I was very excited to try by Sunbello on our 5 day trip to the Outer Banks of NC. This sun shade did not disappoint. On the first evening we tried it there was minimal wind but we staked it into the sand and it provided great protection from the sun. The next day there was a great deal of wind which caused the Sunbello to rotate often and not provide consistent shade. What we realized then was that there are 2 additional holes near the front of the material closest to the center pole that allows you to stake it at the front in order to prevent it from rotating; That was a game-changer…the Sunbello provided great shade that did not move in the wind once we staked it. Best part, it sets up soooo fast. I saw a couple working to put up another type of sunshade. About 3mins into watching them bumble to set up their sunshade and fill bags with sand, my husband came back from the room with our Sunbello. I took it out of the bag, set it up and was back in my beach chair sipping my wine before the couple finished setting up their shade. Another day during this same vacation, an older gentleman walked over to us and asked about the Sunbello because he was impressed at how sleek it looked and how easy it looked to set up as compared to his umbrella which required filing a sand bag. We love this sunshade as you can tell. The overall quality, the light weight of it, the height that allowed for us to stand underneath and the ease of getting it back in the bag are only a few of the reasons we love the Sunbello so much. Why did you pick this product vs others?: We are very experienced beach-goers, and have tried a ll kinds of shades over the years. My husband broke his arm this summer and I knew I needed something easy — after doing a little research, this seemed like a great option. Immediately I was impressed with the quality. Everything from the bag, to the fabric to the components are really well made. Everything fits in the bag without a struggle. The best part, though, is the set up. I am not exaggerating when I say it takes less than 2 minutes to set up, and only needs one person. The design is brilliant — it pivots with the wind, works in low wind conditions, stays put even as the tide comes in. It’s also way quieter than you’d expect. Taking it down is also a snap. It would be a great option for a single person/parent, small family or older couple. It’s effortless and very lightweight. Not having to predict the wind direction, fill up sand bags and deal with lines is a huge upgrade. Lots of people on the beach were admiring our set up after struggling with 10x10s, umbrellas flipping inside out or complicated set ups. We love this sun shade. You can set it up in less than two minutes making it essentially effortless. It’s lightweight, yet sturdy. My husband and I fit under it easily and that includes our dog. We own several beach tents and beach umbrellas, but this is our absolute favorite based upon easy set up, and the quality is superior. It’s ideal for 3 people or less in our opinion and provides good shade. We use our tent for larger numbers over 3. I hope this helps you. I might add, we are considering buying a second one for when we have more people at the beach as opposed to setting up the tent.

This sunshade was miraculously simple to set up!! It took us about 45 seconds to get it up thé first time and 30 seconds thereafter! Super lightweight! So effective and perfect for two people and a wagon with a cooler.

This was the best purchase ever for our beach trip last week. Plenty of shade for two people and a beach cart! Was so easy to put up and take down by myself in 5 minutes. When the wind got really strong ours was the last one still standing on the beach and wasn't bending or having any resistance to pull it loose from the sand! The tie downs were also very easy to use and stayed down in the sand when it got really windy as well. Highly recommend this beach shade!

The media could not be loaded. We bought the shade September of last year. This is true review. I was not paid to say anything, but I figured after using it a few times now it was time to review it. We just had this on the beach Hatteras in North Carolina and it was a very windy day. You can see by the video a consistent wind of 25 to 30 mph with Gust quite a bit above that, And we had absolutely no issues. If you look at the picture I created a cotter pin to put through where they had that little knob of plastic, which for me, mine broke off the very first time we put it up. I just drilled a hole through that exact spot Rigged up a line holding the pin and now when I set up, I just pushed it through. And to me it made it so much more stable and I would highly recommend they create a better pin system to hold the top portion on during very windy days. I highly recommend during set up. You just take the auger part out of the bag first Clear the loose sand, and then screw it down in and I would go as far as you can like past the little red line that they show, before putting the top portion on, I just felt like it made the the base way more stable, and as you can see from my video, it worked perfectly. This is mainly for two people. It will not shade a huge area, but for my wife and it works perfectly and the set up takes literally about two minutes, mostly just auguring the base down into the sand as far as possible to taking it down. It’s easy. It works better with two people on a very windy day like that day where one can hold the end while the other kind of pulls out the Bar and starts to wind it up that way it’s not flapping and pulling out of your hands just my suggestion. We love it and we will keep using it. If anything changes I will update my review. The unit is also very light. I mean I would guess maybe 2 pounds or so and it’s got a shoulder strap, but it is quite easy to carry around.
