  • Magic Litter Box Magic Litter Box
My cats think this is a magic poop box. Sometimes it confuses them or scares them so we had to set it to work manually instead of automatically but it works so well! We haven’t had any issues with it so far and it was easy to set up and figure out. Emptying it is also very easy. We haven’t five cats and with a regular cat box, you could smell it even after changing the littler but with this one you can’t. It’s kind of big, takes up more space than a regular box, but it’s not so large that we couldn’t find a place for them. My big boy fits in it and it appears to be stable and sturdy. Sometimes they kick up the litter and it doesn’t seem to move when they do. The litter mat is also better than most litter mats I’ve tried in the past. It traps it in but I can shake it all out so it’s easy to clean. Highly recommend. We have 2 currently (our cats go outside sometimes as well) but we are planning to get a third one and we will be sticking with this model. ... show more

  • Works well, and very quiet!
Update... We have had this about 8 months now, and am still very impressed. I (and the cats) seem to prefer this to the much more expensive Litter Robot. Zero issues so far. We have a total of 7 cats, and this and a couple LRs, I probably dump this one every 5 days or so. It's operated perfectly, no funky flashing lights or pinch sensor issues to deal with! The "safety" works perfectly to stop cycling if a cat gets in while it's running. Took a bit to get proficient in installing the bags, but it's not much of an issue. No smell issues-the nasty part is sealed from the room. Yes, it smells when you change the bag-pretty hard to prevent that. I give the bag container a little shot of Lysol once in a while to keep it fresh, not often. It doesn't need frequent cleaning, but when you do it's much easier than the LR, flip the two levers on the sides and the rotating "drum" lifts right out. It's not badly heavy, and easy to take outside and wash with the hose. As I said in the original review, it's much quieter than the LR-I have it in my master bedroom and can sleep through it, and I'm a pretty light sleeper. The overall size is much smaller than the LR, but the actual litter area is larger, the cats seem to prefer it. And it holds more litter so is less sensitive to fill level. Also the open top design makes it much handier to fill, especially if you do so from a large box. Strongly recommend, especially for the price. It looks like other companies are now selling the same product with their brand on it (some with different colored plastic parts)-so if you prefer a different color don't be afraid to look around. ***** We've had this for about 3 weeks now and I'm quite impressed. We have had a Litter Robot 3 for several years. The cats seem to prefer the Petpivot, it is getting more use than our LR. It is MUCH quieter. And the open top design makes it easier to clean. No issues with odors (granted it's new, will be interesting to see how it smells after a few more months). So far no "quirks" like stopping mid-cycle or anything, it's been flawless. The litter area is also larger than in the LR. I question how long it will last and what support will be like from the manufacturer-LR is great in that regard. But for well under half the price, I'm happy. Would be nice to adjust the time before it dumps, could let the litter absorb a little longer. And would be nice to dump litter to empty without using the clear plastic shield that comes with it. But these are minor issues. ... show more

  • It’s all right, more affordable with fewer bells and whistles but does the job
With three indoor cats I reached the point of being totally over and done with litter boxes, even when I found a system that worked pretty well. Enter the age of automated cat litter boxes! I actually started using two, one was a big, expensive remote operated brand with an app for your phone, and this one. This one is decent, and I had no problem setting it up and being able to understand running it. The cats did use this in one room, but my older granny cat wasn’t having it and started to leave her stinkies on the floor where the old litter boxes use to be. Because she’s my age in cat years, I gave her a break, and put a box back for her. She’s an old fashioned gal who isn’t into modern technology. This model does fairly well, but I would not call it extra or deluxe. Its design works as the more expensive brands, but you do get what you pay for. The “ bowl” area is smaller, which makes the cat more cramped. Not awful, but this tends to make the cats poo above the litter line, which means the poo basically cements itself to side areas and won’t manage to clean and dump, I’ve had to use a litter scoop many times to scrape it enough to get in line for the drop off. I can’t really compare it to the big monster I got off vine last year, a behemoth of a litter box. Lots of bells and whistles, some which I haven’t even looked into using. Bigger litter bowl, more stability, quiet. But I will say for the most part these newfangled automatic litter boxes are worth looking into if you are fed up and done with the old way of doing the litter scoop everyday. I find with both models I have I use much less litter, change much less often because the waste is dumped into a pan within the unit, so there isn’t nearly the smell you get when kitty wants to go. With the exception of my granny cat, the other two took to the new design right away, didn’t resist, and really were intrigued with how the big bowl manages to move all on its own. Most of these things have sensors that stop the motion if a cat wants to investigate; that’s very important, they will be curious and you need to make sure there is a safety feature built in that allows for interruption of the process if the cat thinks he needs a better view up close to figure out what’s going on with this magic toilet bowl ... show more

  • Responsive customer service
Update (April 2025): I've had the Pet Pivot since November 2024. It worked great initially but around February 2025 I started to notice that the urine clumps would remain stuck to the litter bed and not fall into the waste bin during the cleaning cycle. I think it's because my cat pees in the same spot every time. I contacted Petpivot and showed them a picture of the problem, and they sent me a replacement litter bed right away --- I am using this Petpivot with our new 3 month old kitten. Because the cat is so little, we set the litter box to manual activation. I like that you can set the litterbox to clean manually, and I also appreciate the child safety lock to prevent kids or the cat from accidentally activating the litter box. It was very easy to set up. It looks easy to clean. The build quality is okay. The bottom of the base is sealed off with carboard though. I'm not sure why they used carboard and not something more durable - perhaps it's so they can tell if customers break the machine by getting the base wet? At first, I wasn't sure the litter box was safe because I was concerned that a cat could go inside the litter box during its cleaning cycle and get pinched while the box returned to position. But I realized it has sensors over the waste bin and on the inside back of the base that activate WHEN the litter box is returning to neutral position. That way, if a cat somehow is stuck in the waste bin, the unit will stop moving. As for odor, I currently take out the litter once a week. I have noticed a urine smell, but I think it's due to the open box nature of this unit. My litter box is in the bathroom, so I just run the vent for 20 minutes and the smell is gone. The Petpivot doesn't have anything in particular to block the smell that comes out from the waste bin other than the litter box that is over it. Perhaps some adhesive wood pile weatherstripping along the edge of the waste bin would help keep any odors contained (inspiration credit to Youtuber One Man and Five Cats). This is a good purchase if you want a less expensive, basic automatic litter box. It won't monitor a pet's weight or allow you to modify the timing of the cleaning cycle like more expensive litter boxes, but I'm more than happy with my purchase. ... show more

  • Quiet, Easy, and Way Less Hassle Than Scooping Quiet, Easy, and Way Less Hassle Than Scooping
I’ve had a really good experience with the PetPivot self-cleaning litter box so far. It took my cat a little time to get used to it, but once he did, it made daily cleanup so much easier. The open-top design seems more comfortable and less intimidating than fully enclosed automatic boxes, especially for cats that are used to a regular litter pan. One of the best things about it is how quiet it is. When it runs, it’s not loud or annoying, which is great for both cats and people. It also does a nice job controlling smell. The waste bin holds a lot, so I don’t have to deal with it constantly, and that has been a huge help. I also like that it doesn’t need Wi-Fi or an app. You just plug it in and use it. Setup is simple, and when it’s time to clean the unit itself, it comes apart without a lot of struggle. That alone makes it feel more practical than some of the more expensive options. The safety features are another big plus. It stops when a cat gets near it, which gave me peace of mind. It feels thoughtfully made for homes with one or more cats. My main complaint is litter tracking and scattering. Because of the lower front entrance, my cat kicks litter out, and the included mat does not catch as much as you’d hope. Putting it near a wall can help, but it’s still something to keep in mind. Overall, I think this is a great buy, especially for the price. It’s quiet, easy to use, keeps odors down, and saves a lot of time. Not perfect, but definitely a product I’d recommend. ... show more

  • No smell
Look, this litter box works. You don’t smell the litter, ammonia, poo, and even the blind cat uses it. I love it so much I’m buying a second one.

  • Awesome litter box, for smaller cats.
This is a great litter box. Of all the automated litter boxes I've tried, this one is awesome! There are hardly any skid marks on its surfaces after depositing the feline mess, so to speak. It stays nice and clean and that bottom large capacity bin is the cats meeeow! It holds a mountain of... Well... stinky business and keeps the smell contained within it. I was truly surprised on how clean this box stays and how well it contains ororanwithout any special additions. You might be wondering why I gave it only 3 stars.. well here's why. The description says it's good for cats up to 22 pounds. Well that is true if you need it to hold a mountain of feline business in the litter bin. In practicality this is not true. We have 2 17 pound cats and a smaller 10 pound cat. The smaller cats fits in the box beautifully and can take care of everything from Inside the box. The 2 larger cats can get in the box, barely, but cannot cover their litter. They jump out and cover their litter from outside the box. When they do this, they kick litter out all over the floor and more frequently than not they toss, other stinker items out of the box as well. There seems more litter on the floor outside the box when the larger cats use it. The smaller cat, no mess at all, great box. If you have a cat, I would say 12 pounds or less, this is a great choice for a hassle free litter box. Anything larger and.. well you'll be cleaning the floor and adding litter much more frequently than with some of the other automatic litter boxes. I really wish they would make this box for Plus sized cats, I would buy 3 of them. Hands down it handle small cat business with ease! ... show more

  • No customers service line No customers service line
Update** I finally received an email to let me know there were sending a replacement unit and it came in about a week later. I had purchased another unit as well. So now I have two for two cats and two kittens. So far they are both working. The replacement unit feels a little looser. Now for the good; I do like the facts that all my cats use it and it helps me from scooping litter all day every day. With fours cats I had 5 trays and it can get expensive in litter. These help me cut down on litter cost by more than half! This review is mostly about customer service and not so much about the functionality. They don’t have a customer service phone line!! For this reason alone I feel like I need to subtract one star. I find it extremely frustrating when companies don’t provide a customer service phone for you to call when there’s an issue and you have to result to trouble shoot through email which takes hours due to time zone differences when it could easily be resolved in a 15 minute phone call. I’ve had my pet pivot for less than three months. It was recommended to me by a friend with three cats. I was a little skeptical at first. I find the cloth liner can hold onto smells that’s -1 star since I was using metal trays which are extremely odor resistant... So far, I’ve only cleaned it thoroughly once and it doesn’t smell too bad but the clumps can leave marks on the liner. I had to find the right litter because my old litter kept leaving streaks on the top of the litter and making a mess. I switched to Dr. Elsie’s perfect litter and it has made a huge difference. Yesterday, my pet pivot started to turn over as if to empty the tank and it won’t turn back over. The on/off, as well as the other two buttons are not responding, that’s -1 star. We tried cleaning the sensors, obviously unplugged and plugged it back in, emptying the tank and vacuuming any crevices where litter and dust can accumulate . I’ve been back-and-forth with “Customer Service “ on how to resolve this issue. We have exchanged 7 messages back and forth, in a span of over 12hrs, where I’ve been asked to provide the same information multiple times since I am receiving their response through my email and they are receiving mine over a chat. When I have submitted pictures through my email, they don’t go to their chat. My cats had no issues adapting to this little box. Set up was quick and easy. They are both young 1 and 2 years old. I did have to put a stool in front of it as it sits kind of high. I feel like an older cat would definitely have a hard time without some steps to get in and out. My cats are average size 10-14lbs and I feel like if they were any bigger they wouldn’t be comfortable going into this box. When it’s working it is great to not have to worry about scooping litter every day and having multiple litter boxes, so it actually saves money on litter. You can hear it in the other room but it’s not loud, you just hear a hum of the motor which it’s not a big deal at all. I have two more kittens and have ordered another litter box for when they are heavy enough to go into one of these. This is all I’m gonna say for now. It is November 21/2025. I will update on how long Customer Service took to resolve my issue and what they decided to do, as soon as we get this issue resolved ... show more
