When my kittens were growing up, all they did was eat and poop. Like, non-stop. I didn’t remember cats being this stinky or so much work. This litter box has made my life so much better. It works, it’s not that complicated, it probably does save money in litter. The litter stays clean and the area doesn’t smell bad. It’s a bit louder than I expected but that is a small price to pay. *Rarely* it jams while it’s cleaning after a cat potties. It’s not a big deal and easy to fix and prevent (mostly you just have to make sure the waste doesn’t pile up in one spot). I am so grateful and happy I got this litter box 8 months ago. Zero regrets!!

I have been using the Pet Pivot since Christmas 2025 (I bought it for myself). At the time, my cat was very ill with thyroid issues. I was scooping out his box several times a day and going through a lot of litter. As many people know, a cat will go elsewhere to potty if the box isn’t up to standards. I decided that I am not a machine and bought one. He knew instantly to go to the box and quickly figured out how to use it. Here is our review... Cap’n Kitty * The box is always clean and easy to get into, even for a larger, big-boned cat. * I have no trouble entering or exiting the box with my one eye. * I am a complete menace—and yes, my thyroid is under control now. I’m old. Sue me. * This is what she signed up for. Mom Cons: * The blue shield that comes with the robot doesn’t attach well during a full cleanout, resulting in several attempts and some mess. * If your catman has loose stools, you will frequently be wiping down the unit and cleaning the liner beneath the cat litter—not the liner in the drawer underneath. * You will know when the collection drawer is full because you’ll start seeing streaks on the outside of the unit before it stops and alerts you to empty the drawer. * There will be jumpers. You will find them when you refresh the box by emptying the bag, wiping down the surfaces, and sweeping or mopping around the base. Do not place this unit directly in front of a wall; keep it several inches away. Just trust me, bro. * The bags do not fit properly and are a pain to install. Pros: * The unit is very easy to deep-clean and refresh. * Deep cleaning is required far less often than it would be with a standard cat box. * When using a good clumping litter, you will smell nothing because the offending issue is first wrapped in litter before being tossed into the collection bin underneath. * The unit is very sensitive to weight and even cleans itself after I add fresh litter to the existing layer. The mancat is very safe while using it. * I did not think this contraption was going to work at all—but hey, I didn’t really think computers were going to be a thing either, and here we are. It does work, and it works very well! * I no longer need a second cat box because this one is always clean when properly maintained. Deep cleaning takes about 10 minutes to wash all the parts. A quick wipe-down and bag change take less than three minutes, perhaps twice per week, depending on the volume the mancat produces in his factory. Recommendations: * Should you decide to purchase this product, please go ahead and get the extra liner. It will make deep cleaning much easier. While one liner is being washed, the other is available for a quick cat-box restoration. * Get some Command strip clips so you can attach the blue shield to the back when it is not in use. This will help prevent the jumpers. * Someone, please invent a silicone bag for the used-litter tray that fits properly and allows the top of the tray to close securely. Why I Gave This Gadget a Five-Star Review: When I purchased this robot, my cat was very sick and used the box constantly. I was using multicat litter, and it still wasn’t enough. After stabilizing my cat’s health, I have found this to be an absolute must-have for anyone who doesn’t enjoy cleaning the cat box. It also provides a much healthier environment for the cat to use. Could the product use some improvements? Yes—specifically, the bag issue and the clip issue with the blue cleanout shield. Overall, however, I love this product.

October 2024 I trapped 2 feral kittens from a litter I found in our donkey pasture, the cat had them under the water trough. We haven't had a cat in the house for 15 years due to the odor of a litter box. We can't have kittens outside for various reasons, so I decided to look into an automatic cleaning litter box. The best known brand -- sorry, I'm not paying $600-7009 for a litter box that may or may not work out. Saw this litter box during some type of pre-Christmas deal for a price I was willing to lose if all went badly. Well, it didn't go badly at all. The kittens, who were about 8-9 weeks at the time took to the litter box immediately. The photo shows them checking it out initially. One jumped in within a minute or two and christened the machine. A couple of minutes later, the box did it's routine and dumped the new clump into the disposal bin. Okay!! We never smelled a thing! Fast forward 6 months. We have house cats and there is not a single person who has entered out home that can smell that we have cats. Absolute best money I've ever spent on a pet product. As a matter of fact, we recently bought our second unit for the garage, because the cats use that area when outside with me working in the yard. Of course, I had to change the collection bags less frequently when the kittens were young -- about every 5 days. Now that they are 9 months or so old, I change the bags every 3 days, whether they need it or not. It takes me less than 2 minutes to do a complete change-out. Due to the design, you never have to see or handle dirty litter. I use a scented litter, so there is not even any offensive odor while changing the bags, I might get a small wiff of lavender. Second best thing?? IT SAVES SO MUCH MONEY ON CAT LITTER!!! I was using two or three 35 lb. buckets of litter a month using a conventional litter pan, trying to keep it clean and relatively smell-free. Using 2 of these automatic litter pans, I now only buy 1 bucket of litter a month to service both. It takes approximately 2 cups of litter to top the litter box off from the minimum to the max. I top the boxes off almost daily. THIS LITTER BOX PAYS FOR ITSELF quickly (for me it was 3 months). The only drawback, and I'm not even gonna take off a star due to it, is that the cats tend to throw a good bit of litter out of the box, way more than the included litter mat will catch because it's small. My kittens didn't particularly care for the harder foam of the mat, so I ditched it in favor of a 3'x5' chenille rug that catches the litter headed for the floor and its easy to roll it up and shake the litter back into the pan. If your cats don't mind the texture of the mat, they make larger ones that you can purchase here on Amazon. Just put it in your cart and check out, you'll be thrilled that you did and enjoy your kitties even more. UPDATE 10/2025 Recently purchased our THIRD unit because I trapped 5 more kittens in July (and my husband is attached to each one), and they are ready to graduate from the shed into the house. Seven indoor cats has to be insane, but here we go. The feral momma cat has been trapped, spayed and released, she never got interested in being tamed. After owning the first automatic litter pan for a year, I’m still the world’s biggest fan! I still use Tidy Cats scented litter and we smell nothing around the litter pan or in the house in general. With 3 automatic litter boxes, I’ll now order 2 buckets of litter per month, but will have half a bucket left to spare. Our original 2 kittens are now grown and are fairly large at 14 lbs each. They still use the litter pan comfortably. Every 3 months or so I break the entire unit down for thorough cleaning, including the snap-in litter mat. I use an enzyme cleaner on the parts and they don’t hold any bad odors. It only takes 30 minutes or so. Open the gear covers every so often and remove any litter that may have gotten in there. Will continue to update as needed.

I've had this for about 4 months with one really big cat 16lbs and I'm really happy with it, especially for the competitive pricing. What works great: • No more scooping - it does its thing automatically • Safety features - waits for the cat to exit, closes when full • Smell control - SO much better than manual boxes, this alone makes it worth it • Price - very competitive compared to other automatic options Why I am giving 4 stars: • Gets messy - dirty litter ends up all over the top and floor around the box • Big cat issue - this might be specific to having a really large cat, regular-sized cats might not have this problem Bottom line: Despite the mess issue I need to figure out, I'll never go back to manual scooping. The convenience and odor control are game-changers. For the price point, it delivers on the main promises even if it's not perfect. Good for: Cat owners wanting to eliminate scooping and improve smell, just be prepared to clean around the unit regularly, especially with larger cats.

I have been looking for an automatic litter box for quite some time that didn’t break the bank. I have a larger 18 pound cat that uses it faithfully. Sometimes she would throw the litter onto the sensors, which would make it not run. We had to turn it so that she would go in a different direction and that seemed to work. The litter does seem to pile up on one end, but we just shake it down every few days. I’ve been able to use several different kinds of litter and It doesn’t seem to have a problem. The inner liner seems kinda pricey to replace. Thankfulness you don’t have to do that very often. Been using it for a few months now. Just changed out the litter and fully cleaned it for the first time this week. Otherwise I have just been adding litter as needed. Easy to take apart and clean. So far it has worked as it should and seems like a quality product. Cons: it’s an open top do my cat seems to throw the litter out onto the floor. I knew that was going to happen because she does that with the other litter boxes. When she throws it on the sensor then it won’t empty. I have mine in the closet so we turned it sideways and it’s not happening anymore. This is the only one I have used so I don’t know if the expensive ones are better. Wanted to make sure my cats would use it since I have 3. Well worth the price of $150

I’ve had a really good experience with the PetPivot self-cleaning litter box so far. It took my cat a little time to get used to it, but once he did, it made daily cleanup so much easier. The open-top design seems more comfortable and less intimidating than fully enclosed automatic boxes, especially for cats that are used to a regular litter pan. One of the best things about it is how quiet it is. When it runs, it’s not loud or annoying, which is great for both cats and people. It also does a nice job controlling smell. The waste bin holds a lot, so I don’t have to deal with it constantly, and that has been a huge help. I also like that it doesn’t need Wi-Fi or an app. You just plug it in and use it. Setup is simple, and when it’s time to clean the unit itself, it comes apart without a lot of struggle. That alone makes it feel more practical than some of the more expensive options. The safety features are another big plus. It stops when a cat gets near it, which gave me peace of mind. It feels thoughtfully made for homes with one or more cats. My main complaint is litter tracking and scattering. Because of the lower front entrance, my cat kicks litter out, and the included mat does not catch as much as you’d hope. Putting it near a wall can help, but it’s still something to keep in mind. Overall, I think this is a great buy, especially for the price. It’s quiet, easy to use, keeps odors down, and saves a lot of time. Not perfect, but definitely a product I’d recommend.

This is a great litter box. Of all the automated litter boxes I've tried, this one is awesome! There are hardly any skid marks on its surfaces after depositing the feline mess, so to speak. It stays nice and clean and that bottom large capacity bin is the cats meeeow! It holds a mountain of... Well... stinky business and keeps the smell contained within it. I was truly surprised on how clean this box stays and how well it contains ororanwithout any special additions. You might be wondering why I gave it only 3 stars.. well here's why. The description says it's good for cats up to 22 pounds. Well that is true if you need it to hold a mountain of feline business in the litter bin. In practicality this is not true. We have 2 17 pound cats and a smaller 10 pound cat. The smaller cats fits in the box beautifully and can take care of everything from Inside the box. The 2 larger cats can get in the box, barely, but cannot cover their litter. They jump out and cover their litter from outside the box. When they do this, they kick litter out all over the floor and more frequently than not they toss, other stinker items out of the box as well. There seems more litter on the floor outside the box when the larger cats use it. The smaller cat, no mess at all, great box. If you have a cat, I would say 12 pounds or less, this is a great choice for a hassle free litter box. Anything larger and.. well you'll be cleaning the floor and adding litter much more frequently than with some of the other automatic litter boxes. I really wish they would make this box for Plus sized cats, I would buy 3 of them. Hands down it handle small cat business with ease!

With three indoor cats I reached the point of being totally over and done with litter boxes, even when I found a system that worked pretty well. Enter the age of automated cat litter boxes! I actually started using two, one was a big, expensive remote operated brand with an app for your phone, and this one. This one is decent, and I had no problem setting it up and being able to understand running it. The cats did use this in one room, but my older granny cat wasn’t having it and started to leave her stinkies on the floor where the old litter boxes use to be. Because she’s my age in cat years, I gave her a break, and put a box back for her. She’s an old fashioned gal who isn’t into modern technology. This model does fairly well, but I would not call it extra or deluxe. Its design works as the more expensive brands, but you do get what you pay for. The “ bowl” area is smaller, which makes the cat more cramped. Not awful, but this tends to make the cats poo above the litter line, which means the poo basically cements itself to side areas and won’t manage to clean and dump, I’ve had to use a litter scoop many times to scrape it enough to get in line for the drop off. I can’t really compare it to the big monster I got off vine last year, a behemoth of a litter box. Lots of bells and whistles, some which I haven’t even looked into using. Bigger litter bowl, more stability, quiet. But I will say for the most part these newfangled automatic litter boxes are worth looking into if you are fed up and done with the old way of doing the litter scoop everyday. I find with both models I have I use much less litter, change much less often because the waste is dumped into a pan within the unit, so there isn’t nearly the smell you get when kitty wants to go. With the exception of my granny cat, the other two took to the new design right away, didn’t resist, and really were intrigued with how the big bowl manages to move all on its own. Most of these things have sensors that stop the motion if a cat wants to investigate; that’s very important, they will be curious and you need to make sure there is a safety feature built in that allows for interruption of the process if the cat thinks he needs a better view up close to figure out what’s going on with this magic toilet bowl
