Loving this litter box. I had a rake style self cleaning box before and this is such a huge upgrade. The rake always left little piece behind that would fall through and I had to do total litter changes often. The litter tray is clean and new every time after this one. I also had to set my old ine on a timer to not go off at night because it was so loud. This one, while it has the ability to set a schedule in the app, I don't even need it, it's so quiet. Been in use a week now and I just changed the bag today out of habit, but it was only a little over half full with 2 cats. It is nice to know there is the space for it to go longer if ever needed. The only con I have so far is the bag replacement is a little awkward at first but easy to get the hang of. Wish the app would track different cats but I can tell which one has used it when based on the weight. So worth the money and I would never spend almost a grand on one when this one works so well and has a lifetime warranty.

April 28, 2025 I received a call from a very nice and professional gentleman with the Pet Cove Company. He offered to send a newer unit or the different automatic type unit litter box at no cost to me. I was not interested in getting another automatic litter box either style. He is sending me the manual iron paws litter box since I’m choosing to go that way I’m sorry to say I was reluctant to give either of the automatic units a try. Although the other automatic unit (light model) offered sounded like it would work quite well and I would have taken that one, but I am through with automatic ones Petcove customer service goes over and above, trying to make it right! I would recommend this company! ———— Still only one star for this unit Original Review about Purtek litter box I ended up throwing it in the trash after using it for several months. I discovered yellow streaks on the outside of the cylinder and discovered that my cats urine leaked outside of that cylinder in the gray stand it’s connected to. Sometimes the door to the litter bag did not close completely so the odor was bad and I had to push it down manually. I cleaned the unit regularly and completely two times. Initially, the litter was coming out of the grated area when the cylinder rotated to empty the waste into the litter bag. I ended up using duck tape on the crack on top of the screen so the litter did not come out as much. I also ran the cycle manually twice a day and did not use auto! Otherwise it took to much litter. I changed the bag every six days or less. Customer service was great and I can’t say enough good thing about the lady who assisted me with questions I initially had. I’m very sorry I could not give this a good rating!

I've had this automatic litter box for about 7 months. The lifetime warranty was one of the primary reasons I decided I would purchase this one. The affordable price (compared to some other top of the line brands) was the second reason. One of my cats was diagnosed with diabetes and had much increased urination, and that's why I decided to add another box to the house (and give the pet cove a try). This is my first automatic box. Without getting in crazy detail, I worked as a professional pet sitter for 15+ years and had heard about some problems with the litter robot brand. Particularly the waste box would fill and block itself causing you to have to shift things or empty it earlier than you should have to. There are three cats and two litter boxes in my house at the moment (because I have an extremely small house). I have this and one regular box. This box works the way that it should, and I appreciate that it does what's expected and gives my cats a clean place to go potty for about a week before I have to do a good cleaning. It has controls for emptying, deodorizing, cleaning, and other things like litter levels. It will automatically stop if your cat steps in it while its running, and it will tell you the amount of waste your cat produced weight-wise. As long as your cats are not suffering with diarrhea, it will keep a fairly clean environment inside, but it does need a good wipe down (or washing) at least once a week for us cleanly people, lol. It advises against harsh cleaners, so I have found success with using baby wipes for wiping down all the walls inside. Personally, when I finish with that, I will gently spray the inside with some aerosol lysol to kill germs. If one of your cats tummy is upset and they have diarrhea, or if you wait more than a week to wipe it out, it will be much more gross experience, lol. A weekly check/maintenance is advised (or more for diarrhea). A traditional litter box will do much better for cats experiencing that problem. But, if no one has diarrhea, and I wipe it down and empty it weekly, that seems to work pretty well for me. I do wish that washing out the inside (or diassembling) was a little bit easier. The primary reason that it's a little more difficult is because there's not a good outlet to dump the water out after you clean it. Water enters and dumps out best from the front hole (where they go in), but I wish that the plastic pieces on the back side actually came completely off - so that you could run water into the front (or back) and have the dirty water run out the other side. Instead, you need run water into the front, wash, and then swirl it around and dump it back out the front too. If you regularly wipe it out like I mentioned though, water washings will be necessary MUCH less often. Weekly wipes and emptying, with as needed litter additions, is the lowest maintenance cleanly method I have found so far. While I would say doing a thorough cleaning at the end of the week takes me just as long as a traditional box, I still think it's worth the money because it gives my cats clean environment to use all the time. And I have the security of knowing that it's protected by a lifetime warranty in case something goes wrong. I feel that is significant for any purchase that is hundreds of dollars. 😁 I would buy it again!
