with the frame and structure. It's a solid bench. Works great in flat, incline and vertical mode. HOWEVER, THIS IS DANGEROUS IN DECLINE POSITION. If you want a decline bench that you can use with dumbells for dumbell decline press, please be careful. When you drop down on this bench, you can hyperextend your back. The leg posts are situated in a way that does not allow for a natural back position when in decline (when using the leg posts to hold yourself in place). So I do decline bench in an unnatural position where my legs are just sort of sticking out and trying to grab onto part of the leg posts (holding on with my hamstrings). Another slight issue is that the bench is high. I am 5'10" and I am barely able to rest my feet flat on the ground when the bench is flat. All in all, though, it's a great bench for the $$$$. And it's working well for me. ... show more

  • Sturdy bench.
Style: Flat Bench
Works well. Supports me well while lifting weights. I am 6' tall and 230lbs and this bench does not lean nor wobble during exercise. Been using it for nearly 1 yr. If you're looking for a mid-priced flat bench, this one will do the job well.

  • This bench is Built like a tank I love it
Style: Single Incline
This bench is great I wanted something solid that last for forever and this is it it's built like a tank with thick steel no wobble to it and it's prolly the cheapest one that's in the 1000lb weight class it's a little a higher off the ground than your regular bench for me I don't. Mind it I'm 6 foot 2 tho and for everything I use it for it works great.. Prolly took me about 1 hour and half. To assemble it directions where fairly easy to Follow.. Well worth the money now I can work out on the days I can't find a babysitter for my kids ... show more

  • Sturdy and easy to build
Style: Single Incline
**update. The product is wonderful for both regular and inclune excercises. I finally added on the leg braces so I could have the bench on a decline for abs. DO NOT try the decline. In all instances I felt like my back was going to get hurt. I have updated to 4* because the product is still great but cant do all ot says. This product came with easy step by step instructions. It is very well built. In the photo I havent added on the leg grips because I wont be using the bench for decline excercises at this point and time. I would recommend if you are building a home gym. ... show more
