Description

When it comes to keeping your electric vehicle charged, the Schumacher SC1455 Level 1/Level 2 EV charger is a smart choice. The unit offers both Level 1 and Level 2 EV charging. For Level 2 charging, connect the SC1455 to a 240V NEMA 6-20P plug. For Level 1 charging, use the included adaptor connected to a standard 120V NEMA 5-15 household outlet. The SC1455 utilizes the standard SAE-J1772™ EV connector, making it compatible with most EVs sold in North America. Tesla™ EVs require an adaptor (sold separately).Designed with the user in mind, the charger features 28 feet of cord, long enough to reach both bays of a two-car garage or from a garage wall plug to the driveway. It also features an ergonomic design that is comfortable to hold. A rubber cover on the charging gun helps to keep out water and dirt for an Ingress Protection rating of IP55. Built-in LED indicators allow you to easily monitor your charging status. Integrated overcurrent and overvoltage protection prevent damage to the charger and connected vehicle, giving you peace of mind while charging. Great charging cable! quality materials and craftsmanship, charges quickly, seems durable. Used with a 2019 Kia Niro PHEV. I bought this charging cable to replace a 3 yo trickle charger from Kia that crapped out on me, possibly due to exposure to rain. I am using this on my Prius Prime 2017. It has the ability to charge in the wall with the included 120v adapter OR you can tap in to a 240v dryer outlet. Depending on your type of outlet you may need an additional adapter but once you have it this plug will allow you to charge the car as fast as it can go. 2 Hours to full charge for the Prius Prime. ... show more

This works on my Kia EV6. I plugged it into a regular 5-15 for level one charging and it works charging at 1.8 KW/H. I also used it with a 14-50P to 6-20R adapter, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081PZCR65?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details, and it works well charging at 3.7 KW/H. I use the 14-50 plug with a 50amp breaker with my ChargePoint Homeflex. My ChargePoint will draw 40amp and charges 2.5 times as fast. This cord will only draw 16amp so it works as designed. I got this charger primarily to keep in the car for road trips. I like the 28 foot length. I figure it will come in handy on the road when I stay with friends and can plug into their outdoor wall socket. I got the 14-50 adapter just in case I stay overnight at an RV or campground where there is a 14-50 plug. Driving on the road, I'm hoping I won't have to use it but I feel much better having it and the different charging options just in case. Another note about this charger is the amperage. The 120 AC outlets in my garage are 20 amp so I have no issues using this charger at my house. On the road when I stay with friends, this may not be the case. I can adjust the AC charge level in my Kia EV6 to minimum and I charge at 1.1 KWH instead of the max of 1.8 KWH. This allows my to plug in at a friends house even if they only have a 15amp outlet. ... show more

Nice long cord and it works well. I will say it is a little tight plugging it in or pulling it out, but that might just mean the connection is a little more watertight. Overall very happy with it.

Bought this charger to speed charging time on a Hyundai Ioniq. Factor charger took 8-12 to reach 29 mile charge (the limit). I plug into a regular house wall outlet. I have had no problems with overheat or blowing a circuit and no issues with the car either. This charge now takes between 3-4hra for a full charge. It's great quality with a much longer cord that what came with the car. I can't live without this charger....it's a game changer for me!! ... show more

My dealership had to give me a free charger valued at $1200 because they sold me an EV with no mention of a charger (I assumed it came with). That charger did not work at all, but this charger works incredible. I use it on Level 1. Stores well, too. Bought this because I knew I needed every inch to reach my car from the socket. Love how you can use this on a 20 amp socket if you have one or come across one on the road. Going to buy a 10-30 adapter to see if I can use a rv camp site hookup. Will update on that. I have to turn down to the lowest setting in my EV6 so not to trip the breaker, or risk fire on my standard outlet. Gives me 3 mph charge which is enough to keep up with my regular daily life. Says it's not weatherproof. I put a Ziploc bag around the regulator thing to keep it dry. ... show more
