It raised the water temperature faster than expected and maintained a stable temperature once it reached the set point. If you need to warm water quickly, it absolutely does the job. I’d just recommend monitoring the first few uses closely because of how powerful it is. One thing I’m still unsure about — and would love clarification from the manufacturer or other users — is whether this unit is truly safe for long-term use in a saltwater aquarium/reef tank environment. The metal housing looks durable, but saltwater can be extremely corrosive over time, and reef tanks are much more sensitive to metal contamination or stray voltage than freshwater setups. I’d especially want to know: * Is the metal housing marine-grade/corrosion resistant? * Has it been tested specifically for saltwater reef aquariums? * Is there any risk of rust, copper exposure, or stray voltage over time?

Great while working, but I had bought TWO and BOTH broke after only 5-7 uses!! Now they just beep and beep over and over and will not heat anymore!

This water heater heats water fast and is easy to use, just put it in the water, plug it in and it gets to work. The smart thermostat is very helpful. I can set the temperature and the heater automatically shuts off at my desired temperature, then reheats when the temperature drops. No guessing and no overheating. The real-time digital temperature display makes it even better, allowing me to monitor the water at a glance. Safety-wise, this heater feels well-designed. The dry-burn protection and auto shutoff and the heavy-duty cord make it safe and reliable. As long as you keep the controller above water (as instructed), it feels very safe to operate. I’ve used it in buckets and it performs exactly as advertised. The 1800W heating power warms water quickly, making it suitable for quick hot water in the backyard and outdoor activities.
