I have used sun sails in the past to protect against sun in our pool. I since moved to a different location that is home to many trees, including pine and holly... those shed like crazy and the leaves and needles get stuck everywhere. I got tired of literally digging out the compressor of my AC every year so I placed this sun sail at a steep angle right over the unit. There is still some debris that makes it into the unit but it's less than 1% of what previously got stuck in there. It is lightweight yet sturdy and flexible enough withstand the wind and forced air from the fan blower.

We bought 2 in May 2021 and enjoyed the shade for 2 years. An unexpected Florida wind storm caused it to rip at seams. Write up says to remove in storms, but it is not always possible. But for 2 years it was a 5 star product, and worth the money.

The profile shows the hardware as if it came with it which is very Misleading! It's like simply putting up a blanket. I would not have purchased if I new it didn't come with the items you need to actually hang it.

Wanted to cover a parking spot. My mounting points weren't exactly a rectangle so I had to run 18' of 1/8" vinyl coated steel cable to attach one corner to a far mounting point. Another corner was in 2' from it's matching side on the other end. When I first mounted it it sagged in the front because of shorter distance between the sides. It has a double sewn seam so I cut a small hole on both ends of the shade seam and ran another 1/8" vinyl coated steel cable though the seam to cinch up the front and now it's level with the other sides (although still sags a little in the center of the shade.) I don't know if it's waterproof as I can see pinhole daylight, but it's providing lots of shade and it seems "industrial" sturdy. Very happy with the outcome and hope to get a couple of years out of it.
