My initial impression of the sound quality improved dramatically when I found the proper ear tips for me. Here are my observations (↑ PROS, ↔ NEUTRAL ↓ CONS): [Note: These “Soundure” branded hearing aids are model number ”JH-D260AT” per the listing and or “JH-D26AT” stamped on the aids and listed in the User Guide, and the front of the product box shows and charging case, and the front of the box shows “AUR D53”.] PROS ↑ These BTE (Behind The Ear) RIC (Receiver In Canal) hearing aids are small even for this style BUT fit well. ↑ When worn they are essentially “invisible” from the front and sides. ↑ The aid to ear tip tubing is a bit short however, not a problem by inserting the ear tip first, then positioning the aid. ↑ Sound quality was very good after I found the best ear tip for me (prior to that it was far from that quality). ↑ There was no feedback (squealing / screeching) at any time. ↑ Despite the smaller body and controls, they were easy to use with good prompts (photo of controls attached). ↑ The 4 different hearing programs (Normal, Restaurant, Outdoor, Music) provide different experiences; a big plus. ↑ “Intelligent Noise Cancellation” had no typical mild static sound but I cannot tell how well it worked. ↑ The charging / storage case is sizable at about 3 1/4" L x 2 1/2" H x 1 5/8”W but easily fits in my pocket. ↑ Battery life (unclear to me): possibly 100 hours total with case recharges; also has quick charge capability. ↑ The battery life / charging status for both hearing aids is clearly displayed on the outside of the case. NEUTRAL ↔ The very good sound quality of these hearing aids is highly dependent on the ear tips used. ↔ As the aid to ear tip tubing is a bit short, putting them on required a learning curve but fit well for me. CONS ↓ While listed as “hearing aid for seniors [with] severe hearing loss”, I would not recommend them for that purpose. In addition to the 2 hearing aids and charging / storage case, included are 6 pairs of ear tips, a USB C charging cord, a small brush, and a (pretty good) User Manual. OVERALL, these hearing aids do a good job in terms of sound quality, ease of use, fit / comfort, and have good battery life; and the 4 hearing programs are a real plus to me. While picking the correct size of ear tip is especially important, and learning to put them on has somewhat of a learning curve, these are worth consideration in this $150 to $200 price range (at the time of this review). [4.4 stars]

This is the 2nd pair of OTC hearing aids that I am testing with my elderly Mother-in-Law. My Mother-in-Law sometimes had a hard time hearing or understanding what people were saying. So, I wanted to test this product to see if it could help her with that problem. Overall, I give this product a 9/10. As I mention in any of the reviews I’ve done for OTC hearing aids, you must read the instructions on how to properly use and adjust these products. It takes a few tries to get these as perfectly tuned as possible but if you take your time and do it right, they perform well. My Mom does not like the fact these sit behind the ear and would prefer it if it were more hidden but, these are small, and she says they are not that bad. These work so much better when you use the correct ear tips. The sound quality seems to be better. Mom says they are comfortable, and she wore them for several hours with no discomfort. Do all of the fine tuning outside of the ear, then, test and refine until you have them adjusted how you want them. The case is nice and displays the charging level on the front. It is easy to read. The battery life is good and lasted longer than our test period of 8 hours. This is a product I recommend for people looking for an OTC hearing aid for the elderly.

PROS: - Discreet Design: These are small enough behind-the-ear units that are essentially invisible from the front and sides when I wear them. - Clear Sound Quality: Once I found the correct ear tips, the sound was very good and significantly helped me follow conversations and hear the TV at lower volumes. - Multiple Hearing Programs: I really appreciate the four different modes—Normal, Restaurant, Outdoor, and Music—which help me adapt to different environments. - No Feedback Issues: I never experienced any of the annoying squealing or screeching common with some other models I have tried. - Excellent Battery Life: The rechargeable case is easy to use, shows the charging status clearly on the outside, and provides enough power to last well over a full day. - Comfortable Fit: I was able to wear them for several hours at a time with no discomfort, and they stayed securely in place during my daily activities. - Simplified Maintenance: I love not having to fiddle with tiny disposable batteries; the USB-C charging is straightforward and fast. CONS: - Not for Severe Loss: Despite the marketing, I would not recommend these for someone with severe hearing loss; they are better suited for mild to moderate needs. - Ear Tip Dependency: The sound quality and comfort are 100% dependent on finding the right ear tip, which required some trial and error on my part. - Initial Learning Curve: The tubing is a bit short, so it took me a few tries to figure out the best way to position the aid behind my ear while inserting the tip. - Fine-Tuning Required: It took some time to get the volume and programs perfectly adjusted, so I had to be patient during the first few days of use. VERDICT: The Soundure Rechargeable Hearing Aids are a practical and high-value option for seniors looking for an easy-to-manage OTC solution. While they aren't powerful enough for severe hearing loss, the multiple environment programs and noise-cancelling features make them a solid choice in this price range.
