I bought this umbrella for the deck of my parent's beach cottage. It has been terrific. We've left it up accidently in 20 knot winds and it just bounces a bit. The deck and cottage itself are kept much cooler on hot, sunny days when the umbrella is up. It covers enough of an area that you can have a chaise lounge under it and you don't have to be playing musical chairs constantly as the sun moves overhead. We’ve had this umbrella on our patio for 5 years and it has exceeded our expectations. It’s only slightly faded and is still in good working condition. We would continue using it, but we’re replacing it with the smaller 12’ diameter version in the same color. The 13’ model is such a beast that we didn’t trust a normal weighted base, so instead we stacked pavers on the base. It can be a little cumbersome to open and close, but that’s to be expected considering the size. It’s remarkably stable for something so large. The tilt and rotation functions are also well-designed and easy to use. We were careful to take it down whenever strong winds or storms were forecast, but it had no problem withstanding 20 mph wind gusts when we were unable to take it down in time. ... show more

This is a very good looking and very large umbrella. The only problem was finding a suitable base to support it. After 2 failed attempts, we finally found a working base at a local retailer. Their customer service was very helpful when shipping was delayed by the carrier. Would definitely buy again.

If you are looking for a Cantilever Umbrella or any type of umbrella look no further than Purple Leaf! I ordered a 13 ft Cantilever Umbrella and it was 50 to 60% less than some of the comparable umbrellas that I researched. When the umbrella arrived, I was blowen away with the quality of the product. From how it was shipped, how it was package, and the simple instruction guide to the heavy duty base post and umbrella post. The lift mechanism for the umbrella is so well designed that my 105 lb. wife can push it all the way up, which is unreal for a 13ft round cantilever umbrella. In addition, Purple Leaf had the Umbrella delivered in about 3 or 4 day, well ahead of the 7 to 10 days estimate. Finally, I had a few questions and I email the Purple Leaf's Customer Support and they responded to me within a few hours each time. I am asking myself, why can't other companies provide this cost effective, high quality product with excellent customer support? I have 3 umbrellas for my pool area and will be replacing my other two with Purple Leaf umbrellas. Great product! ... show more

Really nice umbrella. Great quality. However, the beige umbrella is way lighter than the picture. They give you a cover for it which is great. But it’s a darker beige. I actually with the umbrella was the color of the cover they give you! Umbrella is on the right in the pic and the cover is on left. Why would they be different?? ... show more

Excellent product - more expensive than others but I've had it almost a year now and this umbrella is holding up VERY well. Tough as nails, heavy duty, no fading, works perfectly a year into using it. Good design. We live in Arizona where the sun and heat will destroy anything. We purchased our first Purple Leaf umbrella in 2018 and it lasted 6 years. We bought our second umbrella in 2024 because of our luck with the first one. We had a very minor parts problem during setup and Purple Leaf responded to our problem immediately.
