I don't think I'm going to be taking this one on the road with me, although I certainly could. A portable charger is sort of a compromise that requires a 110v plug with low amp draw (16A max, usually less or it'll blow a fuse on a 20A 110v circuit), and a portable is pretty small. This one is small enough to be portable and has a long enough cord - a very good cord - so I can see it for that purpose, but it does take up a bit more space than a typical portable, and also there's the question of where you'll find the right 220v pinout plug to fit into - otherwise you're carrying a bunch of adapters just so you can stick it in somebody's clothes-dryer plug on the road somewhere, and that's kinda far-fetched, although we've done exactly that, to be honest. This one is well made and tight and solid and nice and bright and easy to read. No settings -must- be made or changed to start using it, with the default good enough to just plug and charge right off the bat, so it's pretty simple. But the best part is that it's all set up to be installed semi-permanently at home or shop or somewhere that you want to just plug it in and leave it there and then charge the vehicle. For most use cases, 32 Amps, which this thing does handily and without complaint, is more than enough to keep an EV topped off, especially since the average daily use of an EV is UNDER 30 miles per day, and since even if I were to drive 5 TIMES that distance on some days, this charger provides vastly more than enough current to top up my battery overnight, usually much faster. So it's a pretty good portable, but even better for making it stationary.

The first thing I'd like to mention is about the economics of this charger. Chances are, the dealer said "We can install a charger for you!". And you said "How much?" And the dealer said "Around $4,000!" And you said "I'll shop around a bit." Smart move, because this charger is less than 1/10th the cost of a dealer-installed charger, and you'd have to be a little funny in the head to not appreciate that kind of savings. I'm super-into saving money whenever I can, and this charger certainly aids in that goal. It's quite portable, but you'll of course need a 240v outlet for it to be useful. Some folks have actually started to carry both a 240v level 2 charger and a 110v level 1 charger for times when a 240v plug isn't available. Something to consider. This is rated at IP65, which is kind of like saying "water resistant". It should be ok in light rain, but if you live in a location that regularly sees flooding or torrential downpours, seriously consider an EV charging enclosure for this. I love that it has a built-in screen so I can see what the charging status is right on the charger, and I can select the desired charge rate with a single button. Simple and easy. The screen (and the numbers and letters on it) are a bit on the small side, though and can be tough for those of us with aging eyes to see. I'm still glad it's there, even if I do have to lean close and look over the top of my glasses, lol. Overall, I'm very happy with this charger. It's a great charger to use at home or on the road, and saves a BUNCH compared to a dealer option. 4 stars!

I'm impressed by this charger. Seems to be well made with good quality materials. It's actually a little longer than the charger that came with my Kia and this makes it easier to connect in my garage. The time to get to a full charge with this charger seems a bit faster than my OEM charger. I was able to get to full after about 8 hours charging time versus about 10 hours with my OEM charger. So far I'm very pleased with the result!

. Impressed by the look, enamored by the quality. Quite a leap in power and convenience. I could sing praises for hours. Extra power that saves time. Last year, a big "T" charging station was installed in a shopping center parking lot not far from our house. I see cars there with people just sitting in them, reading a book or playing with their phone. Waiting to charge. Is it just me, or is there something wrong with that scene? Dr Benjamin Franklin told us: "Time lost is never found again." What about having professionals install your own garage station? Big bucks ! No big bucks needed with this unit. It's truly portable for the trunk. Installation is about as simple as plugging in. TREMENDOUS VALUE for that.

We have two Tesla cars, but there are times that friends come by and ask if they can charge while they’re there and it’s been a problem in the past so we bought this. My mom has a BMW i three and it’s an older model that only gets about 60 miles before it’s completely out of battery. We have a Nema 14/50 plug in the sidewall with 50 A which is more than enough To power her car at about 10-11 kW an hour. It’s basically over engineered in terms of thickness and seems much safer than some of the other level two chargers that I’ve seen. We do have an adapter if we have to take this on vacation with us so we can use it on our cars as well if we’re staying at an Airbnb, for example. It’s the advantage of having a plug versus some thing that is attached directly to your electrical. It locks right in place and a few lock the car it locks the device on your car so no one can unplug it and use it. So far, we’re very impressed with this unit.

This Level 2 EV charger has been a great upgrade for my electric vehicle. The charging speed is impressive, much faster than my old level 1 charger. With up to 32 amps and 7 kilowatts of power, I can charge my car efficiently, which saves me a lot of time. The charger is well-built and has withstood the elements so far, including some tough weather. It feels durable and up to the task, and the 25-foot cable provides plenty of flexibility.
