šŸš€ Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Sunny Stepping Elliptical Machine is generally liked by customers, who mention the machine being quiet, compact, easy to move around, and a great tool for intense home workouts. Most reviews highlight the assembly process and recommend using your own wrenches and potentially watching instructions videos to ensure proper setup.

Pros

  • šŸ”§ Assembly is fairly straightforward once understood
  • šŸ”‡ Runs quietly, especially important for apartment dwellers
  • šŸ‹ļø Provides intense, sweat-inducing workouts
  • šŸ“ Suitable for shorter individuals
  • šŸŖ‘ Stable on flat surfaces like cement

Cons

  • šŸ› ļø Provided tools are deemed insufficient by some reviewers
  • 🧩 Assembly can be confusing, especially the tension cable part
  • šŸ™ƒ A few users noted issue with stability on mats and rugs, recommend hard surfaces
  • šŸ”© Some users reported the need for periodic tightening of screws during workouts

Should I Buy It?

If you're looking for an affordable, home-friendly exercise machine and don't mind some assembly hurdles, the Sunny Stepping Elliptical Machine could be a good fit. It appears to provide solid workouts and function well once assembled correctly. Do note the cautionary comments about using your own tools and the need for potential screw tightening over time.

  • Good machine once it's set up
Color: Gray
I had to have a handyman put this together, but I'm very happy with it now that it's up and running. It's quiet. You can increase the resistance and get a good workout. I've had it for a while, use it a lot and see no sign of wear and tear. It's heavy and a bit hard for someone like me to move around, so just be sure to put it in the right place when you set it up. ... show more

  • Assembly nightmare
Color: Dark Gray
If I could give this a zero star, I would… I purchased the sister elliptical to this one and had the same issue I’m having with this one. I had to get a refund for it because it was defective just like this one. Btw- don’t throw out your box, they will want you to ship this thing back and getting a box big enough for it can be challenging. Otherwise you will not get your money back. I had a huge ordeal with Amazon customer service over this issue. And trust me, you’ll most likely be shipping it back... So anyways, I purchased this one in hopes that it would be a little better for assembly. The bolts to the pedals are not threading up and if they do, they get jammed, so much so that you can’t get it to thread through all the way to be able to place the nut on it to secure it. It’s frustrating because I was finally able to get everything else on there except for that bolt and the plastic pedal piece due to this issue. I can’t use this product until I can assemble it fully. It’s really frustrating and annoying that this has now happened twice with the same piece. **Also- when I purchased the first one, I learned first hand that if the manufacturer issues you a replacement piece, that you might as well get your certificate as a mechanic because you will then need to fully dismantle the entire inside of the elliptical to replace the defective piece, which in my case, it was the crank arms for the pedals. They expect you to remove the old crank arm from inside and replace it. Right down to the barrings. Which btw, also were busted on the first one. There is a belt so tight that wraps around the crank arm and another mechanism that is so ungodly tight that you will spend a good amount of time trying to get off. It’s nearly impossible to place back on. It didn’t make sense to me why they didn’t just ship a whole new main frame piece with a new crank arm. Instead I almost broke my hand on the belt and couldn’t even replace the crank due to the busted barrings. The manufacturer did help as much as they could. They were actually the reason why I received my refund. Amazon on the other hand made it so difficult. This product is just a hassle and not able to be used. ... show more

  • Compact & Stable Elliptical, Great for Daily Weight Loss
Color: Dark Gray
I’ve been using this elliptical for several months before writing a review because I wanted to see how it held up over time rather than sharing first impressions right away. One of the first things I noticed is how compact and lightweight it is. I was a little concerned that the lighter weight might make it feel unstable during workouts, but that hasn’t been the case at all. It’s surprisingly sturdy and stays firmly in place while I’m using it, even when I increase my pace. I’ve never experienced any wobbling or shifting. Another feature I really like is the six resistance levels. It’s easy to adjust the intensity depending on how challenging I want my workout to be that day. Some days I prefer a lighter session, while other days I want more of a challenge, and this machine handles both well. Overall, it’s been a great addition to my home workout routine. Whether you’re looking to stay active, improve your fitness, or burn some extra calories, this elliptical is a solid choice. It doesn’t take up much space, feels well-built, and gets the job done. ... show more

  • Excellect buy for the money!
When my local gym closed, I began exploring my options. The next closest gym was about 8 miles away and cost approx. $375.00 a year. Since I rarely used any of the equipment other than the ellipticals, I priced them at the local sporting good stores and found that they cost anywhere from a $650.00 to over $1000.00. Then I found this unit on Amazon for a little over $200.00 dollars. I weigh 245 lbs. but it claims a weight limit of 250-265 lbs. I was suspicious of the low price but decided to take a chance. Delivery was ahead of schedule and the assembly instructions were clear and easy to follow. (Tools were provided) It took me about 45 minutes to put it together. As I said earlier, I am a large guy (6 ft tall and 245 lbs) and and I have used consumer grade gym equipment before. It is usually rickety and has a tendency to warp or break when stressed. While I cannot vouch for the long term durability of this machine, I can tell you that it has a very sturdy feel about it with very little shimmy or wobble Now for the negatives: 1. There is very little difference in resistance between the lowest and highest setting. I don't know if this problem is just in my machine or in all machines. 2. Due to it's compact length, there is a shorter stroke than many users may be accustomed to. It gave me a sensation off pedaling downhill and leaning into the hand grips. I solved this by placing 2 wooden posts (3 inches thick) under the front floor bar. (this doesn't hurt your ability to level the machine, as the levelers are on the rear bar) 3. If you have very large feet you could have trouble with the foot cups. I wear a size (12- 4E) and I had to change to a less wide shoe to fit into the foot holder All things considered, I think this is an absolutely terrific machine for the money. The problems are trivial and both the cost and the quality are excellent! . ... show more

  • For the money, it's okay, especially for the average home user.
Color: Dark Gray
Though the printed instructions were on par with Ikea, there are very helpful Youtube tutorials to demonstrate assembly. Overall, it took me about two hours, and would have been less time if the tension rod had been easier. I'm a very tiny person and don't pull a strong bow, so I did struggle quite a bit with pulling the tension rod in the neck of the machine. I also had to use pliers to open the place for the base of the tension rod to go (and then closed it back) because for the life of me I couldn't get it in there. But if you've ever assembled a multi-speed bike, it seems similar. The machine itself is okay. Not terrible, not top of the line great, but okay. It's sturdy and well-made, but you will need something under the front and back feet to keep it from skidding all over a hard surface. A yoga mat will do, but this is something that people should know first simply because trying the machine out with nothing underneath meant that the machine and I both traveled around my dining room as I gave it a 15 minute test run. The glide is perhaps not as smooth as higher end machines, and is the sort of nondescript machine that you'd find in the apartment complex gym. The big disappointment is the little computerized meter. I cannot get it to register with the heart rate monitor in the grips, and it doesn't record time, distance, or calories. It turns on and is supposed to do those things - that's why this machine is an upgrade that costs so much more. But it's an upgrade that I cannot use at all. I thought the monitor would be more like a tablet connected to the machine, but it's just a very thin, cheap plastic with the wires plugged in, which apparently is entirely decorative. It doesn't render the machine useless, just more difficult to track calories burned or distance run. Overall, it's not bad. It's a decent machine for what you pay for, and on sale it's a good bargain. ... show more

  • If you just want to work out and don't want a huge complex machine that fills a room, this is it
This was perfect for me. I was pleasantly surprised at how sturdy and secure it was once I started using it. Very quiet (a few squeaks) but smooth). Felt just as nice as the pricey ones I had tried out elsewhere. Some complain of the short stride - that was one feature I liked. I am 5'2" and a 18-20" stride was impossible to handle comfortably. This machine does not have the WiFi, video, bells and whistles of nice big ones but those are wasted on me anyway. I am not going to live on the thing. At my age the size is ideal. Only weighs @ 90-100 lbs. easy to move around, but too sturdy and steady to tip. I get on carefully anyway because I am cautious. Gives me a good workout. Was easy to put together IF YOU FOLLOW DIRECTIONS carefully. I personally thought the directions were excellent. Nice exploded view, (study it carefully, if anything seems missing or strange) and it emphasizes need to be careful when putting on the left side parts - screw threads go a different direction. What really helped, was that the screws, bolts etc involved in each step were bagged separately and labeled with the step number, a truly inspired idea in my book. ... show more

  • Crappy packing / Poor parts and hardware
Color: Dark Gray
Packing had tons of tape on the inside and made it difficult to unpack! Right handle foam grip arrived torn. Some scratches on certain parts. Nuts, Bolts Washers, Bolt caps didn’t fit right. Washers were being bent badly during tightening. Moving parts had excessive grease and made a mess on my hands then transferred onto parts of elliptical and made it difficult to work on and assemble properly. I purchased for my wife so she will let me know on how it performs. ... show more

  • Good value
I have been using it for 2 years now, and it has held up well. I started with 3 workouts a week and am up to 5 or 6 now, and it's a bit noisier than it was new, and I need to tighten up the bolts every now and then, but it seems like it will last a good while longer. In combination with low-sodium low-fat diet, I have been able to control my BP well enough to stop taking medications for it ( with my doctors permission), my HDL is rising and I have lost 10-12 pounds (not really trying to lose weight, it just happens as a byproduct, I guess).. I only use the speedometer part of the dashboard, so I can't really say much about how well that works. I recommend this product as a good value elliptical trainer. ... show more
