    • Great price, warranty and usable speed.
I have placed on of these drives in a NAS as a single source for storage to run it through its paces. This is designed for NAS and while I cannot say how it performs in a RAID scenario, it was able to do as hopefully expected with reads and writes and play nice with the NAS OS. Having to compare to a 5 bay older NAS with 4 tb drives, the single drive in the NAS does appear to be a bit noisy. The three facets are - NAS case design, the drive itself and not being engage in a RAID. I know that larger drives can be a bit noisy and I'll make adjustments externally to neutralize some of the noise and more so, when populated with other same drives for RAID. I got this drive at a good price from* Amazon itself and will soon check with Seagate on their warranty. Last- yes, assuming no issues in the near future, I would buy again... 2-3 more of these. ... show more

I bought this for use in a home media server and it works great! I use this with a Plex Media Server to stream my personal movie and TV collections and it preforms this task exceptionally well! Would recommend!

    • Backup All Drives!!! Having Issue After 1 Year. Great Customer Service
So after a year, I started to hear 3 clicks and a lower tone that I knew was the hard drive since everything else in my PC is solid state. I got on Seagate's website and their online chat and within 15 mins, had a new drive coming to me. So why 4 stars, the service was great. I know some people have complained about the service they received, but in this case it was wonderful. And as an IT person, we should always know to keep our data in at lease 2 locations. Drives fail, it is a fact of life. Should they after 1 year, no, but anything electronic can fail. Just glad I did not loose any data. ... show more
