  • Functions like a treadmill
Amazon prime delivery was on time and efficient. No shipping damage, all the bits and pieces that were supposed to be in the box were in the box. You do need a Phillips head screwdriver and adjustable wrench for assembly. I, 55f and the only one in the house who reads instructions and makes sure all the pieces are there first, decided to put it together myself. It didn't feel like 2.5 hours but that's how long it took. Did I complain? A little. In Step 6 I carefully loosened/tightened four pre-attached screws in the handrails to get the larger screws/washers in place. Turn the page for Step 8 to read "if there are four screws pre-attached inside ... remove and discard them..." grumble. It's recommended you have a person help you hold to attach the console assembly but it's doable by yourself if you're flexible. I did need the second person for steps 13-15 (of 17) to hold the belt frame up while I attached the crossbar and storage latch. Yes, there are stickers and "warnings" stating that the treadmill is locked and will not start until activated at ifit.com. You do NOT need to enter your credit card information (find the small font that says skip or no thank you). You will still get the one month free trial. I do not like that I cannot input individual stats (height, weight, etc.) into the treadmill directly. Those fancy features come with the ifit app subscription. I did poke around the iFit programs a bit - would have been nice for it to limit what I could see to this particular machine; in other words there were plenty of programs that incline to 18% or 34% automatically - useless for this machine as it only goes to 10%. But, the walks/runs that take you on tours of places are neat. Would I buy into the subscription? Not unless it synchs with my Fitbit which it does not. Speaking of which, the treadmill pulse bar monitor and my Fitbit read are fairly close. I'm not sure about distance/steps because I keep forgetting to check...which is why synching would be nice. The machine lifts out of the way and lowers easily (not a feature we use regularly but it's there if needed). As with every other piece of exercise equipment we've ever owned, the built in speakers are not awesome. The lip at the bottom of the console holds phone/tablet admirably, if I could design it myself I would have it at the top so that I didn't have to look down to see my phone (as the ifit trainer is telling me to keep my head up). NOTE: none of the assembly steps in the manual indicate to attach the safety key. It's just pictured hanging off the pulse bar in the final step (it did not come attached, it's wrapped in a small bag with the screws etc.). You do need to have the red safety key in place on the pulse bar to make the machine work (there's a small indented area with a key logo). The important emergency information on how the *safety* part of the key works (if the clip is attached to you) is highlighted in the manual under HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER. Be safe. So far, we've had four family members of varying sizes use the machine on full workouts - walkers and runners. Haven't wanted to adjust cushioning, there's been no belt slippage and there have been no weird noises. For the price, we recommend it. UPDATE 3 months later: after browsing the iFit programs for a few days I found the functionality between the app and the treadmill to be what I needed in my life. I have an annual subscription (still don't need to leave your CC info with them permanently). Because I'm not just staring at the wall while using the machine I look forward to hopping on 5-6 days a week faithfully, traveling around the world - heck, I've even done a few virtual 5k races! Machine is still solid - I use it the most, but my husband is on it 3-4x/week and a teenager too. No squeaks or issues thus far. ... show more

  • Excellent treadmill, great price, nice features
This NodricTrack T Series treadmill is an excellent mid-priced entry into the market. If you’re looking for a solid home treadmill without spending a fortune, this a fantastic option. Assembly isn't too bad - most people will be able to knock it out in under an hour, but it's extremely helpful to have another set of hands for some of the steps, and in case you need to move the box to another room after delivery (it is very, very heavy). The iFIT tech is very cool, where trainers can actually change your speed and incline for you while you're following a class, but that feature requires a subscription. Operation is very quiet and has great cushioning, also the deck is wide and long enough for large adults (I'm a 6' male runner), and it folds up super easily when you're done. All-in-all I'm very happy with the purchase and hope that it lasts me for many years. ... show more

  • Maintenance Agreement is a scam
Edit: The NordicTrack maintenance agreement is a scam. I paid $200 for the 3 year agreement. First visit (still under warranty) was free to me. Called today for 2nd year and they are charging me a $25 travel fee for the tech to come out. That might be worth it if the machine was broke, but just basic lube and diagnostic it is a little steep. Machine is still great, but think carefully before buying the maintenance agreement. I could probably find a tech for basics a lot cheaper....and probably even just pay for broke parts with the $200 if it ever comes to that. One year on review: Definitely worth it -but shines with the iFit app. I got the small basic screen model T6.5S, but it was on sale for less than $500 delivered. Bought a Samsung Android Tablet and it has worked fine for using iFit app. The treadmill functionality really shines if you use the iFit trainings regularly. The speed and incline are controlled by the particular workout (but you can turn it down or up when needed). The iFit trainers are all very good but really enjoy Tommy Rivs and Stacie Clark workouts. I have worked up to 50 miles of running and 30 miles of hiking over the year. Lost 10 lbs and feel a lot better in general. The combo treadmill and iFit made that possible. Called for the annual maintenance and that was simple and easy. The five year maintenance plan was worth it for me, but this was my second treadmill and I knew I would put in a lot of exercise time. Assembly and first impressions (right after purchase) The first few instructions are a little sketchy unless you read the instruction manual. I tried their video build option and it is not nearly detailed enough. They use three different bolts for each support and the packaging gives the impression you just use one size. Once you read the instruction in the booklet, it all makes sense. There are a couple of points where they recommend having a helper and that would be nice, but I didn't have one. I used a couple of ratcheting bars to hold the control panel in place while I screwed it in and made the electronic connections. Worked fine. The other point is adding the pressure tube under the track part. I had a longer ratcheting bar and was able to brace the running track up so I could make the connections underneath. It worked fine, but did feel a little dangerous. That track is extremely heavy if it dropped on you. I set up a couple of chairs so it would not fall completely to the ground if it had come loose and tried to work as much as possible at the edge so I could get myself out of the way if it dropped. It worked great out of the box. Not sure how well it will hold up, but have seen videos of it working fine after six months. My old treadmill had lasted five years, and probably will make five more but I wanted the auto incline feature on the NordicTrack. ... show more

  • I can't seem to find anything terribly wrong with it.
The first thing to point out is that this item is not meant to be some sort of “super” treadmill with tons of bells and whistles. If that is what you are looking for, break out the checkbook baby. This is supposed to be inexpensive, compact and convenient and that is exactly what I was looking for. This was a Christmas gift for my girlfriend when I felt bad that she couldn’t go out and take her morning walk or jog because it was either horribly cold or raining. I was a bit concerned when I pulled it out of the box as it didn’t look exactly like the pictures. The labeling and graphics were not the same. But, it went together without any trouble and it fired up as expected. So, in order to make sure it was safe for her to use, I thought I would try it out. Yeah right… I just wanted to check it out. Thinking about all the reviews I was reading, complaining of belts needing constant adjustment or strange noises coming from the unit, I clenched my teeth waiting for something to be “off” with the machine. But after about 5 minutes of taking a stroll on it and feeling my legs starting to burn, I said “yeah… this will work.” It has come to the point for me to state my opinion of this device in a review. So I asked the person who is to be using it what they thought of it. Turns out they have used it several times and they said that they are actually quite pleased with it. So I have to say that I believe this is a rather decent unit for what it is. I still get a laugh every time I revisit the ad and see the scaled down woman running on it in the photo. I certainly wouldn’t want to be taking long strides on it. No more than a nice vigorous jog. I’m trying to get my girl to learn to try some of the programs in it and see if she finds a routine that she likes and can repeat it as she chooses. So, unless something seriously goes wrong, I will have to say it is quite okay for what it is in my honest opinion. I am not sorry that I bought it. ... show more

  • I recommend
I give the NordicTrack T6.5S a five star review. It is a perfect addition to me and my families workout routine. Love that it folds up so that its out of the way when not using. Very sturdy, has adjustable feet to make sure its level. The size is perfect not too much but still enough to be able to progress on different levels. Inclines to 10 plenty high. Easy to use, just drop the platform and its ready to go. Compatible with iFit app, but also has saved workout programs. Freestyle also available. ... show more

  • An excellent treadmill from a brand known for quality
This is a great unit for all fitness levels. The item was delivered by two Amazon carriers and brought inside my front door. It’s HEAVY. Assembly took about an hour for two people. Setup instructions were easy to follow and all the required tools were provided. Small details like the screw sets being divided by the installation step and labeled clearly really helped. Instructions were clear and easy to progress through. We’ve been using this now for a few weeks and are impressed with the solid build and performance. Speed and incline adjustments are easy to set. I don’t have a subscription to the iFit service you can add on for programmable workouts but it’s not essential for using this unit. Coming from walking pad, the generous 20” wide ramp is greatly appreciated. You have plenty of surface area to walk on. I’m able to set my iPad or phone on the ledge by the controls when I want to watch a video or listen to music. The unit also folds up to save on some space when not in use and requires minimal effort to do so. I’ve known the NordicTrack brand for a long time and knew they made quality exercise equipment. This is my first purchase for home use from their brand and I am highly satisfied with the delivery, setup and product quality for this price point. I’d definitely recommend to anyone in the market for a treadmill. ... show more

  • Died 20 minutes after professional installation. (UPDATED)
I bought this for my mother, it arrived on time. No issues. I paid for the expert installation, which we had no problems. 15 minutes after the technician left, the thing stopped working. Of course I was at work, so when this occurred my mom did not know what to do. She called the tech back and he confirmed he could not figure out why it stopped. Later that evening I stopped by my moms house to see what the story was. Everything seemed to work except the belt. Now I have to call NordicTrack and see when they can send someone out. Amazon, is pretty good about offering solutions as far as returns. I was given 3 options. 1. Call Norditrack 2. Have a local repair person fix it, and they would refund me $120.00 3. Complete refund on both the unit and shipping (I would assume the 3 year maintenance plan). I am giving this 1 star because despite some of the good and bad stories, there should be no reason why this thing should have died. I am hoping I get a quick response tomorrow and we can work from there. I will update as we go along. ***************UPDATE So it was initially decided that the motor was broken on the machine by the technician who was dispatched about a week later. It took about 2 weeks to receive another motor. Add a few days to dispatch another tech at this point we are talking almost a month since the machine has arrived. (I was actually contemplating of just doing a return because it was nearing the time to pay the charge on my credit card.) Back to the story, so the tech shows up, we have the new motor, and an excited mom, I then find out that its not the motor, but the control panel. Again back to square one, another 2 weeks for delivery. Again a couple days to dispatch a technician once the part arrived. Tech arrived installed the new control panel and the machine runs, and hasn't had a problem since. Its been working with no issues for about 2 months now. Mom is happy, but I'm not really sure it was worth it. At this point I can't recommend purchasing this unit through this sales channel. Amazon was perfect but I don't know if it is Norditrack, the warehouse who holds this equipment, XPO who ships this equipment, the tech who installed this equipment... bottom line... a product was purchased for over $700 and it didn't work for almost two months from the day the transaction was completed. We weren't given anything for our troubles. Yes we weren't told "oh well sorry no refunds, all sales are final", we were offered a refund of $120 if we decided to let Norditrack off the hook and go with a local repair person, but there was nothing saying "we are sorry for what happened, the month and a half that was lost will be on us" (the company that failed to delight you as a customer). The only power as a customer is a review, to forewarn others of such an awful experience. I work in the customer service industry, so I know how hard it can be to please customers. In this case, the product offer and the services to support it were abysmal. Sincerely, Sam K. ... show more

  • A great treadmill at an affordable price!
My wife and I found that we weren't getting the exercise we needed and decided to buy a treadmill. After much research and visiting stores to try them out, we decided to buy this NordicTrack T Series 6.5. We had the Amazon team assemble and set it up and they did a great job. The treadmill was simple to use and the display panel easy to read. My wife likes the versatility of the programs, so it never gets boring. The controls are intuitive and I found that the movements (starting the belt and using the incline) were smooth. The fact that it folds ups to a fairly small footprint was a bonus because it allowed us to place it in a spare bedroom so we could fold it away when guests are staying. It is very sturdy and I believe this will last many years. This was a great choice for us! ... show more
