  • Pleasantly Surprised - Its a perfect treadmill for me
Color: Silver
I was nervous buying a treadmill online and one of this size. I'm used to seeing the really big ones you see at a gym. I eventually decided on this one because if was small enough that it could fit under my couch but still had hand rails. Its easy to set up and put away. Its kinda a work out getting it out from and back under my couch, its heavier than I thought but its not so heavy I cant do it. (29yo female, 5'4" 200lbs, very out of shape...) I bought this in December 2019 and it is still working well with no issues. *knock on wood* The first couple months I walked on it for 30min-1hr a few times a week at 2-3mph. Then like all treadmill owners I stopped using it for a few months, I left it under my couch, out of the way collecting dust... It got taken out a couple times after that but now I've been using it daily again for the last month. I've been walking on it 1hr-4hr a day (4 hours broken up from morning to evening) at 2.5-3mph. The treadmill will stop after 2 hours of continuous use but can be restarted. probably better if you give it a break but It does work. Probably not recommended but I put a closet shelf on top of the hand rails and then put my laptop on it so I can walk while working too. There is still plenty of room for me to walk. Overall I'm really happy with this treadmill and would recommend it. -- June 2023 update, I still highly recommend the treadmill but mine has now officially died. In the last year I have been running 5-6 mph for 1-3 hours daily durring the summer months and then a couple times a month durring the winter. My husband tried to run on it at 7mph and the treadmill shut off and won't turn back on. The power button was VERY hot but the motor wasn't so not sure what happened exactly but very sad the treadmill died. I do with it would of lasted longer, but I never had any issues with it and it lasted 3.5 years and this is much cheaper than your normal name brand tredmills. Still tbd if I'm going to buy another one right now but if your looking for a treadmill this was pretty good overall. ... show more

  • Small but super sturdy going on 6 yrs
Color: Gold
Have this going on 5 plus years. Due to sciatica condition on my lower back, I cannot have a treadmill with an incline. I can't walk my neighbor due to hills. But I can watch TV while on my treadmill or listen to music from phone. Time flies. I have rolled this treadmill from room to room. I have collapsed it and leaned it up on the wall behind my recliner went I needed more room. But I use it so much that it is now in my spare bedroom. Love it. Still going strong and I use it about 4 days a week. I attach a phone holder, small fan, Bluetooth speaker and water bottle holder. Small enough that these items do not block my TV view. These items are easily detachable too so it's easy to collapse the treadmill. Best little treadmill. ... show more

  • So Far, So Good!
Color: Gold
UPDATE: Month 11. Unfortunately, my beloved ASUNA treadmill stopped running. The end came very quickly and without warning. I was in mid-run when all of a sudden, the engine in the machine just stopped. It would not turn on again. I think it overheated or something. Who knows? Luckily, I purchased a warranty. It worked. Amazon came and just took the machine away! Amazon was wonderful to deal with -- so if I get all (or most) of my money back, I may well buy another ASUNA 8730. While I wish this machine had more horsepower, I love its slim, trim design. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Home treadmills tend not to last -- but the pandemic forced my hand. So, six months ago, I took a chance on purchasing this ASUNA treadmill, and so far -- so good. I can't gush and rave about the ASUNA because, upon arrival, the speakers didn't work and the device holder was cracked. Luckily, Amazon quickly adjusted the price -- or otherwise I would've been forced to return it. But, I will say, this treadmill definitely deserves a high rating. This is not a fold-away toy, like the GOPLUS. At 100 pounds, the ASUNA is solidly built and sturdy. While fairly compact, I wouldn't describe it as "extremely portable," and I certainly wouldn't want to lug it across a room or try to fit it under a bed every night. The advantage, of course, is that it's sturdy with a comfortably long running deck of 49" -- substantially longer than other similar treadmills. This machine can also reach higher speeds than similarly priced models. The LCD display is easy to read and allows for tracking speed, distance, time and calories burned. I've used this treadmill almost every day for over half a year -- some days really putting it through its paces -- and I haven't had any problems. Once a month, I lightly oil the belt on my ASUNA and it remains stable and fairly quiet. Priced around $700, I consider this treadmill purchase to be money well spent. I just hope it goes the distance! ... show more

  • Life Changing & Serves Multiple Goals to Recover & Maintain Health
Color: Silver
This machine was everything we were looking for and more. After it arrived it was better than we even thought too! In no particular order it is: -pleasing to look at -surprisingly easy set up even right out of the box -as our lives and space needs change, this machine needed to be able to adapt to it, and so far it does -not too heavy for me to maneuver, despite my health challenges -sturdy and I do not fear having to replace it anytime soon -the control bar is placed in an optimal position in relation to the track - it isn't to the far front -the length of the track is not too long or short -side storage slot for the control bar & handle tightening tool was an important feature, keeping everything in one space -enjoy that you don't have to separately screw on the hand bars like other models -during the workout, the control bar also flashes between the time of session and steps, this is a nice bonus, even though I wear a FITBIT -there isn't a feature that we find wanting -there isn't a feature that we won't be using daily, either (except for maybe the speakers, as we will use Alexa or earbuds more often, but we will still make use of this) -the perfect price point for both quality and economical value -we planned to put it away after each session, but have kept it out, and this is not due to issues with putting it away, but b/c it isn't an eyesore (despite limited space and large windows we want to keep unobstructed) and we are using it more than we thought. *We bought a 6-pack of Excercise Equipment pads from Amazon. This helps to muffle the vibrations on the floor, even though we feel it is already pretty quiet, and it is on an area rug or will be used on low carpet, we find this increases the barrier between us and those in the unit bellow. -I was looking for something that had a higher maximum speed, and this fit the bill. My goal is to walk daily or do HIIT sessions 2-3 times a week. I am a slow sprinter for now, so as I am healing this will be a great service! I'm only just walking right now. (walking or HIIT are optimal exercises overall) BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND! This unit serves us in all areas this way. Our entire family has been using it multiple times a day. My husband is picky and prefers more uneven terrain outside, but still finds this quite pleasurable and my children (12 and 14) are enjoying it a lot and have plans to use it every day as they know the benefits of walking, and they even break out into some light interval sprints. I am a 39-year-old female who is also a homeschool mom. I have always been somewhat active, lean, and flexible. I was homebound 7-9 months last year, I then had 4 months beginning in November that I could leave, and with spring this year I am again homebound. I am very busy indoors, but I am not able to get enough steps within our loft apartment/condo. (I much prefer this above pacing) Due to this, the muscles in my legs have developed a limited range of motion, despite some other exercises and stretches. This issue has gotten so bad that I have continual knee pain on one side and I can only get up from sitting or the floor slowly. I have also gained almost 10 pounds and now weigh more than I ever have. (This doesn't include 2 pregnancies) Initially, my legs get a workout at around the ~10-minute mark at about 2 mph, but I am breaking up a few different 10-minute sessions throughout the day. My goal is to get to 60+ minutes a day. I am utilizing the MELT Method by Sue Hitzmann to help with this adjustment period as well as for multiple other benefits. I am also doing The Happy Body Program by Jerzy. Finally, I am in the middle of doing brain retraining with Dynamic Neural Retraining Program which encourages walking or HIIT as highly beneficial for brain health. ... show more

  • Non-existent Support gets 1 star - Please read for detailed information
Color: Gold
I received this treadmill on 6/4/2020. My male body is 6' tall and weighs 194 lbs, which is much lower than the 220 lb limit. I had problems from the beginning. I finally contacted Sunny Health and Fitness on 7/13/2020. I received the following automated response. "Thank you for contacting Sunny Health & Fitness. We will respond to you as quickly as we can. Your ticket is 17730081." About 20 minutes later I received the following: "To process your request, we still need the below information. Please provide: - Your Phone - Serial Number - Address - Proof of Purchase (for warranty issues only) - What is this? Once we have all the above, we can provide the best solution. Have a Sunny Day! Annie" I replied with all the information and have never received another email from them, and today is 8/8/2020, but I have sent 4 emails to them with the ticket number in the subject heading, with sound recordings, a photo, and a video, with the last 2 attached to this review! The poor quality photo shows that the motor is turned about 2 degrees, so the pulleys aren't parallel. This puts stress on the belt and might cause a failure. The video shows the treadmill belt while the motor is running, and every complete rotation shows a jump in the belt. This is probably a poorly manufactured belt. Search for "Asuna 8730G user manual" to find the user manual. Pages 2 and 3 have exploded diagrams, which might help while reading this. You will need to turn them 90 degrees clockwise to see them clearly. On page 3 you can see the uprights assembly. At the bottom of both the right and left uprights you will see parts 68, 6, and 47. On page 2, in the middle of the main frame, you will see parts 78 and 76 for both sides. These last parts are washers and nuts that screw onto the end of the bolts, part 68. At the head of those bolts is where one inserts the included tool to loosen and tighten the arm assembly so it can be moved up and down. This whole area didn't seem to have very much if any lubrication, so I could hear metal on metal squeaking when turning the bolts, which were very hard to turn. I removed these parts, cleaned everything in the area, and reinstalled the parts after putting on a good amount of silicone grease. The bolts turn much more easily, but there still is a feeling of metal on metal which doesn't feel good. Part 47, listed above, is a large VERY STRONG compression spring, and it might be the cause of the metal on metal feeling, as it puts a tremendous pressure on the threads. I don't know if this is just bad design or a manufacturing problem. On page 3, you will see the main structural supports label 2R and 2L. At the bottom of those is a mechanism that is not shown separately. When the uprights are upright, and the 2 bolts (part 68) have been loosened, one still needs to push firmly, for a few inches, on the whole upright assembly to lower it. The mechanism I mentioned is what creates the resistance and then releases. It took quite a bit of force to get it to work, so I sprayed some silicone into those areas, which is between the base and the bottom of the uprights, and it is so much easier to move now! So this is another area that didn't seem to get the lubrication. Trying to remove a noise I sometimes hear, I have tightened all the screws and bolts that I can find, and even took off the motor cover from the top to see if there was anything in there that might be causing the sound. The belt is tightened so that the middle of it can be lifted about 2" to 2 1/2", and is centered on the rollers. The sound isn't loud at all, and it only happens maybe 20 % of the time, but it makes me feel that something is wrong, but this is my first treadmill so I don't know what is to be considered OK. I run a little at 4 mph, but mostly walk at 2.2 mph. I seem to hear the noise more after running, and it seems to be in sync with my left foot to some degree. If I move both feet to the right it seems to go away, but when I move back to the left it returns. There is also a fairly loud squeak that comes from the right front side, but it is also intermittent I contacted support at Amazon, and the woman I dealt with was very nice and spent 5 days trying to reach support. She got to them once and they didn't want to talk but just asked that I send a video to them. I contacted another Amazon support person and explained everything all over, and that person ended up transferring me to someone at a higher level. She was able to contact support at Sunny. I then had a conversation with a man who was very nice. He didn't really understand the product but stated they had one. I had him look at my emails and the attachments. Then had him look at the user manual as I explained the problems. He didn't seem to have any personal knowledge, but told me he would talk to the manager and call me back before 5 PST. I have never heard from anyone at Sunny Support. One good thing about all of this, is that I am much more aware of the machine and how to maintain it. I do like the treadmill because it can be stored vertically leaning against a wall and takes up little space. My concern is that because of all the problems that it will fail; and because Sunny Support basically doesn't exist, that I won't ever be helped. Update 1: Being bothered by the metal on metal scraping feeling when turning the#68 bolt, I decided to take it apart, once again, and measure the spring with a digital caliper. The diameter of the wire of the extremely strong compression spring (part #47) was 2.5mm, with the outside diameter of the spring being 23mm, the inside diameter being 18mm, and the length 18mm. I purchased some springs on Amazon that were 1.2mm wire to replace the included ones, as their whole purpose is just to push out on part #6, thus allowing the upright to be raised and lowered. These were approximately 1/4 of the strength of the included springs, and were strong enough to easily push out part #6. I also purchased some "Permatex 81343 Anti-Seize Lubricant, 1 oz. Tube" on Amazon. I cleaned off all the parts and put the springs on the end of part #6, and then put the Anti-Seize Lubricant on the #68 bolts. This greatly reduced the friction when turning the bolts, and made it feel better, but even then I can feel a slight metal on metal grinding. I think this whole assembly is a bad design. Wouldn't it be easier to have a mechanical button to lock and unlock the uprights? Update 2: Please watch the manufacturer video on Amazon. At :59 seconds there is a supposed demonstration showing the "Simple Setup", which they show only takes 12 seconds! This is a total lie! I have been using this treadmill 2 times a day for 67 days, and can set it up and take it down fairly quickly. I timed myself for the whole process and it took me 3:36, which includes about 1:48 for setup, and the same for tear down. That amount of time isn't that great, but the outright lie in the video bothers me greatly. I have it against the wall and only need to move it 10 feet and lower it, which doesn't take much time. Then I need to plug it in and unscrew the #68 bolts (one on each side), with each needing to be turned about 3 full turns (or 6 half turns). Then I raise the upright assembly, and then need to tighten the #68 bolts with each needing to be turned about 3 full turns (or 6 half turns). Then I can rotate the handles and tray into place and turn it on. In the video she only turns the bolt on the front right 1 full turn (or 2 half turns), which isn't enough to even be able to raise (or lower) the upright assembly. Update 3: I am spending all this time and energy to of course be helped by support, but mainly it is to help the company realize their support is very poor, and that their dishonesty exposes problems within the company. I think this treadmill has great potential, so I wish they would fix all their problems and be honest, as it could sell very well. I posted much of the first part of this review on their website (sunnyhealthfitness.com), but they didn't post it for people to read. Then I asked why they are only posting 4 and 5 star reviews. Finally they posted it, and added the reply below. It seems they do this as a marketing strategy, as you can see on some of the 1 star review comments here on Amazon. The question is, do they ever actually work with the customer and fix the problems. In my case, the answer is no. Here is what they added to my review on their website, but I have never been contacted, and they don't allow people to reply to their comment. "Sunny Health and Fitness Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We sincerely apologize for your experience and for the delay in communication. Our support team has been dealing with an overwhelming number of tickets and they are working as quickly as they can to service all of our customers. We want to get you up and running as soon as possible and will have a team member reach out to you shortly. Thank you for your patience and understanding!" Update 4: I was using my treadmill at 2.2 mph, but with my 194 pound body every step would slow the motor a bit and then it would speed up again. I increased the speed in .1 mph increments and it got better. When I reached 2.7 mph the motor was steady. Being that the treadmill is rated for a 220 lb person, it will probably be worse for a body of that weight. It seems that the manufacturer is more interested in the marketing of the highest speed of 8 mph, than they were in optimizing it for people using it at the most common speeds. If I press down on the arms, which in effect transfers the body weight to the frame, I can stop the varying motor sound. So if one has a body that is maybe 150 lbs they might not experience this problem. My concern is that using it at 2.2 mph will hurt the motor more. It works fine at 2.7 mph, so that is the slowest speed I use. ... show more

  • No regrets!
Color: Gold
Of all the quarantine purchases I've made, this one is probably in my top 3. With the gyms closed and the weather getting colder, we wanted something to use for cardio, but also was maneuverable and could still allow us to be flexible with our use of space, since we never intended to have anything resembling a "home gym". It needed to go in our guest room, but also needed to be able to collapse and fit under the bed for when we would (eventually) have guests again. We were actively not looking for ones that "folded" to an upright position because of the space issues. The assembly was super easy. It's literally as simple as the instructions say, though I'd budget a tiny bit longer, so maybe 5 min, max? The wheels make it easy to maneuver forward and back and side to side, and it's very manageable for 2 people to move around. When we were moving it around to get it into position, my husband had to stand and hold it while upright while I moved a rug, and it wasn't awkward or hard for him to do that--no weird balance issues or wobbly bits where it would make movement difficult. We measured, and it will also fit under our guest bed, which is pretty low to the ground, though we'll likely have to slide it in at an angle, but it'll get there. Overall, it's pretty quiet for a treadmill. We did buy some foam gym floor puzzle squares and the treadmill mat to go under it to protect our hardwood floors and also to dampen the impact noise when running. The difference in sound was noticeable after we put the foam and mat under it, so I'd recommend this to anyone where this could be an issue. We found foam pieces that were 1 foot by 1 foot so there wouldn't be too much excess sticking out. For the price, it's great. We had no desire to spend $3-4k on a treadmill that would eventually be a clothes rack, but that's just us. If you're expecting something super high-tech with all the bells and whistles, this one isn't for you. We were happy with the max speed and the weight limit, and if it had incline it would be nice, but then it likely wouldn't fold flat like we wanted, so it's a give and take. But it's pretty much what we wanted, so I consider this a big win. So far it gets used maybe 6x per week (each of us running 3ish x each), and it's been awesome. Bottom line--if you're short on space and need a fold flat treadmill that goes up to 8mph, this is the one. Like the review title says, no regrets. ... show more

  • Perfect for Small Spaces
Color: Silver
After buying my first home—a 150-year-old colonial with a mere 800 square feet of space and only 1-1/2 stories—I was on the hunt for a treadmill that would store under my living room couch. I primarily work from home, and getting steps in can be tricky during the winter months. I mean, the windchill was -20 degrees Fahrenheit this morning. If I don’t have to brave the bitter cold or a storm dumping 2’ of heavy lake effect snow, I would prefer to bunker down where there’s central heating, a kettle whistling on the stove and fuzzy slippers. I had been eyeing the Sunny Health & Fitness ASUNA Treadmill for months. It was the most compact treadmill I had come across that also had decent ratings and went over 5.0 mph. I measured the space between my couch and the floor, so I knew I was working with about 5" of clearance. I pulled the trigger. I was so excited when I saw that Amazon delivery truck pull up right on schedule. My husband helped me drag it inside from the covered porch where they left it. After opening the box and reading the instructions, I decided that it was best to follow them and lubricate the board. That night, I took it for a spin, and when I was finished, I used the key to fold down the arms and get it ready for storage. However, when attempting to slide the treadmill under the couch, I discovered that the folded height is greater than 4-1/2”, which was called out in one of the product images on Amazon, as well as on the manufacturer’s website. Gasp. I got out the measuring tape. The side where the motor lives actually measures 5-1/4". I was so sad. My husband told me to return it, since the only place we could realistically store a treadmill was under the couch. But that wasn't going to happen—I was dead set on making it work. So what did I do? I ordered 6" legs for my couch and ottoman, which when installed, offered just enough clearance. I can now easily slide the treadmill in and out using the included wheels. On that note, yes, the treadmill is heavy. And while I’ve never personally found it difficult to maneuver, I can see how it could be wieldy for other users. For instance, my senior mother wouldn’t be able to wheel it. Overall, I’m very pleased with this purchase. The compactness is its greatest feature, but I also enjoy its simplicity. Attach the safety clip, press start, use the buttons to adjust the speed and get walking, jogging or running. The only thing that can be annoying is the touch controls. The plus side? They’re easy to press. Downside? I tend to accidentally press them all the time during workouts, especially the pause button. But I really only have myself to blame for that one. Oh. And one last fun fact—my cat loves this thing. The ASUNA text on each side of the belt is especially entertaining. She loves the treadmill to such a great extent that she often gifts it with her favorite toy. I think I could eventually get her to walk on it, and then maybe we both could get in better shape. ... show more

  • Slim and VERY sturdy...but heavy
Color: Gold
Initial thoughts: - Even though we had all the measurements from the Amazon site, when fully assembled, this treadmill looks full size; I am 6 ft. tall, and 180 lbs, it is well within my stride with lots of room front and back. - Surprisingly very sturdy construction; feels like it can take a pounding and does not feel at all flimsy or cheaply made. - HEAVY. At 100 lbs, it will take two normal people to move the packed treadmill into unpacking location. In an apartment or condo complex (like us), would suggest opening the box and unpacking in mail room (keep the box as it has excellent form-fitted Styrofoam which exactly matches the treadmill...excellent for packing, not so excellent for the environment but you're not likely to throw the Styrofoam away soon). Once out of the box, the bottom wheels make maneuvering much easier whether into an elevator or just down the hall. - Assembly. Basically none except for removing plastic/tape and unscrewing the arm rests with the supplied tool. When everything is in place, it looks close to a full size treadmill. The initial unscrewing of the arm rests is a bit difficult as manufacturer secured strongly for shipping. For those without a lot of hand strength, you may need some help getting those bolts turned the first time. We secured and unsecured the bolts for the arm rests several times to make them a bit easier to loosen/tighten later. The electrical cord is decent-sized (6 ft.) and should work for most people. - Initial use: there is an on/off switch by the power cord unlike many other "slim" treadmills. Good idea. Once turned on, the controls on top of the arm rest are very easy to read and well-marked. One caution: hitting the "4" key takes you pretty quickly to 4 mph, so just be prepared to move pretty quickly to that speed. I would suggest hitting the "2" which takes you quickly to 2 mph and then using the "+" key which adds mph in 0.1 increments but can be done pretty quickly too. Safer in my opinion. Also--and this may be important for some people--the moment you hit stop, every control returns to zero. So if you want to know distance/speed/calories, etc. slow down the treadmill to a minimum speed, note the numbers, then hit stop. I don't like that feature, but it is what it is. [editied:] found an easy fix. Hit pause, which stops the treadmill, chech or copy workout data, the stop to clear treadmill memory. - Storage. Under the bed is possible but as someone else posted, the position of the wheels mean that you'll need at least a 9-10 inch clearance (NOT/NOT 5 inches). Why? When the treadmill is flat, the rubber feet rest directly against the floor--there is no front wheel contact--and the treadmill is nearly impossible to move. One must raise the rear of the treadmill about 9-10 inches before the front wheels touch the floor. I suppose one might try furniture slides under the rubber feet, but we gave up and found an alternative site: behind our bedroom door. It is probably better than under the bed anyway. See attached picture. Yes, the upright unit is that slim and fits very well behind the door and door jamb! Important caution: fully upright, the unit is not fully stable on the wheels--we will need to secure the unit to the wall with some kind of clip or secure the door to the wall (more likely). Otherwise, if the top of the unit moves away from the wall even a couple of inches, the entire treadmill could come crashing down. Not a big problem as long as you realize it. After a few weeks of use, we will re-evaluate, but as of now: VERY HAPPY with the purchase. ... show more
