The Level 2 EV Charger by QPQ, is a very nice all-around charger that offers the basics with high charge abilities and good materials, but are the missing features something worth getting? Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and a few things to consider before buying. I. Quality – One of the most important things to ensure with something that has this much power going through it, is the quality. This one feels and appears to be very well made out of good quality materials. Its heavy, with thick cables and a solid weather resistant outside. I’d put it in the lower side of the upper tier of the quality scale for EV chargers and guess it should hold up well. II. Performance – This one works very good at its core performance. Meaning it has a high charge rate capability at 40 Amps, its worked consistently, has thick cables to offer efficient operation and it’s longer than many at 25ft, in case you can’t park close. However, it lacks features that some people are going to care about. Mainly, the digital screen to provide useful info like output, charging time, temperature. It also doesn’t have a lot of control over the experience like timers, start times or lockout abilities. These are all useful features that are nice to have for some people and are available with many of their competition. However, if you have a car like a Tesla, you can do all of this through the screen in the car, except for the lock-out and are really unnecessary to have on the actual charger itself. Overall, this is a solid choice that appears to be well made and offers great core performance. It would be a solid choice if you don’t care about the missing features mentioned above and are mainly interested in good quality, with high output and long cables. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it. You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product.     • Excellent charger, may be due for a price adjustment
Functionally I have nothing but good things to say about this charger. Just the weight of the charger alone suggests a high-quality build, and the overall design and aesthetic looks great and suggests the manufacturer didn't skimp on this build. The charging capabilities are spot on with what you'd calculate for a 40A/Level 2 charger. All that aside, for this price point there are some very well rated smart charger options that include wifi connectivity, app monitoring and control, and LED readouts and touchscreen interfaces. So while an excellent charger overall, I feel that this one is priced a little high given its feature set. ... show more

    • Capable of pulling all 40 Amps!
This charger is beefy. If you wanted a fast charge at home, you can definitely get a full charge much much quicker than using standard 15amp circuits. The setup for this is quick if you have a 40amp plug already, but if you don't, you will definitely need one prior to setting this up. It took about 10 minutes for me to get this mounted and ready to go. The cabling is thick and robust, shouldn't be any problems holding up over time. Overall this is very well made. Is this worth $500? I would still say no, mainly because several competitors sell around $200-300 range, and as of this writing there is a coupon that gets you $250 off. Great overall! ... show more

    • Level 2 Chargers is faster then level 1.great upgrade!!
This level 2 Charger is great.its way longer than most ev chargers. At 25feet long you have plenty of cable. This charger is also up to 15 times faster than the level 1 charger so you can charge your car in almost half the time. Great replacement from the level one charger!!

    • Works great and can pull the whole 40 amps
I got this in preparation for getting an electric vehicle. I got it connected and tested on a friends vehicle and it works great and can get the full 40 amps. I wish it had come with an app so I could monitor it remotely but sadly it does not. The cable is nice and long and thick so it should last a long time in the garage. t preforms as expected so I give it 4 stars. ... show more

This charger rocks! It's super fast, and the customer service is top-notch. The cable is long and sturdy, and it's up to 15 times faster than a level 1 charger, cutting my charging time in half. Setup was a breeze, and it's capable of pulling all 40 amps. The only drawback is the lack of a monitoring app, but that's a minor issue.     • Well made and functional EV charger
My wife and I both got new EVs this year. It's my first one and like I do with every new interest or endeavor I've gone overboard testing out all of the requisite accessories and equipment that go with EV ownership. My plan is to set up a charging station at home, at my office and at my wife's office. This is a first rate charger that has been installed at my wife's office for her J1772 EV. Most of what this charger does is what you'd expect at this price point. It has 40A capacity, uses a NEMA 14-50 plug and a standard J1772 interface. I've used it with my Tesla using the necessary adapter. The cable is 25 feet long which for the location is more than sufficient. The charger has all of the protection you'd expect (surge, overcurrent, etc.) is impact resistant, waterproof and dustproof. It also has all of the certifications you'd expect from top flight equipment (UL, FCC, ROHS). It's a really attractive and sleek looking unit with nice RGB work indicator lights. I thought I would be able to hook this up and review it, but unfortunately I will not be able to. I have to return it and the three stars is not a reflection of the products value, performance, or anything. I can say that everything comes nicely packaged, feels great, and looks great.
