I installed this filter system back in summer of 2019. Took a buddy and I a bit to do because how my basement is setup and what the previous owner did with it. Once I mounted the chassis to the wall, it was relatively straight forward to plumb the water into the filter system with shutoff valves before and after the unit, and a drain valve after. After a year and change of use, this system is still performing amazingly! With the initial set of filters, the middle (charcoal) filter completely blocked the flow and would not allow any flow through. I ran with it removed for a bit, and that was an automatic improvement in my water quality! Chlorine was mostly gone! While this was going on, I contacted Express Water, and they sent me a replacement set immediately. Great company to work with. When I went to install, this new filter worked perfectly. Even more improvement in the water quality! I frankly find it disgusting the amount of sediment that has been trapped. That filter turned DARK BROWN! I can't imagine going without this whole house filter! It says it works up to 80 psi, and I am close to that at 76 psi. No leaks, weeps, or anything. The system is great! One note: If I have one con, it's that the filter housings do not have drain valves on them. ... show more

I never drank the water at my house because it tasted funky, smelled a little, and on the worst of days, was cloudy or downright dirty brown. The water company said everything was safe and normal within allowable limits but I didn’t care. I bought bottled water and had a 5 gallon water cooler for drinking. After seeing brownish water in the tub one too many times, I decided to buy a whole house filter. After a bit of reading and research, I settled on the 3 stage, 20” inch filter unit from Express Water. Long story short, I have the cleanest water in the parish now! If I said it tasted great, that’d be a bit of a lie because it doesn’t taste like anything now. It’s crystal clear, odorless, and tasteless. Time will tell if an outdoor installation causes me any problems but just to be safe and for looks, I painted some steel and enclosed the frame to keep the UV light off of the filter housings. Pros: SUPER CLEAN water Little to no loss of pressure Long filter life Reasonable filter replacement cost Pressure gauges and bleeding valves Sturdy frame for standing or wall mount Clear sediment filter housing Cons: None yet ... show more

This water filter solved the water odor issue I was experiencing in a new build. It was a solvent type smell so probably VOC related. This filter system is a beast! Came well packaged and completely assembled. Installed this ahead of a new water softener at the same time. Using copper and sharkbite fittings, installation was easy and quick. Wrapped the 1 inch fittings with about 10-12 wraps of tape and had zero leaks on the first try. All of the pressure gauges worked right out of the box without any modifications. This system will prolong the life of my new water softener and the difference is noticable aready to the water quality just three days in. Installed it on the floor, if going to mount on wall make sure it is mounted to the studs, a backer board, or concrete with good hardware. Very heavy even without water in the housings, well built. Would purchase again and suggest it to those that want cleaner water in their home. ... show more

(Mines a temporary install as we renovate the basement) Great build, solid product and fairly heavy duty. Gauges are nice and all the housings are well built. Basic DIY skills will install fine but beware the threads into the housing must accept 1" male threads and per instructions 14-24 wraps of Teflon... If you don't, you will have leaks. I reached out to customer service and they agreed to follow the instructions. That's a lot of tape!!! Anyhow I did what they said and it worked... Seems to be filtering just fine... Fyi, you'll have about $100 in hooking it up no matter your preference..(pex,copper,shark bites)... We shall see how it holds up, how long the filters last and if it ever leaks.... ... show more

We have an RV and the water we have from the well smelled ready bad like sulfur, we got the filters, problem solve its so crystal clear and the smell its gone, the flavor its amazing better than bottle water!!! SO RECOMMED this product its worth the money!!!

Our city water had been murky and smelled awful. I finally got tired of waiting for the county (Montgomery county, Maryland) to correct it so decided to do it myself. The unit is well built and heavy. Make sure you use studs and a base shelf to secure it to the wall at minimum. I installed with room to lower the filter casings. I also included the maintenance bypass valve and shut off valves as it just makes life easier. Copper prices drove my self install to about $270 in copper tube and fittings. You can do it much cheaper using PEX or CPVC. As stated in the instructions, DO NOT solder near the plastic of the unit. Use a wet rag as a heat sink. Within 10 minutes of install, the pristine white filter was brown. I flushed my system for 30 min. after install and now my water is crystal clear. We used to have a Brita to clean up the water for drinking uses, but it didn’t clean the water for the dishwasher, shower, water heater, etc…. I highly recommend this unit. ... show more

    • Good Water Filtration System for the money

I purchased and installed this filtration system two months ago. The sediment filter is already a bright rust brown looking cylinder and I installed a 40 micron pre-filter in front of the system. I'm not sure if the sediment filter will last 12 months, but time will tell. Installation went pretty well. If you DIY, make sure that you properly plan the installation since you do have to shut off your main water supply during installation. I also replaced the GAC filter cartridge with a Polyphosphate cartridge to help soften the water. Our water taste great and it feels like the polyphosphate cartridge is doing its job. ... show more
