I purchased this back in 2020 and have had no issues with it until recently. I had no idea, but maybe it's common sense that if you drop it, it could result in issues. Last week, my charger stopped working and I wasn't sure why. Today, I finally had some time to reach out to seller to see if I could get assistance since I saw that they have lifetime support even though my warranty had already expired. I called the number and he immediately texted back saying he would call me back since he was driving. I explained the issue and he looked up my order and reassured me that he would help me fix the problem. He sent me a picture asking me to take a picture of my charger and send to him and then he sent a detailed text AND video of a solution of what I can do and it worked!!!! I was super thrilled as I am not in the position to spend another few hundred on a new charger, especially after going through so much gas on my hybrid this past week. The customer service was so good that I really wanted to come on here and write a review. I volunteered, was not asked to write this review. It's really hard to find good customer service these days, so I really appreciate that. The seller was also very friendly and nice. Thank you!!!! I used this charger on a new BMW X5 45e and it does work ok when it engages. The problem is the microswitch engagement lever. There is a catch at the connection port that allows the car to start charging when it senses the plug is inserted firmly and switch lever "drops" into the detent in the socket housing. But it does not engage every time. You have to either lift up on the lever with your thumb until you hear a faint click of the internal microswitch, or lift up on the nozzle itself, and sometimes it will engage. (Plug feels fully inserted) The charger that comes with the BMW inserts perfectly and never fails to start charging. (It's only a 120-volt charger, not adequate for home charging quickly) This may be just a defect on the one I received but not enough of an issue to go through the hassle of replacement. It is working and may just need time for the catch to engage more easily through constant use. At least I know the workaround, so it works for me. Just be aware that this can happen. Aside from this glitch, the charger and components seem well built and works great. (See wire comment below) This charger produces a much faster charge than the BMW 120-volt version. One other note, the charger comes with many power plug options which is merely an added adapter to the standard 14-50P plug. The one I got with the 10-30P "dryer socket" option, comes with a "pigtail" adapter to adapt from the standard 14-50P plug on the charger to the 10-30P plug. The pigtail is 12-gauge heavy duty wire. The lead-in to the charger is a much smaller gauge and tends to get "warm" at 4700 watts, which typically indicates some current drop in the wire. This lead-in wire should be at least as large as the charging cable, which is 14-gauge. (2.5 mm) I can't read the gauge of the lead in wire; it has been shortened enough that the AWG is not visible. But you can see in the picture, it is smaller than the charge output cable. The pigtail never gets warm. ... show more

It has a protective cap, a 30 foot cable, and an easy to read control box with LED charge status indicators, none of which the BMW charger featured. This thing works well with my 2018 Leaf. I have a laundry room just off my garage; I can swap my clothes dryer with this cable overnight (when we arenโ€™t doing laundry anyway) and it charges my car to full. Overall this is a great charger that I've been using for a few months (longer than my first 240v charger lasted). The long cable means I don't have to move cars around to charge the EV. It reliably charges. My only issue is that the method to mount the display box to the wall isn't workable. It is a tiny loop very close to the incoming power cable that won't accept a hook or even a screw head. So after spending all this money on a charger I have to McGiver a way to mount the display box to the wall because the designers gave this no thought to this whatsoever. If this isn't important to you then it is great charger. If it is important it's still a great charger but be prepared to do some additional engineering that the manufacturer couldn't be bothered to do. ... show more

I liked the charger because it could be hooked up to a 249v 20 amp service. Not as fast as a 32 amp service but still a lot faster than the 120v charger that came with the car.
