  • so far so good
so far so good. After opening our pool this season, we had filter issues. Once our water was pretty clear, I put the ionizer in because with filter issues I wanted to try to inhibit as much algae growth as possible until our new filter was installed. With this and my chlorine floater, we got zero new algae growth. coincidence? maybe. but I definitely think this helped. And the light looks nice at night. The price was great also. ... show more

  • Works well
The product works well—my pool stays clean even in the Florida heat. My only minor gripe is the light: it’s pretty dim, so you barely notice it unless you’re really paying attention.

  • Great Pool Ionizer!!!
Works great and I highly recommended this pool Ionizer. I haven't used a quarter of the chlorine I used to use sense purchasing the Ionizer. Pool is clear as a bell.

  • Useful helper for pool maintenance, but not a miracle fix
I’ve been using this solar pool ionizer for a bit, and it’s one of those tools that fits best as a helper—not a replacement for your normal pool routine. Setup is about as easy as it gets. You drop it in the water and let the sun do the rest. No wiring, no hoses, no interaction with your pump system. It just floats and runs. The build feels solid, with enough weight to stay stable, and the included brush and test strips are actually useful rather than throwaway extras. On performance, it does seem to help keep the water clearer over time. I noticed a gradual improvement rather than an overnight change. Copper levels rise slowly, which is what you want—you don’t want to overshoot and risk staining. It’s not going to sanitize your pool on its own, though. You still need chlorine. What it can do is reduce how hard your chemicals have to work, which may lower usage over time. The “float and forget” idea is mostly accurate, but there is some light maintenance. You’ll need to clean the copper electrode periodically, and it’s smart to monitor copper levels so they stay in a safe range. That’s just part of using any ionizer, not a flaw with this one specifically. The LED light is more of a bonus than a core feature. It adds a nice glow at night and gives the pool a bit of atmosphere, but it’s not especially bright or customizable. Still, for something that charges itself during the day, it’s a nice extra. A couple limitations worth noting: it only comes with one anode, which is the main wear item and will need replacing eventually. Also, performance depends heavily on sunlight—cloudy stretches will reduce output. Bottom line: this is a simple, low-effort way to support water clarity and potentially cut back on chemical use, but it’s not a standalone solution. If you go in with realistic expectations, it’s a worthwhile addition and a good value. ... show more

  • So far so good
Been running this in my pool for a few weeks now and here's where I'm at: it genuinely does reduce chlorine use. I'm going through noticeably less than before. Not sure exactly how much, maybe half to a quarter of what I used to add? Water clarity has improved gradually, not like a dramatic overnight thing, but over several days you can tell the difference. Easiest setup possible. Unbox, drop in pool, done. Neat LED color feature, too. Slight visuals at night. Reduces chlorine consumption and really cleans up the pool. Will update this review as the summer goes on with more details! ... show more

  • Wonderful product for pool owners!
We have a 30,000 gallon saltwater pool. We are in the South, so even though the pool is technically closed, it stays uncovered. In the Winter months, we use chlorine tablets to keep the water clean. The sunny and warm days, even in the cooler winter months, can cause algae to grow very quickly. This Ionizer has made our Winter month maintenance easier. Great value and savings in chemicals. The larger solar panel keeps things running, even on cloudy days. Love the look and glow of the LED lights. Overall, this Ionizer is an effective cost and time saving option. 5 stars. ... show more

  • A difference maker for a pool.
A pool ionizer can make a huge difference in pool maintenance. The concept is simple by using copper bars to release copper ions into the water, the water clarity and balance will be achieved. I used a large electric ionizer for years on a 30’ round pool and it was awesome. When I discovered this solar powered ionizer I was thrilled. To use this solar unit you do not need electricity or anything extra to install it. Simply place it in the pool, let it float, and let the solar panel do the work. The results are great! The use of this will not completely eliminate chemical use but will significantly decrease their use. The LED light is a nice feature for the appearance. The unit itself looks fine floating on the pool. The price is well worth it. I highly recommend this solar unit. ... show more
