This little amplifier is definitely better than other sound amplifiers that I own. A little more expensive, but, you get what you pay for. Two other amplifiers were cheaper, larger and one does not have a volume control dial. This feature is important, as it allows you to adjust the sensitivity and control the volume of sound to the headphones. This has been very helpful for my elderly mother (93 years old) who doesn't want to wear hearing aids. The headphone that comes with the amplifier was not comfortable so I bought a different type that she likes, it hooks around her ear and doesn't go inside the ear. I adjust the sound level before putting it on her and I put the headphones on her as well but once it is on it is very helpful in letting her be part of conversations without us having to talk really loudly or turn the TV up loud, so it is definitely a help. ... show more

Excellent volume and control. Picks up slightest movement or touching of the unit,which may make it unusable for some people to use. I needed to amplify tv while leaving speakers at lower level for my wife. Works good for me. Sound is extremely tinney, even with high quality earbuds, but I don't mind that. ... show more

I bought the Reizen Mighty Loud Ear amplifier for my father and he loves it. It is light weight and convenient to carry, as the attached clip allows him to wear it. The AA batteries have lasted him for a month so far. He places it in an area that he will not be moving it with his arms or hands. He does own the more expensive hearing aids worn behind the ear, but prefers to wear the Reizen Mighty Loud Ear amplifier. It sounds clearer to him than his more expensive hearing aids, that he constantly has to replace the size 13 button batteries. I highly recommend this product. ... show more
