GOOD: Was well packaged from factory. Install was easy, and functionally is good. Changing the amperage in the app on the fly is awesome and simple. LCD screen shuts off when not in use to save power. Good quality and amperage for the price point ($200 after $50 coupon) BAD: No cable 50A version caps at 48A in the app so might as well get the plug version that's 48A. Charging cable is very stiff and thick making it hard to manage. App has a lot of functionally, but the charging log only works when you export via email and it's missing information. Same App has a lot more functionally on other EV chargers base on YouTube examples. No way to see the temperature like is possible on other EV chargers.

The media could not be loaded. The 48A EV Charger by QIAO, is a surprisingly well-made, high performing charger, with all the features and capabilities you should need to keep your EV ready to go. Let’s take a closer look at what may or may not make this a good choice for your situation. I. Quality – The charger looks and feels like a well-made charger in many ways but not all, with really thick cables and a strong build. I have some that are a bit higher quality overall, but this one is definitely towards the top. I’d put the overall quality in the lower side of the upper tier of the quality scale for at home EV chargers and guess that it should hold up well over time. II. Performance – This one has worked great in many ways. It offers a very high 48-amp capability that is adjustable with multiple amp choices and a max of 11.5kW fast charging. The front screen is nice to have, providing helpful information like volts, kW used current and total and timer. It has about every available feature with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and app control. The 25-foot cable is the long enough for most people and probable the most common size available. This is great to have if you can’t park next to the charger. Keep in mind that this one will need to be hardwired directly to the breaker panel on a 60A breaker if you want to use the 48A charging. It comes with very useful and appreciated wall mounts for the main unit as well as the charger end. It’s also worth noting that the cables are some of the thickest I’ve seen, I’m not sure if it’s the wires inside or extra insolation, but wither one a bonus. Overall, this is a fantastic option that offers a high charging ability, with quality, convenience and most of the features you can currently get. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it. If you’d find it helpful to see an up-close visual inspection of this product, I recommend you watch my included video in full screen. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words, well it’s a video! You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. The app works well. The amperage is easy to adjust. The display and logs are easy to read and understand. The only thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is the charger cable. It gets very stiff in colder weather. Its outer jacket is plastic or vinyl of some sort. It’s definitely not a SO cord like I put on it for the power cord.
